Arsenal Thread

Capello won the CL with your club.....

Anyway, Juve have some deep-seeded problems, which are exposed in Europe. These performances are the club unworthy, and honestly the team needs a majour overhaul.

Congrats to Arsenal, you fully deserved it.

Should have said post-Milan;)

You are my Arsenal,
My only Arsenal,
You make me happy,
When skies are grey,
You'll never know just,
How much I love you,
So please don't take my Arsenal away.

That is a fantastic achievement which is technically a make shift back 4 but I can only see Flamini getting replaced.

The first legs at Highbury again which I'm pleased with. Hope fully we can get the odd goal, extend that record and go to their place to cement our place in the champions league final.

Matty Flam has been outstanding for me. He's not as technically gifted as Cole or as good a dribbler as Clichy, but he flies into every challenge and his commitment is spot on. He's got this knack of hounding players on that left side so that they have no space or time on the ball. It's not pretty defending but it's worked a treat so far. I'm starting to wonder if we can justify replacing him.

Cashley is gonna have to play out of his skin IMO as he now has two very capable deputies waiting in the wings.

Totally agree mate, no more fucking us about cause he's not unreplaceable. Take the piss and you're out son!

Flamini's attitude is so much better, no arrogance. He works with the team. Ever since the the tapping up thing I haven't seen Cole in the same light. He looks arrogant and cocky and I think we could probably do without that kind of player in the changing room. This young side have bonded well now and I don't want that tossbag coming back and ruining that.

Mediawatch on football 365 have come up with some classics today

1) Stats You Never Read In The Papers
The number of Arsenal opponents dismissed in the ten years that Arsene Wenger has been manager.

2) The In-No-Way-Made-Up Interview They Didn't Want You To Hear
Emmanuel Eboue:

"I think it was about the 70th minute I suddenly notice my shorts felt heavy. I reached into my right pocket and noticed there was a little Czech International footballer with long blonde hair in there! Bugger me for not noticing before, but he must have been in my pocket the whole game prior to that! I think he got sent off a few minutes later."

Do you think that language could be a factor in the defence being tight?

Flamini - France - French
Senderos - Switzerland - French/German
Toure - Ivory Coast - French
Eboue - Ivory Coast - French

Got a feeling that could be it, as they move well as a unit! Hope i havne't jinxed them for Sunday! :(

Also, a point no one else has noted, but can you see Ralph coming back into the team since Eboue is playing so well? I certainly can't!

Come on Stade De France!!!

Great result - Can't believe we have the record of successive clean sheets! with our 'makeshift' defence. Fantastic!

But Villareal look very good - hopefully we play aswell as this.

Yee Ha!!

I mean I'm jealous BECAUSE of his girlfriend. And even if I did fancy him, why would that even be a problem? You got a problem with gays?

He doth protest too Much!!

Only kidding - didn't mean to offend you (even though there is nothing wrong with being Gay)

I like Gays, not like that.....you know what I mean.

what surprise me is hearing Eboue speaking fluent spanish coming out of the tunnel into the pitch to start 2half saying,"We can not stop! let`s run, let`s run and run all night"near him was Fab,Sender,Toure. He was very motivated

That was shocking to hear and see(I love Arsenal):)

Thats pretty impressive. Just 3 games to go now. How long will that last?

For everyone out there who doesn't realise exactly how close the Emirates stadium is to Highbury, here's your answer:

There's pictures of the seats on the official website. There is no grass yet so you wont see picture of that, I think they're seedin at the end of the month.

The stadium is looking good. I was driving past there the other day (i live a ten minute walk away from the stadium), it looks impressive. I cant wait to watch a game there.

We have to have champions league football there next season - we just have to!!

Sunday is so important - Two teams bang on form, its gonna be nailbiting stuff...i'm nervous all ready!

Man U will probably kick us off the pitch as usual - hope we show them a footballing lesson!

Nice stadium ;)

My only complaint (which is equally applicable to the proposed LFC stadium) is that these new stadiums seem a little bit too flat imo. They talk about these stadiums being the optimal conditions for crowd sounds but I'm a bit skeptical (look at Manchester City's stadium for example).

I'm a fan of stadiums which tower over the pitch - making it intimidating for away teams. The Bernabeu and San Siro are good examples.

The best thing coming out of this is that opposing teams wont have to get so close to you gooners anymore.
