Arsenal Thread

A complete Barcelona with every1 up isn't going to be an easy match for arsenal. And with messi henry and etoo in the attack, barça can be deadly and win big time, even for an experienced team as the guns.
 
I didn't say Arsenal were better, but you said it would be interesting to see who evolved more.. and that is clearly Arsenal. On paper, Barca have a much stronger team.

Arsenal have evolved more..but would not like to face Barca in the quarters...Don't want Henry squared against us..feels weird..

Congrats guys upon this fully deserved win. Goodbye CL and good luck Arsenal till the end of the tournament (even if I have to be honest, I'd love to see Liverpool winning the CL this year..)
 
Congratulations! A fantastic achievement and if Liverpool don't win the CL, then here's hoping you guys get both the league and the CL :D
 
Yeah my mistake, Arsenal surely evolved alot more but facing Barça will be and incredibly hard game, which i have some doubts arsenal can win with a full squad arsenal.
 
Good game guys. Deserved it. You scored at our best period of the game with pure precision from Fabregas. Kaka and Nesta were clearly not fit and I still dont understand why we never shift play to Oddo who was open ALL game. You guys played simple short balls that made it hard for us to press, well done. Don't think your win was down to speed but down to smart play - good runs everywhere and simple passing. Though Adebayor was very mediocre though and constantly offside.

We didnt finish our chances, and you took yours and doubled when we were desperate. Now maybe we can finally invest in new players and change our way of play as our form doesnt deserve to bring us through.

Hope Arsenal win it now, Prem too. Only English team, along with Liverpool, to play smart and organized football imo.

By the way I have to give credit to Maldini who was our best player over 2 legs. It will probably also be his last ever CL game. GRANDE CAPITANO.

Do you actually WATCH English football Stef?! Liverpool organised?! Is that why they're sitting fifth in the Premiership?!
 
Milanista; I agree, Liverpool are a different outfit when playing in Europe BUT have not impressed me AT ALL in the competition this season.

Arsenal look SUPERB in Europe thus far though, they battered Milan home AND away. As for United and Chelsea, they are getting the job done but like L'pool haven't reached their best. :)

If theres anything we do actually consistently show is that we are organised. We are very hard to beat Plan M, in Europe and domestically. United have lost more games in the premiership then Liverpool. That really is quite shocking.

What we don't have is attacking flair.

Arsenal were brilliant today, I am chuffed for them. And at least Milan are out, I don't want them winning the thing every other year, nothing against them, but it just gets a little boring.
 
Arsenal were lions tonight, a great performance, really fought for everything. I've never seen a premier league team look so comfortable away in a big european match. Superb running and movement off the ball.
 
Walcott's part in the second goal further solidifies my opinion that Sven shouldve brought him on against Portugal in WC2006. He came on and injected a bit of pace against a tired and aging Milan side.

Great display tonight lads.

Can't contain the joy of tonight. What a performance. All the players stood up to be counted, and Flamini was an absolute monster in the middle. We better tie him down to a contract - i can't believe it's taking so long.

Anywho, forward and onward, lets take it a stage at a time. Just very proud to be a Gooner tonight.

His nutmeg on Sagna was just genius. I better get his shirt from this season too. A true servant a la Baresi.

I said this a few pages back: Walcott is suited to sub in at the 70th minute, when cb been jumping all day fighting crosses then his speed will get him in.

Arsenal vs Manutd? to me its too early to tell , but the World is watching the EPL teams in both CL and UEFA . Letting the World know how tough it is to lift a trophy here

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! You outplayed Milan! And I am really, really happy for you lot. Milan really do need a complete rebuild, as they arn't looking likely to quality for the Top 4 in Serie A even. Great work, and well deserved!

Hope We do not have to face English teams in the next round..love to see all english semi final and final would'nt that be some thing...might just prove EPL is the best league in europe.
 
To be honest, I can't hack watching United in Europe with the 4-3-3 formation, we look jaded and make too many mistakes. I much prefer watching Arsenal in Europe.

did you manage to catch Flamini...he was running and biting so much I swore he took Almunia`s gloves on during a save .On a serious note he tackle and pass the ball in the same motion. Imo opinion he has to be our next captain (toure and gallas rep. is abit tarnish IMO :r1 )
 
Flamini is becoming indespensible for us. If he doesn't sign a new contract and stay......I think I might cry!!!!
