Arsenal Thread

Well lets see who comes. there have been speculations about so many to replace Flamini. Wouldnt be surprised if one kid comes and replaces him! if it is then it better be Denilson!

I think Toulalan is too expensive for Wenger. Will be at least £15 million. Lyon are good at negotiating, Essien and Malouda were sold over that price, and Benzema is listed as £20m +.

Lyon ain't good at negotiating they ball-busters!! Really price their players high and teams if they want them have to cough up the amounts!! Who knows the French connection might work here??

Wenger will buy some player who'll be in the range of 8 to 9M. he'll never spend 15M on a DMF, when he has 2 already. and i think Flamini, if he plays well, might even leave AC Milan in just 2 years to go to Real Madrid or even Juventus if they decide to pay him more! or who knows he might even come back to EPL and play for Chelsea as Le Long is getting old now!

haha!! hmm... I hope he doesn't go down the Anelka route it would be sad but wouldn't mind him in Chelsea team if he does his contribution such as "Le Long" has done!! hehe!! But still we would be having Mikel though!!

What are the chance's of Diarra leaving Real in the summer? i heard he wanted to leave before or Real wanted to sell?

i never knew Flamini's father was Italian! He said thats one of the main reasons why he chose Milan (and Juve) rather than other clubs. He said he was a proud Italian.

Looks like Hleb might be leaving too.

He was always going to leave and good riddance!

Great player when he wanted to be - but hasn't got enough heart. He said he wants to leave because he questioned Arsenals lack of silverwear recently etc. We haven't won any because of players like him underperforming for large chunks of the season!!

Flamini I am upset about, because he played very well consistantly for us this season (And previos seasons when he was given a chance) and will be missed.

What makes you lot think Hleb will leave. i'll stick to what i said before and seeing as 1 down if Hleb leaves you won't win anything next year. but most thought you wouldnt be in the top 4 this season and you shut up those critics :)

None of them will leave. Hleb, Adebayor, Cesc-its all bullshit. They still got years left on their contracts. why do you still think Wenger doesnt want to spend much becoz he wants to keep these players by paying them more. and if by chance they'll leave, for sure they'll be priced very high.
and Good Luck to Flamini in AC Milan!!

Quaresma is like 60% Ronaldo, he dribbles average (but too much individualism), his speed is ok (but when some1 surpasses him he will try body touch and then dive) in his mind 1st-Try to dribble one or two players 2nd- trying to make a weird move and shot 3rd- pass the ball.
Thats a normal Quaresma, when he is in a good mood he can do some tricks and even score goals and do some assists but he almost never is.
Not worth buying at all, he will be eating grass in the second game in the EPL..

Quaresma is simply Ronaldo when he first arrived, its quite sad the fact he hasn't improved much compared to his former and at the time regarded as less talented team mate :)

wouldn't take Quaresma over Helb any day!! I hope Cesc, Ade & Helb don't leave Arsenal!! Also Tomas has been impressive sadly succumbed to injury!!

what about the guy from zenit is terrific right now if he got a good euro big club will try to buy him thats for sure.

Quaresma was (and probably still is) more talented than Ronaldo, in terms of natural football skills IMO. But Ronaldo is a far better player, because Ronaldo has a better attitude, and is a much better athlete. It's a shame Quaresma was never under a really top quality coach, as he could have become a really special player (and he still can).

He is also very inconsistent, but almost always turns it on in the big games. He'll be shit against the Derby Counties of the world, but would be amazing against the Top 4, or in a derby match.

Maybe Wenger could get a bit more consistency out of him? Definitely has the talent. But pretty sure he'll end up at Real.

WENGER REVEALS TRANSFER INTENTIONS

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he is searching for a new centre-half to solve Arsenal's weakness against the long ball as well as a 'creative playmaker'.

Speaking at a meeting with shareholders at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, the Gunners boss was unusually forthcoming on his intention to enter the transfer market this summer - and jokingly advised stand-in managing director Ken Friar to stay near to a phone throughout the coming months.

While insisting that his team defended set-pieces as well as their title rivals, Wenger admitted that the Gunners had been vulnerable to long balls aimed down the middle of the defence and vowed to address the fault.

Wenger also revealed that he wants to buy a creative player, although he didn't specify the exact position the player would fill. Already deprived of Mathieu Flamini's services for next season, speculation is rife that Alex Hleb will follow his close friend to Milan, although Wenger remain adamant that the Belarusian will not be sold.

"What people say about the buy-out clause, it is not as simple as it looks," said the Frenchman. "It is much more difficult and the clubs are reluctant to do that [invoke the 'Webster Clause'].

"We want to keep Hleb, we want him to be part of our team next year. It is as simple as that. We have lost one player, we do not want to lose more."

Arsenal are also expected to be in the market for a new centre-midfielder following the departure of Flamini - a shortage set to be exacerbated by Gilberto Silva's exit.

no i guess laszyForken is referring to Arashvin (sorry dont know the spelling properly) nice player was all over the park against Bayern in both of the legs!!
