I like the crystal ball you have

This might be him at his best, you never know?

possible but still your selling a good player with 10 seasons left in him.

Arteta maybe 3-4 years at top.

However IMO they are different. Arteta is clever and plays thorugh the middle with passes.

Nasri is a winger with dribbling skills

Well we got the result in the end, I didn't see it but the result is what counted and hopefully the comeback will stir some desire in the team.

Sunderland or Middlesborough next away going to be tricky....especially for us at the moment.

From what I have read, it was lucky in the respect that we were 2-0 down, but it sounds like we deserved the win? so not lucky in another way.

No we diddnt deserve the win. The 3rd goal wasn't a pen and after the third goal we slacked off and villa had a few chances to make it 3:3 . So we was lucky. I diddnt see it but my cousin did at the emirates and my mates saw it on TV and all say the same thing how we was lucky to win.

It's a win anyway, that is important at the moment.

Not really. Because its very likely we wont win the cup anyway if that's all wenger and players care about. We gotta play better is what I'm saying.

I'm glad for the win.

We are still in the cup at the moment, isn't that what matters?

I don't get the sentance about 'if that's all Wenger and players care about' ?

If all our players and Wenger care about winning, then we wont win the cup?

Anyway, I have read somethings that said in that 15-20min period we played some lovely stuff when we got the goals. We had our chances in the 1st half aswell etc

We came back from 0-2 down and played quite well in the second half to come back. I like to see the positives :DD

What? We didn't deserve to win? We were also the better team in the first half although
conceded that two goals. We were very strong in the second half and finally got the goals.
Don't know what your cousins and mates saw but the 3rd goal was a clear penalty.
Bent brought down Koscielny without hitting anything of the ball, clear penalty, well deserved win.

I was at the stadium today. First of all, it was a great comeback and I didn't expect that at all! I was ready for exiting the FA cup by the hands of Villa at our own home! The way we were playing I couldn't see it happening.
But it did, partly on our own merits, but luck played a great part too. The players came back with a much better attitude for 2nd half, but quite honestly... have you seen the goals? Two penalties and Theo's goal was accidental, a Villa defender attempted a clearance and it ricochets off Walcott's face? :D
Oh, and both penalties were legit IMO.

We were lucky, but I'm happy to take the result! Still, let's not forget there's a lot of work still to be done defensively with this team. There's a total lack of oganisation and concentration at the back. Merte was amazing today, but I felt the defence as whole doesn't do its job properly. The defenders switch off too often. Look at the first goal, we can't defend short corners. We allow a 2 vs 1 situation on corners, it's ridiculous! Cocquelin struggled there. Once again, Theo Walcott did almost 0% tracking back, while The Ox did that a lot and made life a lot easier for Vermaelen.

And Fabianski... oh my, what can we say? Seriously, he's clueless, he misses the basics of goalkeeping. That Bent shot is a quick but easy/instinctive decision for a GK. Can't hold the ball? Deflect it to a corner kick! It's even easier too, you have to put less strength in your hand to do that. But what does he do? Deflects it right on the path of Darren Bent! Gave us chills in another couple of occasions too. In the 2nd half, he managed to collect a grand total of 2 crosses inside his own box! Yeah, he can do it sometimes!! The fans at the Clock End were applauding enthusiastically :D

Now, speaking of the fans, I'll give my impressions about the atmosphere there. Today the Emirates lived up to its reputation of "Library". Sometimes in the 1st half all we could hear were the Villa fans outsinging everyone and reverberating under the Clock End. It's amazing how apathetic most fans who attend can be! At times, when some of us tried to chant "Ooh to be a Gooner", some people seating in the front rows were turning their heads back towards to us!! I was like. "ops, sorry to disturb you concentration, arseholes"!

But what really disappointed me was the booing once again. Now I'm 100% convinced that all the booing last week was directly at Arshavin only. And it seems that the fans like him less and less, courtesy of Sky Sports and their extensive campaign.
But really, reagardless of your opinion about him, I think the common sense is: you don't boo your own players, right? And it's not as if they were booing an awful display... Arshavin's name was announced before the match as a substitute and great sections of the crowd booed him. Fuck sakes, that's on pre-match!!! What really bugged me was that many of those "fans" who were not chanting and pushing the team, were booing Arshavin!
I gotta say, if you're going to the match only to boo players and keep quiet throughout the match, just fucking stay home please!
This is all reminiscent of the Eboue booing, people think this is acceptable and now the target is Arshavin.
It pains me to say, but the majority of fans in the stadium today were totally disgraceful.

The Arshavin booing thing is totally wrong, do they think it makes him want to play for the club doing that?!

Also to players thinking of coming to play for us, why would they when they can see how you get treated when you are not performing for the fans.

Really alot of Arsenal fans are deluded and need to wake up. Because for how much they think some players or the manager is at fault for us not winning things, then the fans themselves need to take blame aswell for not supporting the team and the players when it matters.

i have been to a fair few of games this season and i have never heard anyon booing ashavin, we do slag him off if he fucks up a simple pass/chance etc just like any arsenal player that does but never boo him.

Ashavin is shit. he has had ample amount of time to get his head right. its not as if he started playing shit last week. he has been shit for over a whole season and that is unacceptable in this level of football.

Fergie would have got rid of such a shit player ages ago!

Anyways bobby, as i said, arsenal were unlucky, thats my cousin, my mate and now Rentboy who has said this. What i mean by "'if that's all Wenger and players care about" is that if those idiots are jumping with joy with there performance and completely happy with the way they play then they can kiss goodbye top 4 for sure as we played shit as per usual.

You are only going to improve if you admit you was shit and rectify it.

TBH mate, before the 3 PL games we lost, we was on a run but during that run we wasnt playing well IMO. we scrapped MOST of those games with 1:0 wins.

We have not destroyed a team since chelsea at stamford bridge as far as i know.

These bunch of fucking pricks just never learn mate. play like that against AC Milan and well fuck it then.

Exactly mate, I'm convinced that those booing today are deprived of a central nervous system. It's not exactly the smartest move to boo your players before the match even started, is it? So much for creating an atmosphere...

People seem to forget that the season is long, our squad is thin and Arshavin is still our player for another 5 months. Chances are that we will still need to play him on many occasions this season.
The way I see it, they're writing him off and completely alienating him. Before, he was a guy who could create something out of nothing. He has singlehandedly earned Arsenal some points even when not having a good day.

We have a hell of a battle to try and squeeze ourselves in the top 4 and we will need all the help we can get from anyone!
The sheer stupidity of the majority at the stadium today was appalling really. You're right man, fans need to look at themselves.

Yea its pathetic to boo ashavin. he is shit we get that but fucksakes dont boo him. slag him off when he fucks up but dont constantly boo him.

And yea some of the fans in emirates are retards. They dont deserve to be in that stadium. everytime i go there im scared to start singing.

I thought we played through n through unlucky to get the goals against us I was shocked n fuming . Dunne was a beast to jump and get the header. Bent was a 2nd shot coming off the play tight angle what was flappy thinking . 2nd half was just a blessing and We kept pushing a lesson of never give up and putting your head down. The 1st pen was a gift ,because Ramsey touched the ball ahead of himself maybe he saw Dunne from the side so he was clever there. The 2nd Theo " Did I do that? I did ..?! Yes, I did do it! " was a gift. The 3rd pen. was from so much nervousness from Villa seeing 2 goals and Arsenal were on the up n up . To think Kocs was a threat is beyond me having a CB running into the box and having a striker bring a defender is odd enough ,but RVP had to do the business not once but twice from the spot!

Did we deserve to win Hell yeah abt time the better team won! Villa were good I think we kept pushing we played good but scored ugly on 1 and RVP as captain was huge tonight from the spot kick.

So in a bizarre turn of events, I'm now very much for an Arsenal FA Cup win. Partly for the fact that I respect the way the club is run, love RVP's season and think Wenger deserves a break.

So, go forth gunners!

(shudder)

Its possible that the boos lost us the man ut game...so the fans were to blame not arshavin. Have the ''fans'' ever thought off that?

I mean had there ben no boos when arshavin came on maybe he wouldve played differently, maybe he wouldve defended better? Mayeb he wouldve been attacking threat and that opportunity would never have came about.

booing towards your own team/players only has negative effects on the pitch. Its really quite simply...stupid

Come on, that wont affect the players in a negetive way. Look at the fa cup game last sunday. 2:0 down at half time and everyone booing the team. Look what happened in the 2nd half

I think there is a difference in booing a whole team and a player, booing a player I don't think 99% of the time will help the situation.

Booing the team may bring about a collective togetherness from a team afterwards, but it will be a more 'lets show the fans that we are better than this' 'the fans are writing us off, lets show them' which also creats a barrier between the fans and the team and in the end causes resentment from both sides. Especially if the team doesn't improve and the boos keep on coming.

Also if you boo the whole team, but there are a couple of players playing well, then it isn't going to do their confidence much better.

But I bet you the best thing would be if we are 2-0 down all of our supporters supported the team and just sang their hearts out instead of booing, I bet you it would effect the team much more positively than booing.

Even if you think booing a team is effective, I bet you players around the world will see/hear about it and it will put doubts in their minds about joining Arsenal.

I agree with Bobby. As a fan you simply don't boo one of your own players unless it is evidently clear that he is showing a lack of commitment. But to be honest as long as i follow football i can't remember cases of players who showed an obvious lack of commitment.

IMO judging players and giving them "points" (certain papers do that here in Belgium, they give players point on a scale from 0 tot 10) is useless because we don't know what the manager told the player to do...

I can illustrate that with a famous example in Belgian football. In the 80's the big rivalry in Belgian football was between Anderlecht and Standard. Both clubs frequently played Euro Cup finals and where much too strong for the other teams in our league. The championship usually was decided in the matches between both teams. At the time Tomislav Ivic was Anderlecht's coach, and i remember one match being decided by a single goal from Anderlecht's left back Cluytens. After the match Ivic rewared him with a fine and a ticket to the reserve team because he had ignored Ivic' tactical orders...It transpired that Ivic did not want him anyway near the opponents 16 metres...Of course this is an absurd example by a coach who went waaay too far...but it is an illustration why as a fan you can't judge players...

I still remember the match were Eboué was booed by parts of the Arsenal fans...i felt heart broken for him...

Back when Eboue was booed I sort of agreed with it a bit at the time. As as you said (about none commited players) he was a player not showing his commitment or working for the team. He just seemed like he would come on dive around ridiculously cause the team problems and not really care.

His boos were from total frustration and a feeling that he was getting paid lots of money just to do his own thing and not really care about the consequences.

He had glimpses of showing how good he could be, which is probably why the fans were so frustrated with him.

After the booing he improved significantly, his attitude changed, his diving got less and less and you know the rest he became something of a cult idol here, with a bit of sarcasm in it, but still with alot of fondness.

But I think we were lucky there, because I think alot of other playres it would have had the reverse effect and they would act negatively to it.

I think Eboue was the exception. I don't think booing is acceptable and I think it is gambling with the clubs reputation and will harm the club in the future.

So no one should boo Tevez then?

Anyways at the end of the day, on the united game, people where booing Wenger, no ashavin, no Chambaln, no player, but the manager.

Ashavin maybe a bag full of shit right now but still doesnt deserve to be booed unless he acts like a complete dick like Tevez.

We can moan and grown at him saying "fucksakes u useless ashavin, shooot!!!!" but to boo him? na mate fuck that shit

I just mnean the boos might have caused negative effect on perofmance in man utd game.

Well we had just equalised so momentum was in ou favour. Then a chorus of boos IMO puts the momentum back in man utd hands, even if only effect arshavin. Mayeb te whole Man utd team get a lift.

In fact they would. YOu would know opposition team and players are on a downer as the boos mean that.

After concedign an equilser it woudl be great motivation for other team to make a sub which results in a chorus of boos IMO.

Providing fans would have known what happened in Munchen they could have booed Tevez, but only then...next time he plays, fans who love their team should support him...

But i think the fans in Munchen never knew what happened, then and there...and that is my point...we never know enough to judge players during a match...

PS: and i absolutely don't like Tevez, i don't like players who think they are bigger than their club...

Horrible nil-nil result at Bolton. 3 words for this Arsenal side: Not Good Enough

After tonight, does anybody still think Walcott could play CF? His finishing is a joke. And his crosses are not good either - when he manages to get it past his marker.

It was a chance to gain ground on Chelsea, but playing like that I can't see us squeezing into the top 4...

PS: Wilshere has a stress fracture in his foot, that's on the news today. Anyone finding interesting why the full extent of his injury was only revealed today, when the transfer window is closed? No Wilshere, no new signings (I'm not counting the new German kid). That sounds like lack of planning again.

Useless arsenal. Top 4 my ass

Vela has a better finishing product! than Theo , I think Ramsey gives assurance to the opposing team He won`t score! he just runs and run there was a time he even ran into RVP almost a soft tackle. He needs to rest and re-group this bunch had the chances to make Bolton cringe ,but miss chances just gave them the spirit to rise. Shocking dive by Davie and for Vermaelen to get a yellow from it was just embarrassing :CONFUSE:

4th spot won`t be earned by us maybe a gift and tbh this project never had a plan.
