Yeah Bendtner is a striker but Wenger used him as winger!
But maybee it wouldn't be a waste of talent becouse Vermaelen is very much attack minded player!But i think it will not happen!
 
There is a rumour on the Guardian website that Arsenal are after Defoe!
I think he would be an excellent player for Arsenal...better than for Spurs.
 
I always thought that Defoe was underrated, and it's a much better striker than Bendtner. But almost everyone is... Arsenal, in my oppinion, needs 3 or 4 world class player, one in each line, to really compete for trophies. It's not new, it's the same situation for the last 5 years.

The problem is there is a lot of money involved in young players in the span of 5 years that could have allowed you to sign 4 great world class players that could now be in your first eleven and make the difference.

Arsenal spends a lot of money in all those young boys. So maybe it's time to redefine the formula and sacrifice potential by acquiring facts!
 
Samba and Cahill would be brilliant, would cost a lot though.

What's the latest on Nasri then, is he going to stay or go?
 
Too much news at the moment I believe nothing....Fabregas is a top bloke personally credit to his up bringing. I too agree That Wenger buys and spends too much on kids a grave mistake. I feel he want players to feel they owe him . Only Fabregas was given that treatment `05 was a year to groom Fab , unlike Jack he went to Bolton.

Everybody is buying English so something is up a new ruling maybe? Wenger wants to emulate Barca very much . They`re miles ahead of us I mean to pluck their chickens just prepare their way back if they succeed. IMO Nasri or Fab will leave if we are to believe this spending spree, remember our highest transfer is £16.5m . Even with the new owner it`s Wenger`s stubbornness at hand :P . Don`t believe everything you read , never take a agent word either.

If I was Cesc I would be extremely pissed off with Barca and the pissing about they are doing, just buy him if you want him.

I think they are trying to try cescs patience so he comes out and puts in a transfer request as they will convince him that they will buy him for cheaper that way and that is the only way he can go to Barca. But It is a dangerous game to play, because even if Cesc comes out and puts a transfer request in, we still aren't going to sell him for peanuts, so Cesc would have a very big chance of shooting himself in the foot.

I think cesc knows this though, that is why he has said the right things so far. But there will come a point when he gets fed up with it all.

If they don't buy him before the middle of July, we should not let them. Otherwise we will be left struggling to buy another player.

We should give them a deadline and a price and make it public, if they don't buy him, its their fault.

Oh come on, with all due respect, but that is a very daft thing to write. That is the way the market works. That is called being attractive. If Arsenal would win everything they would do exactly the same thing.
As a matter of fact Arsenal does the same thing with pretty much 99% of all other clubs in the world. Don't complain when one of the few bigger clubs plays out it's appeal.

I disagree gerd Arsenal`s chairman does Not speak out to get a better deal. No one in Arsenal`s backroom make such arrogant statements . If anything we make a bid that might offend the club ,but not go public about it.

This could very well make Cesc upset and want to prove Sandro he is worth £40m . Also, Sandro might make this noise only to Arsenal for hijacking the youth system. Either way the clubs have pissed off each other . Letting them use our training grounds didnt help :P

Im not bother by Barca antics it`s business at the end of the day!!!

Anyway, if Fabregas stays, he will give 100%...to be honest if i were him, i would not go to Barcelona.
 
Off topic but like to share with my fellow arsenal fans.

i have a new job!

after being in the place im currently in for nearly 4 months doing crap boring work and spending MOST my time browsing the internet due to lack of work AND using a shit slow pc thats 7 years old!

My mate hooked me up with a fantastic opprtunity pay lots more ££ with more potential, projects etc etc.

I think we should sell Cesc I love the bloke and hope he does great at Barca if he leaves. The thing about Cesc is he lack self dignity.
1st he sell his home (speculation)
2nd he dumps his long term girlfriend , she wont leave London she`s career orientated. She not the wag sort.
3rd He hands out parting gifts at the end of the season club dinner.
4th Barca say he not worth the pot to piss in and RM were persistant ,but they gave Ronaldo respect. While Cesc is crawling to Barca on hand n knees .


Cesc has been very careful not to upset Arsenal n Fans . I really appreciate that really do. At the same time Im sure the squad in whole feels disgusted by his timidness n his softness as a man. I think Nasri feels why give so much to a captain that wants to leave I should get more than him I`m here, I will lift the team . I`m a nasty cunt on the pitch protecting the squad not softy Cesc.

Lacking self dignity is a cancer let cesc go and tell Barca £40m and he`s yours all of Barcelona will throw a festival like the prodigal son, The return of the Catalan Son.

Then, we can start to play as a unit not around a single player!It`s always welcoming to come into a club and when your top class it`s never easy letting them go. I could never be happy about losing Cesc ,but seeing Barca disrespecting our captain starts to get to me. Rant over for Now!

I too agree it might be best if he leaves sooner rather than later. I don't want him to go, but if there is the whole Barca thing looming over us all of the time, it must put doubt in players mind, if not conciously then unconsciously.
 
Just look at out major problems of last season. Letting teams come back on us over n over again. We lack more at back then up front! GK- maybe preferably
CB- PL ready made - a must.
DM- always welcoming
ST- no
LW+RW=Wings- yes but not a must

Let us have a strong defense and attacking is never our problem.
 
Sorting out our defence and having players that can play well all season (or most of it)are big problems for us.

i really dont see how saying cesc is not worth over 40 million pounds is disrespecting him. I dont know why barcelona should pay more than 30 million euros for him to be honest. It's not disrespect, just stablishing a price. I think you've got to the point where everything linking barcelona and cesc turns into words like disrespect, dignity, etc... Please, wenger is trying to snap players for free from barcelona taking benefit of legal holes. This is not disrespect, i guess. The market is as it is and expecting sandro to say otherwise is absurd.

He has 4 years on his contract, he is one of the best midfielders in the world. You don't think Barcelona should pay over 30million Euros?! (considering how much players of similar calibre, or even much less are going for?) have you been smoking some fun drugs?

Saying that a player is not worth the same at 24 years old as last year basically saying he is getting shitter with age? talking about him like he is a car a commodity, that isn't disrespectful to a player that loves your club and is supposed to have 'Barca DNA'? basically insulting everybodies intelligence as everybody knows when a players peak is?

Its petty and stupid and if you don't think so then you are more bias than I thought. (and I admit I am bias too :DD)

By all means mention what Arsenal do to your young players, but we are not talking about that now. We are talking about how they are handling the Cesc situation and they are being dicks.

Arsenal are being dicks signing your young players, but that is a different story. (although I still think Barcelona should look at why these young players want to leave one of the best youth set ups, playing for the best team in the world, to come and play for Arsenal? there is something else there that might need to be looked at?)

Bobby: if Jordan Henderson is worth 20 million (and Andy Caroll much more, i don't remember the exact amunt), then Fabregas is certainly worth more than what Barcelona want to give.

But that is not a sign of disrespect towards Fabregas or Arsenal.

drekkard: compares what Barcelona want to give for Cesc with the prizes on the Spanish market. It would be interesting to know how Barcelona paid for Villa. That is not a bad bench mark.

The problem is that the prizes on the English market are over-inflated. Jordan Henderson is a very good young player, but he is not worth the amount Liverpool paid for him, same goes for the CB Man Utd bought from Blachburn.

All this has nothing to do with a lack of respect. But i understand both drekkard and Bobby (can i have an Nobel prize of peace now???)
 
Yeah I do get that.

But when they really want a player then they find the money. they have done it before and will do it again for players that don't have that connection with the club Fab does. They pay silly amounts of money for players in spain aswell, they don't on not established players like Enland does, but they still do it for world class players, which Fabregas is.

But they are saying these things to make Fab put in a transfer request so they can get him much cheaper. (Which they have every right to do, but there are ways of doing it) They are basing their coup on Fabregas throwing away his morals and credibility, so he can join them for a cheaper fee. There are ways of doing business, but if they respect Fab then they should really go another way about it.

Put into the fact that Barcelona like to pay in installments and then take years to pay it back (many clubs do this, but barca seem to do it alot and there have been rumblings that they don't pay back when they should etc)

We should just say to Barcelona, make it public and go 40million pounds to be completed by the middle of July. No negotiation (because we don't have to) and leave it up to them. I'm fed up with all this rubbish.
