Arsenal Thread

i dont know what went wrong at the last moment. i guess the players were upset abt the injury. cud be easily seen on their faces. but even after walcott scored 2 goals, we gave a penalty in the end, it was definitely shite day for us 2day. We did not draw this game. we actually lost it. Losing a player is more than losing a game.

well for starters i hope Eduardo's injury heals and he gets to play at the top level once again.

as for the tackle they wouldnt show it again, but it must be bad if they cant show it, Wengers reaction i think is just the emotions of the day, we lost a player for rest of the season probably next season too if dare i say it his career is over??!?! (pray to god its not) then thiers the penalty given, end of the day nobody, not even the crap sky pundits could see that even though Clichy made a mistake he got the ball, it just pissed me off, another day they would say oh yeah he got the ball, but today nobody has seen the penalty as a bad decsion?????

bad day for us, we should have been won and Gallas reaction at the end summed it up.

can i just add i have just seen the pictures from youtube and i dont care what the birmingham manager or sky crap pundits or the pc brigade at BBC say, its a awful tackle studs up, hits edu's leg exactly half way between the ankle and knee, no wonder it snapped, you just cannot do a slide tackle that high its a horrendous tackle, slide tackle should low and across the grass not like a judo kick at this height, im disspointed in some the comments from so called pundits, you cannot just say he would not do a tackle like that on purpose........he must surely get an extended ban, how long i dont know but not life.

It's bitterly dissapointing to see what happened to Eduardo, as much as I hate to say it there is no way his career is going to be the same again, his foot nearly fell off for crying out loud. Look at Cisse who snapped his leg 3 times, his leg is like a babies wrist right now, how could you ever commit fully to a challenge again without having some kind of thought in your head like "Ohhh maybe I shouldn't do this...". I just watched the video on you tube and almost vomited it. Hard to say what to do with Taylor, I think given his clean track record (in my opinion anyways unless someone proves me wrong) we should give him the benefit of the doubt but he MUST surely come out publicly and admit his wrong doing, or give an explanation/apology. Walcott/Bendtner is really gonna have to step up to the plate in the coming weeks, hopefully we can get RVP back, getting past AC Milan would be a huge boost, we need something positive as there has been a lot of negatives in the past while. As it stands, we are 3 points clear in the league and we have a chance to beat AC Milan in their own patch to qualify for the last 8 in the Champions League. God bless you Eduardo, hope you recover sooner rather than later. Come on Arsenal you can pull through.

this is all goes back to what i said around xmas, we needed to buy a quality defender someone with some steel to play at the back ,although Senderous is doing okay at the momemnent, we should have bought someplayers in, we were still in all these competetions and wenger should have bought some cover in espcially with africa cup, I hate this, it reminds me of a few seasons back when we went out of the carling cup, out of the FA, out of Champions league and then out of Title race, we have a good squad but for once i think wenger should have made the sqaud stronger.

I just hate Arsenal for the fact we always go a goal down and then usually hold onto the win till the last seconds although today we lost it due to a crap decesion, and as Hanson just said on MOTD it was not a penalty.

oh yeah wenger released a statment saying he over-reacted to the tackle with all the emotions and apologise, decent of him.

Aparently, and for the liklehood of Eduardo playing again, the injury has been stated as being similar to Alan Smith's break against Liverpool.

We only can hope it was a clean break of the Tibula and Fibula, and that recuperation is quick.

I feel for the guy. I really enjoyed watching him this season, only one of the few Arsneal players I like :p
His injury is nasty :(

Hope he gets well!

I do not agree with some of you calling for Martin Taylor's head.Even Wenger is saying that he should never play football again! That is an atrocious comment to say the least. I do not thing that there is malice in that challenge to be honest. It happens, shit happens and thats football.I saw the challenge Taylor made and on the Newcastle vs Man U game...there is a lot of simillar challenges but players remains unscathed. The best thing to say about Eduardo is,he is highly unfortunate and that is that.God-speed his recovery.

Tayler tackled Eduardo very hard not aiming the ball thats point one, point two is that they are professional players and in that position theres no place for mistakes as there are millions involved, and as pros they are they should know what they r doing and should be punished hard for their actions, in case they make mistakes.
Tayler is in danger of being marked for life for ending another soccer mate career, and that isn't good at all for his curriculum. So in my opinion, Tayler should get a big suspension, so that other players in the EPL don't start with this and get only 2 games of suspension for the red.
Btw EPL as been doing this a lil too many times lately, some1 better do something about it. =/

The only good thing in this horrific moment is that "only" one bone, his fibula, is broken (even though on some pics it looked like his foot is hanging only on a piece of skin) and if it stays clear of infections eduardo could hopefully be back till next season.
Personally I don't even care that we lost our best goalscorer for the EURO, just wishing Dudu to recover and play his great football again. He really is a nicest a modest guy you could imagine and that makes it even a bigger shame.

I'm not a big fan of Wenger, but he's gone up in my estimation with his retraction of his outburst on Taylors tackle,IMO it was studs showing ,but he didnt dive in and eduardo's speed just got the better of him.Hope Eduardo makes a full recovery and gets back to the level he was playing at before this unfortunate injury. All the rivalry seems a bit petty when someones careers on the line.

Robust tackles happen in the Premiership and thats that. Its a typical English tackle to be honest, its just unfortunate that Eduardo was in the way, without any real commitment...It MIGHT turn out differently if Eduardo goes in that 50-50 tackle with the same aggro and commitment that Taylor had.I dont know but it just might.Like I said before, tackles like those happen in the Premiership...Newcastle vs Man United...Did anybody see Mickey Owen lunge, studs showing while Vidic was clearing the ball away? Its fortunate that Vidic did not break anything in his foot, especially his metatarsals. But if he would so...is it fair to life-ban Micheal Owen?

Rio got the ball mate , clear as day, dunno why you're clutching at straws, and of course the toon army are gonna scream for the decision, they're the worst fans in the country for it.

I know he got the ball, I know it wasn't a penalty. So wasn't Clichy's, but Plan M said it was perfectly acceptable, so I wanted his opinion on that.

Unfortunately, he had a problem admiting he wasn't right...

doesn`t matter when you win 5-1

My point exactly. My arguments are always more intelligent that Schumacker's. His clear bitterness for Man United effects his eye sight.

Let me put it simply:

* Arsenal had ONE extra player for 87 minutes. You should of put B'ham away, you didn't and got punished for it. That is why Gallas was crying like a baby at the end of the match. He knew they'd fucked up.

* United battered Newcastle 5-1. There is no luck involved & we didn't pay the ref. We scored FOUR MORE goals than Newcastle. That's how football works mate - you score more than the other team and you get awarded a win.

To be fair Plan M we mentally were not focus...I`m sure they had concerns for the player and you lots can take advantage on that it`s for the taking. I`m not saying it`s over but it just got abit tighter ;))

bitter and moaning are different...moaning is like a bruise and bitter are like scare

Edit: about Gallas how embarrassing for a minute I thought we were in April

Schumacker is OBSESSED with us mate. Just look at his avatar. Thing is, United supporters don't hate you lot, we are jealous of teams like Liverpool who have won more European Cups than us. We hate the Shiteh too because, well, they are the other team ;)

Anyway, there's always one. You, Clockender, Noted, Bradly etc are great lads; I love our banter.

You are right, what happened to Eduardo made a difference to the match & the Arsenal players minds. Arsenal are still top too, I'd rather be in your shoes.
