Arsenal Thread

He was playing well for a while, but it seems he completely lost his form.

Maybe a loan would have been better.

Ramsey was playing well at the beginning of the season he stood out from the other players that were playing crap, then his form dipped and the fans have started to get on his back, so it is no wonder his form is lacking. He is still very young and I have seen enough of him to think that he can be part of Arsenals future. Last season he and Jack showed so many times that they could be the future Arsenal midfield for years to come. Just because he has an off period, doesn't mean he is shit at all. This happens with young players, its how they learn and progress.

Some of the things being said about Ramsey are just rubbish. He gives 100% in games but he is still learning.

It gets on my nerves that alot of people expect players in their early 20's to be the finished article.

Arsenal can`t blame no one but themselves! IF we finish 5th then so be it. Robin will definitely leave and rightly so... he would want to experience some sort of triumphant. We still need to get a win at Wesbrom just encase :SMUG:

Getting 3rd is such a fine line, if we get it then our future looks quite bright, if not it could damage us severely. This is why I can't understand why our players played the way they did in the first half?!

Just really makes me angry! the way the other players trundled back as if there was no danger when they had 3 players against our 2?! I just can't comprehend it? all of our players should have been busting a gut to help out, this game was so important for our future and their display in the first half was just ridiculous.

Crazy match. Super entertaining though, great for the (almost) neutral.

I'm still rooting for Arsenal to get in the CL, can't imagine them not being in it.

Is it? maybe a few would think 5th means no big names coming in and giving them a whole season to play in...a stretch . I`m just so gutted

the fans are disappointing! how could they have the nerve to boo a player, when they don't even follow through a proper support for the team for the whole match. look at what pressure other lower positioned teams' supporters exert on us (not to mention the other big teams like man utd, liverpool - no tottenham is in the other category :) ).

this is becoming a very bad habit. wtf?! so now every time someone has a bad patch everyone is on they're back.

and ramsey IS playing as good as he can at the moment. he burnt out during the first half, but I for one cannot blame him that he is even slightly nonchalant.

about today's match: yeah, the middle 3 did not put pressure, did not help the defense very well.
I would prefer Mertesacker alongside Koscelny, and try to move Vermaelen in the DM position. I see him doing well there. He made some very blatant mistakes in the last matches, present in past also (see Barca home). he needs to improve and be more calculated with his interventions sometime, keep on defensive minded also.

p.s.: I noticed a lack of creativity across our season. I am curious how and if Wenger will address this. yes, i would like Hazard for this very reason, but i think it is highly unlikely for many reasons.

It does seem every team got us figured out and we cannot react to a teams tactic that threatens us and we cannot impose our game on them. it happened so so many times. and when you compare it with other games in which we excelled... makes one think.

I think people are very unfair to Ramsey.
He has done well for most of the season (very well even), but the guy is knackered.
Ramsay is the main victim of Wishere's injury.

And yes Arteta is a very, very important player.
I just saw images of yestersay's match, where was Vermaelen when the Norwich goals were scored, i might be wrong but i haven't seem nowhere near the ball when Norwich scored...

I just came back from holidays only to find Arsenal again in such a dire position. Before it was all fine for us finishing 3rd and now I find this :(

It was all on our hands and we just had to chuck it away? Unbelievable what we have seen in terms of attitude yesterday. I only saw the highlights but I am furious with the team.

Firstly let's have a look at the referee. If that was not a penalty on RvP, then I don't know what it is. I don't know what sport we are watching anymore guys... Especially when we see the kind of penalties other teams get. Premier League is becoming a comedy league IMO.
Now that we played all home matches, the statistic is complete: Arsenal had no penalties awarded at Home this season.

As outrageous as that was, we have to say it's Arsenal's own fault. We bottled it, boys. All 3 were ridiculous goals to concede. With some slightly better defence ethics there and we should have walked out with a clean sheet. No disrespect to Norwich, but I think so.

Someone has to pull Vermaelen aside and tell him to stick to basics. We appreciate his offensive contribution but he has to cut it down a bit. Having said that, Song was supposed to cover for him when he ventures up the field. Song was disappointing defensively, IMO. He gave the ball away stupidly for their 3rd goal and didn't get back to cover, instead trying to press up the field. There's a clear lack of organisation at the back that needs to be addressed.
Song was great attacking and creating chances. Superb assist for RvP once again, and all that. But him and Vermaelen let us down in their primary role of defending.
Everyone wants to attack in this team, it looks like my old high school team... no one wants to track back!

As for Ramsey, he is at a loss, he looks clueless and spent. If we had Wilshere and Arteta now, he wouldn't be anywhere near 1st team football, but it just so happens we need him now. He is playing horribly but I think the fans don't help matters by booing him, just like when they were booing Arshavin. You don't have to be a genius to know it doesn't do any wonders for the players' confidence.
And let's not forget that Ramsey came back from that horrific injury and we have to be grateful that he didn't become a Diaby.

A big burden has to be placed on AW's shoulders first of all. He may be a genius of a manager, but the fact that he can't sort out our defence is a worry. He can't even adapt to a situation where we're winning 3-2 with 10 minutes to go. Any other team taking their opponents seriously would have been defending with 10 men behind the ball, but not Arsenal....
I'm furious to see us chucking it away like that, a hard fought comeback and all that...

Now we have the others breathing down our necks and both can overtake us. Tottenham can beat Villa easily, it must be said. And Newcastle face City, but they are red hot at the moment with Papiss Cisse scoring at will.
Even if City and Villa do us favours, I can see us choking again away at West Brom. I just hope I'm wrong.

Ramsey will become good for Arsenal, guys. Have faith; it's his first season back from injury.

I see nobody mentioned Sagna's injury. What a disappointment for him to go out right before the Euros.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH WE ARE IN THE 3RD, ALL DEPENDS OF US AGAINST WEST BROM, THANKS CITY AND ASTON VILLA.

It was not clear exactly what and how it happened, but Sagna fractured his ankle. Nobody knows how bad it is, but it's bad enough for him to miss the Euros. But I hope he can recover in time to come back flying next season.

So, some key fixtures just ended and Arsenal has got the favours we all hoped for - 2 points ahead of Newcastle and 1 point ahead of Tottenham.

Now it's simple: one game, only one result interest us away at the Hawthorns against WBA. Will Arsenal choke??

We won't have Bac of course, so Coq may be in that RB position. It won't be easy but this Arsenal team has to show what they're made of and show they can focus when it really matters.

Let's hope Hodgson to be a little distracted by his England manager appointment, that would help us a bit.
Come on Arsenal!

Yup coq plays always well when he goes to the pitch, he put all of him... this will be THE MATCH.

we need a gif like this please, if someone can make it would be great xD

It's back in our hands again :-)

If the players play like they did in the first half against Norwich I will fly back over to London and kick all of their arses!

They need to play perfectly.

It really is amazing how we keep being gifted 3rd place and have been unable to seize it in these past few weeks. I really can't see us giving it up now. Arteta going down with injury sure had an affect i never anticipated. We'll get it done though, no doubt in my mind.

This is a poacher, a deadly venomous snake on the prowl. The 1 outside the box was the Spurs match before half time.

I'm still in love with the one they had when they played the CL final against Barcelona, best kit ever from any club...
