Arsenal Thread

Well I still think this team can beat any team on their day, but there is something wrong with the mentality of the team that disables it. This is what needs changing, but unless he gets them all hypnotised then I don't see anything changing.

If our team were strong mentally then I do think they can do very well. But they are not :))

I do think having a good stable keeper which I think Scez will be (but he is still young) and the return of Vermaelen will strengthen us alot. But we still haven't got a player to fill in for Song and we are realying on Gibbs who is injury prone and Traore who hasn't proved himself at all for the left back slot.

But if Arshavin ups his work rate and Walcott and van Persie can go through a season without long injuries, then I do think we can do really well.

It's tough, but if Arsene doesn't do much and we are at the top of the league in March, I will still be expecting it all to fall apart. I hope he proves us all wrong as I don't want to see him leave. But he isn't giving me much hope at the moment.

Another problem is that yes our first 11 playing a game with no pressure can wipe the floor of anyone but when theirs pressure and when we have a few key players injured, we cant even beat teams fighting for relegation.

Basically the mentality is dogshit on ALL our players and our backup players are fucking pathetic and not even championship/division 1 standard.

We cant even flog denilson, almunia, bendter, eboue and diaby. thats how pathetic they are

I wouldn't say all of our players, but I agree as a collective it just isn't working and needs freshening up.

to say that our backup players are championship/Div 1 is over the top aswell.

Just because we haven't sold them yet, doesn't mean they won't go. Bendtner and Denilson have had interest and I would be extremely suprised if they are still here at the beginning of the season. Diaby I always think could be good for us if he can get a run without injury, but I wouldn't shed a tear if he went. Eboue there will be teams after him, we wont get much money but he will go. Almunia aswell has had interest.

There is still a month and a half to go before the transfer deadline.

Problem is the wages for those players, not many clubs will agree paying the same as they get at Arsenal. As discussed before, failure has been rewarded with higher wages on their contract renewals.

Bendtner only goes because he thinks he's 1st team material. If he was satisfied being a squad player, I wouldn't mind him staying, provided he would be played as CF, not a winger! The same goes for Eboue, a versatile squad player, nothing more.
But as for Denilson, Almunia and Diaby, they all should go ASAP. I doubt about Diaby though, which is a shame, he's ridiculous and one of the worst players I've seen in an Arsenal shirt lately.

How do you like this article?!
It is just so ridiculous!
Now even Fab home cities mayor talking about this deal!
And saying that we are handling the deal inappropriately!
OMG when will this SHIT stop i am so tired of it!

HAHAHAH
Hey Arsene, I wanna be kidnapped too! Earning mere £100k a week and living in a boring place as London. I'll ask for less money ;)

Ivan Gazidis should write "Go fuck a pig" on a paper napkin and have it delivered to this Estanislau prick.

BREAKING NEWS guys!! It is 2 good news and 1 bad news in one.

1st good news: Denilson is fucking off at last! :)

Bad news: it's only a 1-year loan, apparently. He's off to São Paulo FC, his former club.

2nd good news (at least to me): My club Fluminense narrowly missed out on him! That's GREAT! it's like a reinforcement not having Denilson. God knows I had to put up with him at Arsenal, I think I didn't deserve him at Flu after all :)

I dont want rumors I want Denilson on his way to finalize a loan move. To the higher class of Barcelona ...the ransom fee is £44m and we will deliver the hostage back and by the way we made him a top class footballer over the years :BLEH:

The guy from the British blog quoted it as a rumour, but it is really happening. It's all over the news in Brazilian media already.

Time to ressurect teh talk on how imoral barcelona are with thsi fabregas debacle.

They are now saying how fabregas has been kidnapped by arsenal. come on thats a bit extreme?

What can u say about that lads?

Barcelona's Mayor has likened the situation to a kidnapping. I've never seen so much action from a Club, Club Officials, Club Management and other individuals linked to the club to unsettle a player.

Barcelona are seriously pissing me off. utter desprectful pieces of shit they are. If i was arsenal, even if they bid 100m for fabregas, i would not sell them to barcelona but instead have a talk with RM and say his all yours for 30m. we'll gift wrap him to ya.

Seriously what the fuck is Barcelona as a clubs problem? their managers, players, mascott, their chef and now their fucking mayor is having pot shots at arsenal.

Utter nonsense

It wasnt the mayor of barcelona, to start with. It was the mayor of Arenys de mar, the town where cesc is from and the mayor is a known friend of cesc father... So maybe the club is not to blame fr this one... I hate sports journalism and how people use it.

It seems Hangzhou Greentown gave us a game, 1-1!

Don't know what to make of that, it's pre-season and all, Psycho Squilla and other 2nd stringers were fielded... but it's not encouraging at all.

whether your correct or not, it doesnt matter. it is making barcelona look bad. anyone bound to barcelona whether its aex major, the post man etc etc, it all reflex on barcelona club.

Drekkard is right it was the mayor of the town where Cesc comes from I think. Barcelona can't control what everybody says, this mayor guy is obviously stupid.

On this occasion you can't blame Barcelona.

1-1 draw pre season is nothing to worry about either, it's all going to be fine :DD

they cant control what he says but it still doesnt help barcelona does it?

say if you was my boss and the place i grown up and learned my trade wanted me back and that area, the post man pat makes a remark on u saying how u kidnapped me from that place.

how would you feel? would you feel more inclined to do business with that place and let me work there?

doubtful. It doesnt matter that post man doesnt work for the place i use to, it reflects on the place i use to work.

I don't think it really harms Barcelona, most people that have common sense can see it is just an opinionated fool making a comment.

I doubt my work would give a fuck what the postman says  they would probably ask why the postman was saying that and I would go 'I haven't got a clue, he is obviously mental' and then they would just get on with things as usual.

Jonney, i think you are exagerating.
What would you do if you were playing for Barcelona and received an offer from Arsenal while your future team mates would be excited by the prospect of playing with you...maybe you shoulds try to see it from that side.

Sorry Gerd, I don't understand that?

someone playing for Barcelona recieves an offer from Arsenal? are we talking about the Mayor still? I'm confused?

uhh? recieve an offer from arsenal? for who? its the other way round. barcelona are pruncing around trying to get fabregas on the cheap!

i bet we gave him 70k salary

knowing wenger and the board, paying high salary for unproven players is why we cant afford world class players already proven

Rubbish, they are damned if they do damned if they don't.

Paying young players higher wages and giving longer contracts to them when they show potential is a gamble by anybody. If you don't then they may reach their potential and then might fuck off for cheap, if they don't reach their potential then its good business and vice versa.

They have to make decisions on what is happening at that moment, nobody knows how a player is going to turn out.

Football is full of gambles, some pay off and some don't. Denilson a few years ago had great potential, Bendtner a couple of seasons ago was knocking in goals relatively young for a striker in the premierleague and Diaby has shown glimpses of being a great player. Who was to know that these players wouldn't reach where we thought they might be?

To say that is why we can't afford proven world class players is not right at all. We can afford them, but they would rather be somewhere else or are getting ridiculous wages from much richer clubs.

My last post was purely hypothetical.
Jonney (or every other Arsenal fan) is a football player and he plays for Barcelona. He recieves an offer from his favourite team (Arsenal)...what would he do?

Like i already said countless times, i really don't understand all the commotion. Well i understand that Fabregas is an icon and that Arsenal would (rightly so) be upset if he would leave...But i can't understand why you people are speaking about moral values where this is just a piece of business...

But we will never agree on this, so i should let it be...i'm sorry. It seems that European fans are different from English ones.

I saw cahill last night in friendly I asked him about joining Arsenal. He gave me the nod I know he wants too! He doesn`t look as tall in person ,but he was telling his backs n commanding very well vocally.

I thought that about Phil Jones too - saw him and he's really not as big as he 'looks' on the pitch. Odd. Whereas Chris Smalling is f*ckin massive, despite kinda being hunched up all the time.

Would be a good signing for you, classy player.

Not to sound too racist but I prefer an English backline. Im not convince with the french connection it has never worked in the past.
