Arsenal Thread

After tonight Arsenal will know the 5 teams they might face in the CL playoff.

As it stands the seeded teams (who Arsenal cannot face) are:

Arsenal
Lyonnais
Milan
Schalke
*Zenit

And the unseeded teams who Arsenal can face are:
*PSV
*Metalist Kharkov
Fenerbache
Real Sociedad
Paco's Ferreira

Teams with the * still have a second leg to play but are leading by a strong margin (Zenit are 1-0 up with away goal against Nordselleyland, PSV are 2-0 up on Wagrem, Kharkov are 2-0 up, with 2 away goals on Salonica).

Looking at those 5 unseeded teams I think Arsenal would probably want Paco's Ferreira. The other teams are potentially svery trong and as well there could be some long away trips (Kharkov, Istanbul).
 
I watched the first leg of PSV-Zulte Waregem. The match ended 2-0, but it should have been 8-0 (and i'm not even exagerating). Zulte Waregem had serious issues (read the latest edition of the football blog to know more about that), but it seems as if PSV has a fine young team.

PSV has another very young and exceptionally good Belgian player: Bakkali (17 years old). He was by far the best player on the pitch and will be most likely in the Belgian squad for the friendly against France. Together with Januzaj, Sieben Schrijver, Charlie Musonda Jr (Chelsea) and a very young player who is at Manchester City he is of our golden generation. This is a team that is (according to youth scouts) more talented than our current national team at the same age... It is astonishing how our youth players are coming true. Anderlecht has an astonishingly good 16 year old in their first team: Youri Tielemans. (I'm going off-topic, sorry).

With Anzhi appear to be busted and are preparing to sell some of their players... could we finily see Willian to Arsenal? good replacement of Gervhino

Really? I didn't know they went bust. I wouldn't mind Denisov in this Arsenal midfield. A real DMF to patrol our defensive midfield is much needed.

nah tbh only metalist will be a challenge, the other 4 wont be much of a problem imo.
 
How can that be possible , why ex-players that shit on us can comeback w/ open arms. I hate the its just business attitude from Wenger. When, RVP is done he`ll train here too!

The only thing that ever bothered me about Wenger is never taking things personal :RANT: :BRICK::? Instead he blames other clubs and even that is just business. Surely being accountant and culture learning from Japan corrupted him :LOL:

Flamini didn't have much fault when he left Arsenal. The club allowed him to enter the final year of his contract without a renewal negotiated. I don't know if he was asking for silly money. But the fact is that he had a phenomenal last season with Arsenal and when we knocked Milan out of the CL he was impressive and had an in form Kaka in his pocket.
So Milan made him an offer he couldn't refuse :P
I think they quadrupled his salary or something?

Anyway, I wouldn't mind if he came. I wouldn't mind if we signed any new DMF. I wouldn't mind if we signed anyone in any position for that matter. I wouldn't mind if we signed a new kitman.

Seriously, we're almost 1 week away from starting the Premier League. So far we're running a profit on transfers, on a summer we were supposed to show our financial muscle and our ambition and all that bullshit that blood sucking two bit politician Ivan Gazidis fed us.

If anything, our squad is weaker than last season (when we already struggled for 4th). Think about it. No senior players brought, but we released 9 senior players from the squad. The latest one was Gervinho - yes, the forehead is gone.
Seriously guys, our team is weaker than last season. WTF is up with that??
 
It's okay, man. I'm sure we're releasing senior players to raise funds and open wage space for the massive purchasing spree we're about to embark on in the upcoming days(!) :D
 
Suarez will ne coming yo arsenal but i dont think thats enough for this team to be pushing for a top finish and some silverware
 
this team is not enough , they need a top striker , someone who can score and I dont think they need a striker like Suarez , Asenal need a finisher , I thought if Higuain (and few more quality signs) would com than Arenal could race for tittle , but at this point I dont see them better than Liverpool or Spurs
 
Why was Gervinho sold?! I get that he might not be first team material but he's a valuable asset to the squad surely. If we operated like that Anderson would have been sold 10 times over.
 
Gervinho was sold ,because before we bring players in. We need to get them out. Arsenal biggest problem is offloading players :LOL: .

Yes UEFA banned but CAS overturned this decision and we are back to competiton but final decision being issued before 28 August for CAS ...

so if final decision its that you guys would be banned , than even if you beat Arsenal they will still go on CL and you won't ?

you guys better lose match coz if you win than UEFA gonna ban you and make a free place for Arsenal :LOL:
 
Nobody knows what will happen. If Fener win and then are banned it could be that Arsenal takes their place, or it could be that there is a match between Arsenal and Casino Salzburg (who Fenerbache just knocked out) maybe this is a one off match on a neutral ground. Also there is a chance that Bursaspor could be involved as they were the next highest Turkish team (that wasnt involved in fixing matches). It's all a big mess and I can see UEFA deferring the ban for a year.

i dont know i hope we will win and CAS overturned this decision and we will play CL :D .
