Arsenal Thread

Two retarded idiots. And i don't see why Nasri "fell" for it?
Jonney, i don't agree at all with you.
Exactly a year ago you would have agreed with us, but now that he left Arsenal, you can't see that they are idiots...
The moment Nasri rolled his window down, he was lost...As a viewer of that video one knows what will happen and that Nasri should not have bothered. From Nasri's view this could have been two Man City fans and if he hadn't rolled down his window, then people could say that "nasri is above his fans and thus a pretentious prick". In those kind of situations one can't do good.
Just face it, Nasri and Fabregas left Arsenal because they didn't believe anymore in Wenger's projects although both of them say they have much to thank him for. Fabregas left in more style than Nasri, but Nasri did nothing wrong IMO.

And jonney, in this particular instance i would have liked to see what you would have done...either you roll down your window and then "you fall for it" or you don't and then you are a pretentious prick...i can't see no other way....
You know what shocks me most? That mental midgets like that are allowed to ride their car by night...and then complaining about Nasri and the speed limit...

i would have rolled my window, listen to there banter, laugh it off and roll my window backup and carry on as normal instead of reacting to those "pricks" and speeding off that could have easily caused a bad accident.

So I have just given u a perfect way to A. maintain that i am more mature then those fans and B. willing to say hello to a mature fan.

And nasri is a prick anyway. he was the one who slagged off all arsenal fans when he left and he did not leave because he diddnt believe in wenger(so now all of a sudden machini is a better manager then wenger? ) He left because of one simple factor.

£££££££££££££££££££££££$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$££££££££££££££

Simple as that.

Fabregas diddnt leave for money, he actually took a pay cut and is not getting ANY bonuses for assists or goals at barcalona because of it.

@gerd,
Nasri n Fabregas leaving had nothing to do with Wenger`s belief they both love n respect him and know he`s perfect for Arsenal. You sound like they felt Wenger lost the plot and begged. Fab wanted to go home n was promised in the summer.Nasri wanted MUTD to win something he felt he would be looked at on a higher stage w/ trophies and then MCity came in and said "What`s up Doc?

I know everyone feels those Liverpool fans are idiots I personally saw humor in it! Maybe me n jonney are the only 2 blokes who had a chuckle :WASTED:

I laugh everytime my bit is he response with " We`re top of the league" I don`t agree with what the fans said calling him Arsenal reject or name calling ,but the fact he replied to "top of the League" is massively fun because we`re NOT in MAY!!!

I said Liverpool fans rocked ,only because they made Nasri replied and if no one find the humor fair enough ...I`ll roll up the window up and spd offffff :BRMM:

I never said that Fab and Nasri didn't believe in Wenger anymore...they didn't beleive in his project anymore because both think they have more chance to win with their new clubs...

Is this Wenger's fault? I never said that, that is obviously your conclusion...

Personally i still think Wenger is a blessing for football, since he wants to build attractive football playing teams with young players on a relatively low cost...
It seems that is not the right way to win silverware anymore and since both Nasri and Fab want to win things, they left. In Fabregas' case it is also obvious that he wanted to play in the same team as Xavi and Iniesta because he wants to play more for Spain...

no worries mate ,I associate belief in project together w/ belief in the person as one. I think both players did what they had to do and nothing had to do with Wenger ,but themselves . Fab broke up with his girlfriend she wanted to stay in London he didn`t so 9 years w/ her and was an easy decision. Nasri had a good season and did what he wanted to do. Trophies are an excuse imo. That my conclusion players do what they want .

We really need to get a win tomorrow, It is going to be very hard though. I am hoping Arshavin wakes up and has a storming second half of the season. We need others to bring some goals to the team.

i was thinking: we need all the resources we can find because experience tells us: we can overtake liverpool, we can overtake spurs, but we can't overtake chelsea. plus, what if spurs manage a good season?! i hope not. that leaves us to battle with chelsea. i can't see them drop out of the top 4 (or being let to that chance by abramovich). i just hope spurs will start to go down because i can see chelsea crawling upwards.
there are 5-6 teams scraping for top 4. first two are being accounted for by manchester. we have a better chance against spurs, but only if they drop points. and only if we are able to push more. it seems we've reached a bit of a cealing with 4-5-ish spot. so we need to take every chance when our opponents drop points.
like today: spurs draw, but still not our direct competitor for the moment being way ahead. liverpool draw, but underneath us. still good though. chelsea won ugly win but what matters... we need to win and stick to them becaus under AVB they are weaker and more likely to drop points at times. and that's when we have to be in a position to take that chance.

so as titi said: get in!!!

fabregas's parents also split up

Well that was a big blow with Man United coming up aswell.

Very sloppy at times and Swansea played great.

It wasn't a Pen, but I understand why the ref gave it as in real time it did look like one.

Arshavin is a shadow of the player he was, hasn't got the confidence or ability it seems to go at defenders anymore.

kick in the nuts when they scored straight after our goal, but we have alot of injuries in defence at the moment and I think there was nervousness at the back which Swansea took advantage of and as I said before played really well.

The performance was bloody terrible. shocking and embarassing.

Wenger was clueless today. we only started playing a bit better when we converted to 442 with henry and rvp upfront and chamabalin playing.

Wenger is not playing the best possible side and tactics. Chamablin should be starting every game now. he is better the Ashavin and benayon. deserves his chance.

Arsenal are a shade of the team that could outpass every team in the League. Its shambolic. Song, ramsey, djurough etc etc cant pass. they lose the ball far too easily and can never play this passing game anymore.

Wenger either needs to dismantal this whole squad and buy players that can pass the ball or change philosophy/tactics and stop playing the passing game because this squad cant do it anymore.

the final nail is when nasri went for the money and fabregas went to join and play with his best mates.

Two players that could pass the balll with a blindfold.

i dont think we will get top 4. And Wenger is 70% at fault. this is pathetic and a dark time to be a arsenal fan with spurs piping us to top 4 and us not playing CL football next year.

absolutely gutted

Yeah the old Jonney is back!

bebo, exactly how i feel about arsenal at times.
yeah yeah sure not a fans these days...
but when this is repetitive and agonizing.
i'm fed up with with wenger's philosophy.
he says city is cheating football, but he's doing the same. you can't do proper performance with no real investments.
henry said it earlier this week. he can't score every time. problem is yeah our midfield is good, the trio, but our wings at times is absent. maybe the 442 would be better.
i'm starting to finish that despite what we've been told we needed to produce players and to sell so we can be balanced, so we can safely pay off our stadium.
15 days for a chance at having a chance for 4th spot.
Europa League is nice...and easier-ish. (Galatasaray)

Jacks fan here in peace, went to the game today but whilst even though I'm buzzing from a good Swansea win and performance I have to have sympathy with you Gooners on what was a frustratingly below-par Arsenal. I totally agree about the penalty decision, I felt the ref got it wrong, it looked more like Dyer fouled Ramsey as he turned then fell over himself. But our other two goals was down to capitalising on some very sloppy play, just where the hell was your defence for our winner? I couldn't believe our luck.

And you really need to get shot of Arshavin, he was awful. He's been poor for a while but today he had a shocker.

The only reason why we won those couple of games this season is that Van Persie wa simply on fire! Yes, we have to give credits to the midfielders like ramsey and song...but without Van persie scoring... we wouldnt have won any game. HE IS the ONLY person capable of putting the ball in the back of the net for us!

On second though...I think yall blame Arshavin...but created alot today IMO...from the middle BTW were for lord sake he sould be playing IF wenger stopped playing him wide. Full back is a BIG issue here Song was always drifting wide to cover and help the full backs leaving gaps in the center of the park.

really Arsenal is nowhere the team we knew a couple of years ago with a free confident flowing football And having some poor ball to feet defenders like Koci and Mertasaker DOESNT help at all keeping posession. The amount of ball that we lost cause the defenders couldnt play ball to feet was horrible.

I think with our proper defence and replacing Chamack and Arshavin with quality we still have a great team easily capable of finishing within 4th.

Our midfield of Arteta, Ramsey and Song have been playing very well and we will soon have Wilshere back. I think Ramsey was trying too hard yesterday.

Our defence of Verm, Merts, Sagna and Gibbs are a very good back 4, so woth our Midfield we just need a replacement for Arshavin. I think Walcott and the ox are good on the right and Gervinho and another for the left. Then we just need another striker we can rely on instead of Van Persie.

Even if we fall from 4th, I think the only manager to get us back into those positions is Wenger, so again I wouldn't want to see him be sacked, but I fear he will leave if we finish outside of the top 4 as he said he would leave if he wasn't doing the best for Arsenal.

But yeah finishing outside of 4th we would probably lose Van Persie and Walcott, which would be bad, obviously especially Van Persie.

Yesterday we played with two centre backs in the full back positions and one of those centre backs has hardly played a handful of competitive games for us and is young.

Ok bobby what if we dont get 4th even next season? now would u want wenger sacked?

im in two minds about wenger again. maybe i will give him the benefit of the doubt if we dont finish in the top 4, maybe not.

What you guys refuse to see is that the gap between the top four and the rest has closed down in two ways:

1. it's clear that at the moment Spurs and City have overtaken Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea
2. the difference between the top and the other teams isn't as big anymore.

People in here are moaning because of lost point against Swansea. Swansea is doing very, very well. At home they are one of the best teams in the EPL...

Why should Wenger go if Arsenal are not in the top 4? Where you thinking that Arsenal will play CL the next 25 centuries? Football evolves, teams are renewing themselves and this takesz time...Arsenal at the moment are clearly a team in transition. The mighty Barcelona have had periods of transition too... Oh and i don't see Van Persie leaving if Arsenal are not in the CL next season (if he leaves, jonney will suddenly agree with me that after all and on second thoughts Van Persie wasn't world class and that as a human he is a prick...).

After seeing what we saw I wouldn't blame Van Persie if he left. He's scoring every game, so he's doing his part. But he's got chumps for teammates and a stubborn manager who doesn't see the error of his ways.

Many think Arshavin should be shipped out, fair enough, his form is in the toilet now. But what about Walcott? Never had a convincing spell. And Gervinho, is quite uneffective. Tricky on the ball, but has no end product, his passing is dreadful and he has no imagination.
Chamakh's a joke of a player and Park (who?).... need I say more? Why the hell Wenger won't ever play this guy??

We've got a lot of dead wood. I mean a LOT. Diaby, who's shite and can't stay fit anymore. Rosicky, who doesn't score a goal in 2 years!!

Ramsey had a horrible and unlucky day yesterday. But you can look further to him being easily dispossessed for their 2nd goal. And further from Arshavin's weak pass. It's the casualness of shuffling the ball carelessly in our own half, in dangerous areas, as if they were playing 5-a-side on a Sunday.

Our defensive system is laughable. Our players just switch off, there's no concentration, it's as if they don't take it seriously. In their 2nd goal Ramsey got dispossessed like a 4 year old, never attempted to protect the ball and even jumped the tackle! And then it took Song like 10 seconds to react and try to follow Dyver. And where the f*ck was Miquel?

Their 3rd, again, total lack of concentration. Where was Miquel?? Koscielny taking a nap, playing Graham onside, and Scszscszesny hesitating to charge out, stayed in the middle of the road and got his angles wrong. Everything wrong in that defense!

Funny that you see other Premier League sides really get fired up when they equilise 2-2 like we did. Any other team would've been all over Swansea, putting them against the ropes and pressing relentlessly for a 3rd. But not Arsenal. Typically, they imploded immediately. Players go into self destruction mode. There's no such thing as momentum for Arsenal, is there? You work hard to score and then you fuck things up...

Finally, I'm sick and tired of getting ripped off on penalty decisions. Pundits also seem to condone diving against Arsenal, don't they? Not a word on Dyver's theatrics. Whereas 2 years ago Eduardo's dive rendered him a 3 match ban, media campaign and what have you.

Despite being very much pissed off, I have to congratulate Swansea on their approach to football. You don't see other promoted sides playing like that, and I hope others follow suit. I hope they can prove that a promoted side doesn't have to kick the shit out of others to try and stay in the Premier League.

PS: I heard Henry had a spat with a fan, supposedly someone was blaming him for what led to the 3rd goal? I can't believe someone would do that to Henry, really can't!

I think we have shown when we have our full team playing (Or nearly playing as it seems we can't get our full team at one time?!) we are a match for any team in the league and I really mean that.

You can pick the game apart yesterday, but most of the mistakes were from our defence one of which just came back from having some virus (Merts) and two playing out of position because of our injury crisis at the back. One of those players being a young prospect playing out of position and his naievity showed yesterday.

Ramsey worked very hard yesterday but as I said too hard and wasn't concentrating properly. There are people slating him today aswell, to be honest if our fans keep slating our players after they have one bad game, then I don't blame any of our players fucking off.As for the Fan arguing with Henry it just shows that some of our fans are arseholes.

I think Walcott had a convincing spell in the first half of the season, I have said why not so long ago, so I wont go into it all again. He is always going to be a threat to any defence and on his day can create and score goals. He has set up alot of Van Persies goals, the ball just doesn't appear on Van Persies feet for him to score.

Arshavin I have spoken about. Diaby I think is a good player and could be great for us, but his injuries may never let us see him properly, so It might be best to get rid of him. Rosicky is having some good games this season and his game is more about passing and reading the game more than scoring.

Chamack is just a shadow of a player and hopefully something magical happens to him in the ACN that he finds his confidence again, or he definately needs to go.

Gervinho again has just started with us and I think he has had a decent first half of his first season with Arsenal and I can se him getting much better with a bit of time.

I would like to see the Ox get more playtime, Wilshere come back and our fullbacks and I know we will perform.....just hope it isn't too late by that point.

We definately need a striker though to ease Van Persies burdon.

Oh and the penalty we just have to chalk down to the many wrong ref decisions this year.

We cannot be holding on to the injury crisis excuse. Every team is subject to injuries. Man United had to play Carrick as centre half and also had to shuffle all of their back four. Valencia has been playing RB recently! And they have a GK issue, with De Gea struggling, so they're using that other new guy.
We have a better keeper IMO, but apart from that we seem to take everything much harder than we really should. The defensive frailty is down to philosophy and sheer organisation and hard work at the back.
The 2nd and 3rd goals originated from schoolboy mistakes and it showed how we lack organisation. Individually, the defenders in our squad are quite good in their own way: Vermaelen, Kos, Mert, Djourou. But when together, even when we have our fullbacks, they don't look good enough. Our defensive system/philosophy are crooked.
Again, the likes of United have to shuffle their defenders around but they don't gift stupid goals as we do. Their makeshift back line obey to the letter what it's asked from them... while ours don't. Either that, or AW completely neglects this aspect of the game.
Playing this spineless football at the defense and this "less than objective" style up front, we are going to struggle to secure Europa League, let alone CL football.

If we beat MUTD everything will change. Wenger will never leave not on what he has Power , Raises ⁿ£££ , His main objective is keeping the club run above the red every year!

We get Someone new they will want a new staff, new medical route out everything of Wenger . That can take lots of changes , in training, dressing/ back door . The new approach to the game and the way we`ll play. Then, spend, spend ,spend..... debt, debt oh now we have 4 trophies ,but are sitting £500m in debt. Wenger has his claws deeply routed into the club he is setting up to go on the board before leaving the club it won`t be chairman Pete Hill-Wood ,but Chairman Wenger!

I would like to see another club other than Man United deal with Man Uniteds injuries etc. They are the exception not the rule, they have a magical ability under Ferguson to fall in shit and come out smelling of roses. Most clubs that have the injuries we have had would suffer, so I do think we have to definately take it into consideration.

Having an injury crisis in defence is not an excuse it is a reality, the only way Wenger could counter it is to buy 5 right backs, 5 left backs and 10 central defenders.

I think our defenders were getting better and better at defending as a unit, until all of the injuries happened. Most of our defenders seem happy playing with Verm and we look more solid with him.

Its no coincidence when we had most of our back 4 and other players fit this season we climbed right upto the top pack of the table, so again I think the injuries are having a big effect.

But I alsao do agree that more defensive organisation and training should be done, but from what was being said it was....and then we had the injuries.

Anyway, I don't necessarily think yesterdays loss was Wengers fault, he had the best defence out he could have had and the players sloppy play and mistakes were the difference...and a penalty that shouldn't have been.

I am not saying we have a team anywhere near world beaters, but again it is not as bad as people are making out.

That was a very good post Bobby...
It's too soon to write Gervinho off.
Rosicky had serious injuries, let him be a year injury-free and he will be a very important player.
As for the fans criticising some players: it is well known that football is very, very popular...so the odds are strong that among the fans in and around a stadium, there a lots of idiots...

I was reading in the Liverpool thread that some fanse deperately want Dirk Kuyt out, because he is not good enough anymore. Kuyt is an example of a player who always gives all, maybe not the most talented and flashy player, but a very usefully player...and now suddenly he has to go. Those are the same fans who cry wolf when Torres goes to Chelsea... I deliberately choose Liverpool, Kuyt and Torres, but ...
