Good win for Arsenal. Delighted for Vermaelen and also for Rossicky, a player i always liked and who was hampered by injuries. Of course Arsenal will finish third...Spurs will be lucky to finish fourth.

Today in the Belgian papers: Hazard as a deal with Spurs, but not a real contract (for what's it worth in football). Also today in Belgian papers: Jan Vertonghen to Arsenal.
Vertonghen can play CB, LB, LMF and DMF (IMO he's best as DMF, but with Ajax he plays CB). He knows Vermaelen very well because they both played with Ajax and played together for years in our national (youth) teams. I think as a CB he's just not good enough for a club like Arsenal, as a DMF he is great...But is also thought Vermaelen was just not good enough.

Believe it or not, as a Spurs fan, i'm glad Arsenal is ending this season well...if they continue like this they will go to the summer with a very good mood and can attract very good players.

just hope Spurs make it to the CL too...

Gerd has finally lost it ;))

I just had a look at Spurs run in for the rest of the season and apart from Chelsea away, they should still finish the season well.

Although these results are good, there is still always a question mark over us, we also have Man City and Chelsea to play aswell also our next game against Everton is going to be really hard.

It would be great to finish above Spurs :))
 
Thanks for the Belgian connect there gerd, I would prefer Vertonghen to Hazard only because our defense need to be stronger and OX is the player I want on the wings.

Seriously though why go to spurs? Mutd`s challenge on the wings is not a hard option. They have history, good salary package and almost guarantee trophy every year. Spurs will need to secure Ade/Modric . Harry won`t leave to England ,FA chief Bernstein will not allow that.
 
We need more fired up people like RvP, Vermaelen and SZCZ. Krul was wasting time during the whole match, RvP was clearly annoyed with that. There may be bad blood from the Dutch camp too between those 2.

What can you do? Football is filled with cnuts, asrehloes and dckis. All of this reminds me of Team America :LOL:
There's cnuts and asrehloes and the dckis who are always trying to fcuk the cnuts. But the dckis want to fcuk the asrehloes too and if this goes on and on we're gonna have our dckis and cnuts all covered in shti!

He sounds like he can play in a few positions, which is nice. It definately will be beneficial to have another defensive minded midfielder that can also play in defence.

With our injury problems, having players that are capable of playing in a few positions is key really.
 
IMO he's best as a DMF. He can continue running.
He has a good longe range shot and is good at free kicks and going forward.

Apparently i'm not the only Belgian who loves both Spurs and Arsenal...Vertonghen and Hazard also love both clubs...but then i'm not a football player who wants a transfer...i'm probably the only straightforward of the three.

Vertonghen is a nice, outspoken but down to earth person who was invited to a big Dutch talk show and surprised everybody by coming by bike and bringing his girlfriend along. It turned out that the Dutch girlfriend talked more than Vertonghen himself.

What am i gonna do if both Vertonghen and Hazard prefer Arsenal to Spurs?

I was really impressed by Vertonghen when Ajax played us. He was the best Ajax player over both legs.

Given the injury problems Arsenal suffer almost every season, a utility player like him capable of competently playing in several different positions is exactly what they need.
 
Hi all, just joined the forum. The win was important for us last night and wish the boys would stop leaving it till the end to win these matches. Not sure my heart can take it!!
