Arsenal Thread

just read that Cesc basicly was 8 years at Arsenal..it´s a big number imo..some players leave before but 8 years is quite impressive..considering the young age he started..people don´t realise he was there at Highbury.. i think now if i look back probably he was seeking home move more than i thought..

on other note.. he is just 24.. Arsenal should make this policy..sign players like Fabregas when they are at best age, not sell them as grown players away...

If we just did that we would miss out. get in players young build them up and hopefully the will play for your team, if not sell them for much more than you bought them for.

You can never stop a player leaving (for the long term anyway, maybe a season you can keep them), contracts just give you a bit more leverage with price etc if a player does want to leave then they will leave.

You just have to hope that they don't want to leave. In our case we have two players that want to leave. People are having a go at Arsenal for not signing up Nasri on a contract way before now, how that it is criminal it wasn't done?! Nasri obviously did not want to sign a contract and it wasn't a recent thought imo. If you think that Arsenal didn't want to sign him up to a longer contract much sooner then I think those people that think that are very much mistaken. You can't force a player to sign a contract.

It's all very unfortunate but I don't blame Arsenal for either situation. But I do blame them for how long they have let it go on for and of course not acting sooner in the market to get players in.

This weeked we saw all of the other 'top' teams struggle (Still have to wait for City tonight), that will all be put down to it is the start of the season, for us it is a catastrophe and highlights all of the problems we have, which is a load of bollocks.

It is such a thin line as I have always said, if we would have got that pen (maybe two) then we would have won 1-0 with a solid defensive display away from home with those two players missing, plus Wilshere who was one of our best players last season.

Anyway I hope we show what we are made of against Udinese, I am praying we do well!

i know what you mean but obviously Arsenal lack a leadership on field..there is nobody i could think to drive the team..you need more ugly playing players if you know what i mean...

i realy hope you sign Barton, Cahill..

you play great football but you need someone who will consider arsenal the final destination despite being top class..

you should sign world class players from top teams not 16 yo kids.. from 2. french league....what´s the point then? you sell Chamberlain, Gibbs, Wilshere in 5 years again?

hope not but if nothing chainges, i realy can see it happend already..

We are getting more British players on board, so that should help. Gibbs, Chamberlain, Walcott, Wilshere, Ramsey. Wilshere is an Arsenal supporter and has been at the club for years, he is a great hope for the future and the longing Cesc has for Barcelona Wilshere will have for Arsenal.

It really is funny how people take Fab and Nasri as what we always do?! we usually get rid of players when they are mostly past their best, so I really don't know where this feeder/selling club thing comes from?! it is all part of people panicking and spouting rubbish.

Yes we should get some more established players of an older age, of course and we have done that aswell. We bought Arshavin, Chamack, Koscielny, Schillachi, two of these happen to be defenders which Arsene brought in to try and remedy our weakness at the back. But people still say Arsene has done nothing to make our defence better? well he did, he brought in two defenders, one looks good and the other not so good, but that is what happens when you buy players.

Some people need to sit back and actually assess what is actually going on and what has gone on, calm down and make valid judgements and stop jumping on the band wagon.

By the way if we sign Barton I will personally run onto the pitch with a baseball bat and kick the shit out of him, he is a dispicable player who I really don't want to see at the club at all.

Bobby i know this players are young and possibly stay with arsenal for long..but as supporter you know you need to stay in top 4 and win a title at least.. or fight in CL.. with this kids its possible, but you need to win now.. the PL is very though and if Arsenal slip from top 4 then there is other teams who can easy stay there for long.. City for example..even LFC are going up in terms of squad depth and quality imo..

I wish arsenal all the best since i like this club and it´s my favourite after LFC, but you need to take action NOW. not in year, or two... or it might be to late..

PS: Barton or a type of player like him would be needed at Arsenal, not in terms of quality, even if he is decent player, but in terms of being a angry player who never fear of fight.. this type of player i miss in Arsenal..last time i saw it was Viera..

I'm fine with all of that and I agree, just that I don't agree with us dropping out of the top 4 just because we have lost Fab and Nasri. There is alot more to our team than them two.

Fab has been injured quite a bit over the last two seasons and Nasri was only great at the beggining of last season.

I love Fab and I wish we would have done more with the team while he was with us, but it didn't happen, one of the reasons was the financial situation and building the stadium, which we will profit from for the next 100 years and can build on.

It isn't as bad as people are making out, that is all I am saying. We better not get beaten by Udinese now! :PP

i don´t think it´s bad with Arsenal at all, but this will show during the seaason after all.. then we can talk after that about it.. everyone has to prove everything on pitch.. i rather see you in top 4 than Man. city any day.

any my team of course :P

I heard what the fans were singing about me on saturday and it is really disrespectful because i'm still a arsenal player

To be fair, he seems pretty certain to leave and the main reason being a mega pay packet at City, what does he expect the Arsenal fans to be like? Pleased for him to go?

To be truly honest I do think a large portion of him wanting to leave is to win stuff, but I do think the money is a big reason aswell.

I just think he could have gone around it completely differently and given Arsenal a bit more ground to get more from his sale. Lucklily if reports are true we can get alot of money for him if we sell him to city, but that might not have been the case.

It just seems like he was waiting for the right time to go and didn't really give a shit about the club. So the Fans don't give a shit about him, so he can fuck off :DD

Good luck to Cesc, but Nasri can fuck off to City and I sincerely hope with all my heart that he wins fuck all with them.
There was gossip of a possible switch, him for Carlitos Tevez because the Argentine is unsettled at Manchester. But I couldn't see it happening, even if it was just a loan spell for Tevez with us... his wages are outrageous and he said he wanted to move from England anyway.

As for Barton, he's the most disgusting piece of shit to disgrace the English game in a long long time. I can't remember that level of cuntness in any other scumbag of recent history... It's ironic that if he concentrated only in playing footie he would be a quite decent player.
But I cannot even entertain the thought of him in an Arsenal shirt.

I may be pissed off at Wenger and moan about the lack of activity in the transfer market, as well as letting our problems pile up until the season starts... but I'll still support Arsenal in sickness or health.
But if Arsenal ever signed that cunt Barton I think I'd have to put my feelings for Arsenal on hold. Until he went to jail or got banned from the game, or something.

Well, idiot Song got what he deserved:

Alex Song, Arsenal and Newcastle to face FA disciplinary charges
• Song faces violent conduct charge for Joey Barton stamp
• Arsenal appeal against Gervinho's three-match ban

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/...ign=Feed:+theguardian/football/rss+(Football)

Oh, it's started earlier this season, hasn't it?

OK, Song was quite stupid doing what he did, no smarter than Diaby. Talk about mental strength.

However, this bit shows what a disgrace the FA really is:
"Barton received a yellow card for his part in the melee and as such has already been sanctioned."

Say what? already sanctioned?? The ref might not have seen the incident from the start, but if they analysed the video and still think a yellow is enough, than things are more fucked up than I imagined.
If what Barton did grabbing Gervinho by his shirt, which has sparked the whole melee in the first place, isn't red card worthy then I have to reaffirm what a fucking disgrace the FA is.
It was unacceptable behaviour and violent conduct. Protecting a renowned thug like that is an insult to football and justice.

Oh, and what about the language he used against Gervinho? If someone scores a goal and uses the "f" word like Rooney did, you get banned. But you can swear as much as you want, as long as you're grabbing someone by the neck and tugging them about.

I'd like to meet whoever takes them decisions in the FA disciplinary boards and give those sodding cunts a piece of my mind!

Fuck the FA, the fucking bastards!

Its that stupid rule, if the ref has seen the incident and acted then it cannot be overturned.

Ridiculous rule that needs to be changed.

But Both Song and Gervinho got what they deserved, shame Barton didn't.

Oh well... I didn't know there was such a rule. The referee whould be heard again anyway. If he claims he didn't see the whole incident, Barton's punishment could be changed. But if he claims he actually saw everything, the ref himself should be sanctioned.

This just isn't fair and Wenger is absolutely right IMO. It's either 2 yellows or 2 reds.

And to mention that the Song stamp fuelled the incident is ludicrous. Everyone knows Barton is an idiot with a short fuse.

Just read this on Twitter..

@gunnerblog: ''Eboue touches down in Turkey, just as Gala's chief exec arrives in London. Miscommunication issue. Only Eboue...''

An idiot savant till the end...

hahahaha

After this I'm afraid Galatasaray's board might reconsider signing this genius. "Come see Eboue! You've only come to see Eboue!" :D

Must suck to see Cesc leave after 8 years. When Kaka inevitably left, I was heartbroken and will take him back with open arms. I still get goosebumps seeing him in a Real top.

:CONFUSE: Really? Quite comical!

I think Barton deserved a red and more than one match ban for being a usual suspect. I watched the match and I totally despise this kind of players.

Let's hope Wenger finds good players to sign because I didn't like much what I saw, though I think Arsenal played as well as Man United. The difference is that for some reason Man. Utd players have that competitive DNA that you know they will score and scrap a win at the end. That's what Wenger needs to add to the team now.

Yea good one cesc. u made teh rigth decions. Fuck playing under wenger and the current board. Cesc if you want to become a true legend, you have to do it in a top club and arsenal are NOT a top club.

Next up Nasri, followed my RVP in january or next summer transfer window with possibly Wilshere following suit.

Dont blame any of oour best players leaving us. Who the fuck wants to play for a club who only cares about finishing 4th? Sorry but if your a player wishing to advance in there career by u know, challenging for top honours and occasionaly winning it, Arsenal are not the club anymore.

Arsenal can now be classed in the same catagory as Spurs and liverpool.

All Hail to the mighty Wenger, the best manager ever in the world who always is right with his tactics and decisions and no other manager in the world can do a better job:SHOCK:
