Arsenal Thread

To be fair the Spurs fans also misbehaved and i thought Harry was rather hypocritical in only mentioning the misconduct of the Arsenal fans...i've lost a lot of respect for him since that (and before that i didn't like him much either...let him go to the national team ASAP...).

You can still play the 4-2-3-1 but you need to bring change the system a bit, the back four is a an obvious problem but I think that's an internal problem that needs solving rather than signings.

the 2 is where you still possess the quality, a combo of "Wilshire-Song" is brilliant and a great base, the likes of Ramsay, Arteta and Frimpong, Coqeulin are adequate cover for both. I think the final third is were you could do with freshening things up a bit.

Don't think so bebo, I pretty much agree with YoungGun about this one, a Wilshere-Song combo will be great because those two player combine creativity (Wilshere) and strength (Song), two very important aspects in a 4-2-3-1 system (well, at least in my own concept of that system :P).

Wilshere would be better in an advanced position. Wilshere is an outstanding player and playing pivot doesnt provide the best out of him. He need to play that AMF spot. Mvilla and Song in a pivot role assure posession. Mvilla is a deadly player if you dont know him yet. hes passe completition is above everyone else.

In Romania there's talk about Gabriel Torje (currently Udinese) is on Arsenal's radar. Nice! A tall, strong defensive midfielder...

well, not quite. he's a... short quick winger!

winger for wenger. maybe arsene should go more to KFC, the wings there are cheaper.

i'd like to see once a 4-4-2 with RVP and Chamakh up front. it won't happen, i know. but i'd like to see wenger at least try something else, because whilst 3 forwards sounds good, actually the opposing 2 CB's have just RVP, and the full-backs have the wingers but they're helped by midfielders. So we're always marked 2 for 1 of our players. when we bring more players to support the attack (e.g. fullbacks, CM), the 2 CBs are left alone helped by maybe another 1 or 2 players.
and let's not forget how low pressure we exert and players not tracking back.

Lol I read that. I read that he was being called the Romanian Messi. So when I was reading that you said that he's an tall strong DMF, I was like: WTF?

Probably our team today:
-----------------------Szczesny-----------------------

Jenkinson---------Koscielny---------Mertesacker--------------Gibbs

------------------------Song--------------------------

--------------------Ramsey-----Arteta-------------------

---Walcott----------------Van Persie------------------Gervinho

We need to build on this win now, including the champs league game this week. Then hopefully we go into the Chelsea game on the back of a few wins and can get a result against Chelsea, then we will be on our way :))

We definately need another striker to take the pressure off of Van Persie though. But he seems to excel under the pressure....if he gets injured though we are buggered!

Glad the football is back :DD

It depends if we can get a really good quality striker and hopefully players like Walcott and Gervinho/Arshavin will start chipping in with goals aswell.

RVP was always a vital key player in our squad. His injuries spell made a missing factor like Vermaelen . RVP been playing and seem to be over the niggling injuring that had him on sick note for 3 season.

Hopefully the squad`s horrid run will make them bond and build mental strength . The Transfer window is months from and now. Gervinho, Song and Chamahk will need replacing...For now CL we need a result !!!

There are strong rumours that Arsenal are after Anderlecht's Lucas Biglia. Another cultured CMF/DMF who is nice to watch, but IMO not the kind of player Arsenal need (but boy sometimes he is a joy to watch).

Just saw the Van Persie turn and chip! was fantastic, just like Bergkamp :))

Wes Browns challenge on Walcott was bad.

But we still look dodgy at the back, we need to sort it out quick time!

The backline doesn`t seem to hold the line well kosc seem to allow players to stay on sides. Karl Pilkington get pushed off the ball so easy big liability!!!!

Even Song knew at the start of his career ,playing safe 1st he used to square pass every-time he had the ball. He was very shaky at least he knew he was a beginner driver. Carl should of kick the ball out.... but , No! he had to turn w/o the signal blinkers and speed the round bouts ffs! student driver

Sagna,Gallas n Pires ....once a gunner always a gunner ;)

What's wrong with Park...to my knowledge he has never played until now...why bother buying him then? Seems a waste of money if he isn't used...IMO he is a very good player too.

I'd like to see Park play aswell, haven't seen anything live from him since the Shrewsbury game wasn't broadcasted anywhere...

Benayoun has gotten something under 2 games worth of minutes on the pitch? Arteta is a great buy so far though, I'm very happy with that one.

massive result , ref wasn`t great they missed Diarra`s blatantly handball :P . The match was very boring... closing half the stadium they missed out on fans buying tickets

Was a good game on our part, apart from a few early worries the defence looked good. Koscielny stood out, but I think Merts looked good aswell. Song looked pretty good, apart from him trying to take people on in our half.

I think we just about deserved the win in the end but only just, glad we got the goal :DD good win away from home.
