Arsenal Thread

its great that we are doing business early so before the euros we would have made some decent signings already and the new signings can all gel and make good impact before beginning of the season.

there is of course a flipside and this maybe RVP secretly has told wenger he wants to go end of the season so wenger has no choice BUT to act quickly and not make same mistake twice by acting too late

Good Lord stop it wit your flipside....He's been here too long to leave to another club in the country. He won't go! I think Arsenal are suffering complexion through fab n nas leaving. Never again...club books was always 1st and now that's sorted players we'll be primary focus. We had to sell every year to pay banks , it will be very interesting to see who leaves the board n who comes in Im sure RVP is keen on that to see pay structor change hense poldiski future pay package...have fun growing tomatoes in Kent :SMUG:

I had the same thoughts as Bobby. Wenger is acting quick to keep Van Persie.
I think it's a rather good idea to search for players now and to conclude things...

Let's hope Podolski does better than with Bayern. He has the potential to be a great player...

I echo your aspirations based on his statement;

Soccernet said:
The Germany international, though, recently said his move would not be determined by the highest bidder. "Money is not the most important thing for me," he told Sport-Bild. "What is crucial is the development of my game."

I'm hoping another Henry in the making - based on Henry's failed experiment at Juve..... But my hopes are always high. :)

I think the early signing of Podolski would be a win-win situation. He's a quality player who has plenty of caps for Germany but was playing for FC Koln, not getting any Champions League football. So even if Arsenal's spot in next season's CL is in danger, it is a good move for Podolski anyway.
On top of that, this is indeed a way of showing RVP that Arsenal means business from now on.

I'm looking forward to see what will happen in the board from April onwards. It's a moment of transition and I hope Kroenke gets a grip of this club by appointing someone good.
That someone could have been Dein again, hadn't he joined with Uzmanov.

I think if you can wrap up Hazard along with that and considering Wilshere will feel like a new signing that would be a decent Summer in terms of money spent, im sure Wenger could still probably bring in 1 or 2 more cheaper additions to the squad ontop.

The race for thirth place between Arsenal and Spurs is effectively also the race for Hazard.
If Spurs finish third, Hazard will play for Spurs next season...

I doubt that... as long as Arsenal get a CL spot he will join us ahead of spurs. No disrespect to spurs...but on a prestige level, playing for Arsenal is more attractive then spurs...And who knows... maybe he wont even be a part of those 2 clubs next season.

Yea bring hazard, sign rvp, sign podolski and buy 2-3 young players with the hope that one of them turns out as another Ox or another vermahlen and where good to go

If Hazard wants more first team football, he better sign with Arsenal.
At Spurs look at Harry Redknapp signing loads of offensive players and not using them properly, totally neglecting people like Pienaar (who went back to Everton).
Of course if Hazard steps up with his game he can find his place in most teams. But at Arsenal he will be playing at a team with more tradition, would have more first team football, and will be better paid probably.

What a finish to the match. Good on Arsenal, absolutely camped out in Newcastle's final third for about 25 minutes. What a run from Vermaelen, must have gone 75 yards to be there for that finish.

Really hope Arsenal finish 4th, can't believe they might make 3rd!!!

Amazing and we deserved it.

Rosicky is indeed like a different player, crazy what a bit of confidence can do to a player. He has gone from a player that no one really thought about, to being a starter that is hard to leave out of the team and playing brilliantly.

1 point behind Spurs :DD

Does help that Rosicky is playing centrally.

Just like Arshavin (and Nasri until last season) he was completely wasted on the wing and yet Wenger persisted in playing him there.

Glad to see him performing well and injury free though, he was one of my favourite players at Dortmund.

Sensational from the Gunners! Well deserved too!

Hard to believe the difference between now and then for some of our players. Rosicky and Walcott are totally different now. Especially Rosicky. What the hell happened there? Whatever it is, keep it up, as it's working :D

Just makes you think that a guy like Arshavin could also have found his form soon, might have been too early to send him away.

Walcott was the main menace on the flank, good to see him like that, my patience with him was running out. He still has to work even more on his delivery though, but well done!

RvP and Vermaelen, our captain and vice-captain, these are the players who have that spot on attitude and mentality. Was great seeing Thomas grabbing the winner. We're on a roll now! :D

We have to keep up the hard work now even against the teams from the lower half of the table. They're tricky games and we don't wanna spoil our efforts now.

I think we will celebrate St. Totteringham's after all :D
I believe we can make 3rd! Cmon Arsenal!

Crazy ending! Krul and van Persie going at it the whole match! There was stuff being said in the tunnel as well, you could tell. I wonder if anything happened there because there were a LOT of angry players on both sides especially the losing one (Newcastle) the way van Persie was acting and celebrating.

He reminded me of the young punk he was at Feyenoord today to be honest. After being nothing but a professional for years and really improving his attitude which has helped him become the great player he is, he was talking $hit the whole time to Tim Krul today and blatantly trying to wind him and all other Newcastle players up after that goal and celebrating in their face, talking smack etc.

Really did remind me of his younger version at Feyenoord where he had quite a bit of attitude problem. Luckily unlike Zlatan, he improved his attitude. Not very sportsman-like today though. But we all have these days, I know I myself have provoked others in heated moments like that before.

I also wonder if this little feud will have any impact in Holland squad for Euros as Krul's a backup keeper these days. With Vorm playing well too, will Krul make it? Will he be left out because of this altercation with a man who's much more important than he is to Dutch National team? Interesting to see if these guys make up or if it effects things in Dutch squad.

RvP's always been a bit of cnut.

once they scored and we reply so quickly, that was amazing! RVP`s wife came on twitter and said don`t believe anything about Robin`s future only believe what comes from his mouth she seem very upset about City/Milan/Inter rumors. Wenger sign`em up. Where would we be w/o scoring for fun Robin...he scores when he wants!

I love Robin stirring the pot like the Arsenal of old  follow countrymen too! Look like Robin was getting surrounded :P he look like Ruud there for a bit.

Remember he didn`t want Kuyt in WC at the time. I think he was bother by Krul time wasting from the 27th min mark and throughout tbh Krul had every right to do that. I love the fact RVP is starting to get mad this is what we needed this nancy attitude does no favors I prefer the fire in the belly show some spirit!

at least he doesn`t sleep w/ his brother`s wife before n after their marriage nor chase Vice girls in kitchen basement at team hotels ,but yh RVP
could be a bit of a twat.
It's not exactly a bad thing. The Invincibles side was full of cnuts and like I've said previously, you could do with a few more cnuts like RvP.

Who knows, you might actually challenge for silverware if you had more players of his ilk.

yeah that what I said earlier, rvp seem to bring a liitle of the Arsenal of old ,only problem you can only see Vermaelen/ Robin being cnuty . We had a few before.... spitting fabregas, jap you from behind Nasri and headbutt Ade my favorite drop n roll eboue.

Krul acted like a dick aswell, lets not forget that. He ran half way up the pitch to confront Van Persie and then after the game.

Anyway, Rosicky aswell looked fired up in the right way, some good challenges, the team seems to be coming together in the right ways now...hopefully I haven't spoken too soon :))

Everton are going to be really tough though, so we need to keep it up and i would like us to score first and not conceed next time. This coming back thing is exciting, but I just want us to do well from the off.

It's cunt and not cnut.
Oh and as long as it's our cnut, he's a good cnut isn't it aboutreika...only other team's players are real cnuts, our players are cnuts but because they are our players they are not really cnuts, they might act like super cnuts but since they are our players they are semi-cnuts, while other team's players might act like semi cnuts, but because they are other team's players, they tunr out to be super cnuts even if they only act like semi-cnuts...after all they are not our players..so they are cnuts. Come to think of it, even if they don't act like a cnut at all, still they are cnuts.

Basically: only our players are not cnuts, all the other are cnuts...wether you do behave like a cnut or not, that is inconsquential...our cnuts are not cnuts.

Good win for Arsenal. Delighted for Vermaelen and also for Rossicky, a player i always liked and who was hampered by injuries. Of course Arsenal will finish third...Spurs will be lucky to finish fourth.

Today in the Belgian papers: Hazard as a deal with Spurs, but not a real contract (for what's it worth in football). Also today in Belgian papers: Jan Vertonghen to Arsenal.
Vertonghen can play CB, LB, LMF and DMF (IMO he's best as DMF, but with Ajax he plays CB). He knows Vermaelen very well because they both played with Ajax and played together for years in our national (youth) teams. I think as a CB he's just not good enough for a club like Arsenal, as a DMF he is great...But is also thought Vermaelen was just not good enough.

Believe it or not, as a Spurs fan, i'm glad Arsenal is ending this season well...if they continue like this they will go to the summer with a very good mood and can attract very good players.

just hope Spurs make it to the CL too...
