Arsenal Thread

Maybe its about the money, maybe its not. I honestly think you can't complain as much as you probably should be entitled to simply because you've not been successful, Flamini and Adebayor might not have had great times since they left but both are at AC Milan and Real Madrid and look in much better positions to win trophies while Arsenal haven't done anything since their departure either.

I think if they would have both stayed and Hleb, we would have won something by now, all ifs and buts :DD

But if players want to leave they should just leave and stop fucking about, it is disrespectful to the club they are at. If this goes on for ages with Nasri and then he leaves and we have to get someone last minute, then I will be extremely pissed off.

I can't blame players that want to leave, its just the way they go about it that annoys fans and Nasri isn't handling this well at all.

Reports apparantly that its Arsenal who Phil Jones turned down and not Liverpool, thats Smalling and Jones Wenger's just missed out on to SAF.

Torres described to a tee.

Prices for British players are just ridiculous, it is so fucking stupid

I wonder how much Wenger offered for Jones? He is definately not worth the 16million that is being touted around.

If a player shows an ounce of potential and have half a good season, then they get 15million upwards slapped on them?! even if they have no experience in Europe etc.

yeah I brought that argument to the Pool thread all but one threw mud at it .

So Nasri will sign as it stands Not greedy at all ,but another Player pleading w/ the club to bring in players of quality and not potential quality .

Nobody threw mud at you. People just pointed out that you acted curious: criticising Wenger for not investing enough, and criticising Liverpool for investing.

Those prices are indeed crazy, but they ar the down side of the Premier League being the biggest league in the world. What Liverpool does (buying young promising English players like Henderson) is very good for English football. They deserve praise.

Thing is gerd, Why is it when I bring a subject it`s always counter w/ Arsenal? We need to focus 1 view point at a time . We criticize Wenger for not getting the right player not spending. Wenger talks about spending and wants to buy then does neither .2 cb leave and he brings attacking player.. Then , has the Striker play winger. What most fans find it strange is that Wenger breaks the players mold and try to re-build it. That is frustration forcing players to play different role position and the player is like starting from scratch. NOTHING to do what I brought up in pool thread , but Liverpool spends for the future with starting XI prices I get it. Chelsea n MCity buy massively not for the future but to build success at a rapid rate. Liverpool have been out of the top 4 spot for 2 season and bringing players that aren`t familiar w/ CL . Mutd win because their core is about winning titles and different mentally to the Arsenal players they know CL but that`s it. Liverpool is building a reserve team elite and I hope they don`t ignore their 1st team. Why do I care? Liverpool brings a balance to the league more when they are strong. Plus, I find it interesting that Pool wants to be La Masia II .

I still don't get the Nasri moving rumours. He's about the most Wenger player in the history of the game. Must just be some negotiation tactic. He wouldn't fit in at United at all.

I agree, IMO Nasri is not a player for Man Utd.
But to be fair, Ferguson seldom makes mistakes in his transfer policy...

I dont understand why Wenger is waiting and not buying if he buys big it would be a signal to other players that they might win something next year and not leaving arsenal this summer! We are the only club from top clubs in EPL that had a profit. Why not splash the cash if 6 years without trophies cant convince Wenger to buy big than who or what can??

Don't Arsenal still have like 40 mill a year for the stadium? And is Szczesny your number one keeper now?

Probably because most of the posts are just winges from everywhere (including the pool fans). It's all very well criticising Liverpool for overspending on youth (which is what they are doing atm, but it's a calculated risk imo), but Wenger has been doing the same for years (Walcott, 16m?, Pennant was a record 5m I think back in the day, latest rumour that oxolade is going to Arse for 12m) so it's a pretty pointless critism. Utd signing Jones for 16m after one good season. It's just the market. Yet before Benitez was always criticised for buying foreign. Just get's a bit boring when the club is doing something really positive (spending top money to get their 1st choice targets) and 75% of the posts are moans.

As for the La Masia comment, Benitez brought two of the top coaches over from La Macia 2 years ago to set it up, and it's now producing the early results.

Anyway, are their more rumours for Arsenal signings, seems like it's all selling at the moment (Nasri, Cesc (as usual) and now Clichy to Liverpool.

I read that Arsenal have started talks regarding Hazard, will cost £20m. Not really seen anything else though.

I agree with you Bobby and then i do it myself: Clichy would not be a good signing.

About Liverpool: i'm quite excited about them, i hope they can compete next season...Liverpool are a massive club (here in Europe still seen as the biggest English club) and i want them to win silverware again (just like i want Arsenal to win silverware).

Wenger will do some good transfers...don't worry.

Edit: just read the above post about Hazard. Arsenal should think long term about Hazard. Let him play CL with Lille (and let him stay with his more talented brother who is at Lille from next season). You can transfer him in january or next year and you will have a player with CL experience and a good chance of signing the other brother who might be better...

I've seen Hazard a couple of times with our national team and i'm not convinced...Chadli and Mertens are keeping him out of the team and they perform better with our national team...Maybe it's the system our national team plays, maybe it's the hype (in Belgium he is seen as the next Messi or Zidane, which is ridiculous) but i'm disappointed in his performances... And i have to admit with our national coach that he is not good enough to have a permanent starter place in our national team.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is supposed to be done, £12m.

This is just ridiculous to pay 12m. for a player who played last season in League One. Well i havent seen him playing but he must be realy realy good for this price. The prices of English players are so overrated!

Steer well clear of Tevez and all his baggage.

He'd be rubbishing London in a couple of years.......

It is true the prices for British players are exorbitant esp.when you look at them technically.

But the new qualification rules put domestic players on a premium and part of the problem is the EPL itself.

They've managed to starve the rest of the pyramid of so much money in terms of transfer monies smaller clubs will try and force the price up of youngsters.

We've several excellent Academy players and the side has regularly beaten the London academy sides and Liverpool, Aston Villa etc etc.

When they reach 18 we will contract them and demand as much as we can because of our finances.

Manchester City for example had the cheek to try and sign Sean Murray from us for peanuts .He is now 17 and a tremendous prospect as he showed against Chelsea's academy outshining McEachran.
