Arsenal Thread

It's also easy to forget we haven't had our first team left back since October, or any kind of left back since November.
A left back isnt even half as important missing both of your central midfielders.

Hey Rune, you think Evra will get a go in the team once Gaby is back? Gaby is one fucking brilliant defender! Love his tenacity!!

Only if Cole was more comitted, instead of dancing round Kings Road with some Choice FM DJ all hours of the night! ;)

Hahah as usual stupid media doing lame ass comparisons. Kinda like the dumbass commentators who said today: "Mahamadou Diarra is the NEW Essien lol.. even though he was there and key membert of side BEFORE Essien even joins Lyon and are two different players with different characterisitics/qualities. Or how dumbass commentators keep saying Manuel Fernandes who is a very balanced CM and attacks sometimes even more than defend is the "New Makelele" ignoring the first rule that someone labeled new "Makelele" should be one who is more defensive minded than attack and puts a lot more emphasis on that.

Morale of the story? These comparisons don't usually mean anything because they're not even done by a person usually who knows enough about the player to compare his qualities to someone else. These comparisons are 99.9% of times just pure bullshit and give people the wrong idea about what type of player he is anyway.

Now about Yoann, I said long time ago Gourcuff is a very good player (I think it was September or Oct if you look on Ligue 1 thread archives) even though just 19 and can become a star and has a lot of potential (Thomas knows this) but the way media works is they can't just say that, they have to compare to somebody great just to get this point across which is really sad cuz it often turns out very very wrong or is being compared to wrong players.

Think of all the players who were once labeled the "Next Zidane" in Camel Meriem, Mourad Meghni just to name 2 quickly and look at where they are now and how much like Zidane they really are!!?!?? Not a whole lot apart from having good vision/passing which is just one of the 1000 great things about Zizou!

So there they are again, they can't just say Gourcuff is a talented 19 year old wearing #10 for Rennes already and can be a great player in future, they have to do some stupid comparison just to give some people wrong impression about who he really is (cuz in some ways very different from a young Zidane and Cruiff actually and I can say why if interested but won't as this is already I bet getting quite long).

In anycase looking forward to match tomorrow and hope it's an entertaining one again! :p

Well we lost Vieira, a pretty important member of the team I'm sure you'll agree.
I was only talking about players that are still in the squad. If you're gonna count those, look at how many midfielders we recently sold. All of which would definately be playing right now.

Its kind of a weird situation. Gaby plays LB cuz Silvestre plays on the left of the inside two CBs, which makes communication easy since both speak French. So I was thinking, if Evra plays at LB, Heinze could probably play next to him at CB cuz Evra is french.

As for Cole, he's one of those "hollywood" players who managers seem to lose control over, kinda like Beckham. I just hate players like them. I personally think he should be sold cuz a player like him will never be 100% committed.
Or maybe I'm just jealous of his girlfriend. ;)

Come on Arsenal. Got a feeling we will get a couple of goals tonight because Juve will be all guns blazing. We will soak up the pressure and then kill them off.

I also Agree that We should sell Cole. He is a great player, but we have proved we can play without him and we will get a pretty penny for him!

Your jealous of his girlfriend? why? because she goes out with Ashley? does that mean you fancy him?

I mean I'm jealous BECAUSE of his girlfriend. And even if I did fancy him, why would that even be a problem? You got a problem with gays?

He never said he had a problem, he was merely asking if you find Ashley attractive.

Anyways, I honestly will cry my bloomin' eyes out if we lose tonight. I dont't think we'll ever have a better chance than this year.

This juventus side is THE WORST side i have seen for years! Cant believe this lot are running away with their domestic league, they are poor. Devoid of ideas going forward, slow paced and lazy.

Reason for their domestic success is that they have a team built well for the Italian league and in the same time some cocky players. Capello is also a coach who has always had domestic success. Dont think hes ever won a CL.

Loosing a starting right back, left back and centre back is more important than losing two central midfielders, especially if you are talking about Alan Smith and Darren Fletcher as opposed to Sol Campbell, Ashley Cole, Lauren. And what about Pascal.....no, sorry.

Gigi Buffon certainly demonstrated why he is considered the world's best keeper. He made at least 3 top class saves in the second half to keep Juventus in with a chance to steal the game. Hey, our own Jens seems to be stake a claim for that label. Let's hope he gets to start for Germany in the World Cup.

well done lads although it has not fully for me justified the sale of vieira because of out league position, the results have gone a long way in softening the blow, our young inexperienced defence need a pat on the back, they are now in european history as one of the best and taking into account the teams we have played its a great achievement. im not gunna get over excited and say we will beat villareal cus their a great team (who isnt in the semi final) but afta the quarter draw i wud probably prefered them. on an individual note, how well has eboue performed!!! lightning quick and solid in the tackle, lauren will have some trouble getin bk in the team.

Capello won the CL with your club.....

Anyway, Juve have some deep-seeded problems, which are exposed in Europe. These performances are the club unworthy, and honestly the team needs a majour overhaul.

Congrats to Arsenal, you fully deserved it.
