Arsenal Thread

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Back to the Top!!

i mean can you really blame these guys for that, not talking to a groundsmna is a little shitty, but i can see why guys would want to be left alone. Some people are just not the sort who can deal with fame and popularity. They must get asked all the time, maybe keano was like an actor, always in character :)

yeah i get that but still...

it takes nowt to sign a few things for kids that had been waiting for hours...

saying that i'd be a prize cunt if I was famous....

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Back to the Top!!

Apparently Almunia has sent Capello a letter saying he's willing to take UK citizenship and play for him!

Can only be a good thing, adding a bit of competition, but personally I'd prefer an Englishman like Robert Green or Ben Foster (when he's back) in goal if Robinson is losing his spot.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Back to the Top!!

Guys, has anyone seen that photoshopped picture of bin laden in a arsenal shirt in FFT ? I'll take a picture.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Back to the Top!!

Have to write this down as I hear it, the secondary commentator of the Arsenal - Brum game today not sure what his name is but I'll find out:

Arsenal 1-0 up in thhe 30h minute: "Birmingham will have to go in at halftime and restrategize, retacticalize as well"

Fabregas gets tackled wrecklessly from behind in 40th minute: "Fabregas will be used to those kind of tackles, but usually giving rather than receiving"

This guy is magic!

OMG I FOUND OUT IT'S DAVID PLATT!!!! WHAT A TIT!!!

60th minute: "The only part of the goals you won't score, right in the middriff of Maik Taylor" (what about the posts or the crossbar David no?)

71ST MINUTE, time speeds up for David when he talks about Brums chances to hold out for a draw: "The clock is ticking away nice and fast for them"

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Back to the Top!!

Walcott lost the ball every single time...every single time. Killed the momentum, but change when he came off he is not a wing(no vision)

Good for B`city they held us w/ 11 behind the ball that`s expected and tbh we had many chances

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Back to the Top!!

I didn't watch the match, but Walcott is overrated. He needs to learn to control the ball.

He needs to live up to the hype. He's had the time, but you know what's going to happen everytime he gets the ball. He passes when he should shoot, and his touch and control is not good at all.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Back to the Top!!

Christ he's only 18 give the lad a chance, hes got some growing up to do physically, when he does that he will prove the doubters wrong.

BTW Birmingham deserved their draw today they defended well, got the luck as well with the goal.

Can't talk about Birmingham having a lucky goal as ours was not penalty. Eduardo is getting in very good shape, he is class even diving :P

Senderos had 'his' moment, but afterall he was solid. If he can play like that next matches, that's ok.

Sad draw, but Arsenal tried.

Your right ! He`s young and in the molding process It was just frustrating to watch.

I've said it for years - Walcott is shit and was never worth the money you lot spent on him. It's time for that boy to earn his stripes, he wouldn't get into my first eleven. Saying that, I don't see the talent that everyone goes on about.

Wallcott needs to get weight lifting , too small shrugged over, also he's not suited to your lot he's more of a dribbler while you lot like to pass, pass, move he for me isnt as good as he's been hyped

Maybe he"s not that good but he's not helped by wenger!why he keeps playing him as RW?just because he got pace?Bullshit!!
the boy he's a CF let him play in his favourite position and you could judge him

I've seen him as CF a few times - he didn't impress me at all which is sad because England could do with another world class, young striker. :(

I think Walcott will come good. He has had alot of pressure on him from day one.

He isn't playing regularly and he is being played out of position 95% of the time.

He is still very young and he will get better and be more consistant. There is no rush!

The whole thing about playing him out of position is what wenger has decided to be his best position , so i doubt we'll see Walcott play upfront for Arsenal even when you look at they have 4 CF's now without including him. for me he'll be sold on in 2 seasons, and will go to a below top 4 team similar to Bentley

Wenger said he was going to play him on the wing to get used to playing in premiership - his pace was more akin to the wing. But he said that when he gets up to scratch he will play in an attacking role.

To be honest in two seasons I see him adapting well and being a great player to watch.

We will just have to wait and see :)

You speak about him like he was in his mid 20's he is 18! I will give him 3 -4 years to show what he is made of. I won't get impatient and I'm sure Wenger won't either. He knows he has the talent and potential and there is no rush whatsoever.

I'm with you Bobby, he'll be class in a few years. I've seen him a few times for the under 21's and he played brilliantly, he has some of the same qualities as Henry. Give him a chance, he's not grown up yet.

And YoungGun, your comment about top 4 team is hardly valid anyway as the frequency of movement of players between the top 4 is so low due to the rivalry.

Wenger should loan him out for a season or two to a smaller club. That would do him the world of good.

walcott is over-rated for his ability in arsenal, 29 apps and 0 goals for a winger/striker ... pato on the other hand same age, debut and a goal already now thats promising!

OMG, you guys are so dam impacient. Give Walcott 3 more seasons, if he is still like that then consider getting rid of him. He's just a frigging kid ! Trust me, imo, giv him time and he will become world class. It'd also help if Arsene actually played him in the middle. Just like Eduardo, he is pants on the wing.
