Re: The ARSENAL Thread - 7th Heaven

That was one of the weirdest games I have ever seen, definitely the weirdest Arsenal/man U game I've ever seen, first of all the atnosphere in The Emirates SUCKED BALLS, this is supposed to be our biggest Premier League home fixture (you could say Spurs but in terms of winning titles we have to leave them out of the equation) of the season, there was 60 thousand people in the stands and all we can conjour up is a few "Arsenal, Arsenal" shouts here and there. I don't care what anyone says, you'd have more noise at a Conference Game, fucking pathetic. I don't know what to make of or where to begin with the result. I think both teams should go home with ZERO POINTS if that's at all possible. How can i describe this game? Arsenal played pinball for a while and never looked like scoring, United were like a a huge ring of spectators around the pinball table that never looked like scoring, neither team stamped their authority on the game although you could say Arsenal edged it in terms of possession and having home advantage. That's quite hard to say as I don't think Arsenal played particulary well, but if I was a neutral supporter there's no way I could look at that game and think to myself "Oh United looked like champions here, they stamped their authority all over this game". Ok, 3 duds today, ADEBAYOR - shit, ROSCICKY - shit, EBOUE - shit, NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY WE LINED UP TODAY, Hleb and Adebayor up front with Walcott and Eduardo warming the bench, ah fuck, I have to stop, I have to stop before I go mad

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - 7th Heaven

I can see a 2-2 draw written all over Saturday, probably gonna be a sloppy game with both teams "respecting" each other. 2-2 is likely but perhaps Lehmann will come on for Almunia in the dying moments and go up and grab a winner to prove his worth to the team. Probable scorers Rooney and Ronaldo and for Arsenal 2 from Fabregas.

Wasn't too far out here in my prediction, I still really think Wenger should have brought on Lehmann for the last 10 minutes, possibly even playing him up front just tucked in behind Adebayor

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - 7th Heaven

We didnt really have the best line up ourselves in my opinion. Other than the obvious absence of Scholes, I thought Carrick should have started instead of Anderson, and I'm not too sure about Brown at RB. I know he does well but he's just not the way I'd like my RB to be. And we should have stuck with the simple 4-4-2 all the way through.
I'd say you more than just edged it in terms of possession though. You controlled the game for the majority of the match, its just that we had the better chances. We should have seen this coming seeing how you like to control the game while we like to beat teams on the counter attack. There was all this talk about two attacking teams going at it but the truth was we're still very different and 9 times out of 10 we'll probably get a similar game between the two.

Fair result though. Just gutted with how late your goal came.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - 7th Heaven

I was really suprised with the Arsenal players reaction at the end, they were celebrating as if they had won.

Only when they start beleiving the fact they they aren't kids will they do anything spectacular

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - 7th Heaven

Arsenal celebrates a still undefeated run in all competitions ManUtd was a strong team RVP surly missed , but I thought the handball should`ve gone our way. Evra almost og  We had so many shots on target at a close range  lets hope we can continue this run and I agree w/ RunEdge Carrick knows our game far more then Anderson probably more than anyone in the middle (not including Master Schole) Fab is leading the top scorer for Arsenal

I don't think its a case where they don't believe in themselves, and they were celebrating obviously cause they came back and got something from a situation where they were getting nothing.

ARSENAL, STILL UNBEATEN, TOP OF THE LEAGUE \\:o/

:D

But what about Gallas. I was sceptical when he was named our captain, but he's done his job superbly so far.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - 7th Heaven

Thoe looks a bit nervous ...remember Fab has the heart of the Old Arsenal a loose cannon from being kick about for 3 season.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - 7th Heaven

Does anyone have a gif of Fab making fun of Anderson after he brought him down and Anderson made the most of it?

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - 7th Heaven

Just like to state in this - being the Arsenal thread, That I hate Man U. I don't like their players or the manager.

They are a bunch of Toss Potts. Just read what Hargreaves has been saying about the match - what a Dick.

Add this with all the crap about us celebrating after the game. Fabregas getting shit for reacting to getting shoved by Rio and their big Red Nosed whining Prick of a manager.

(This is in no way meant to cause an argument with Man U fans - thats why it is in here - I'm just stating my anger - please do not respond)

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - 7th Heaven

i think manutd are upset that even though they did not have much of the ball they were leading and for us to slip one in. It made them feel hard done by hence the scrappy goals and emirates fans are dangerous and now players saying Arsenal aren`t the beautiful football team. It`s normal to attack the other team than looking at yourself in the public eye . I don`t h8 manutd I love the negative talk it means were doing something right...I want more teams h8ing us

Well I was at the game and I can tell you that for the most part the atmosphere was brilliant! We made loads of noise, it was one of the best atmospheres I have been to at the The Emirates. Maybe the TV mics around the stadium were poorly positioned but just wanted to correct you on this.

Eh?? We had just stopped our nearest title rivals from taking all 3 points at our home ground and also managed to hold onto our 25 game unbeaten run. I'd say that was just cause for a celebration wouldn't you?

I couldn't agree more tbh.

The way Fergie makes comments about a few of our fans berating him during the game, what a joke. How long has he been a manager? Surely the standing he has in the game he should expect it. What about the Utd fans who all sing in unison about Wenger being a paedophile? This isn't just a few fans but the WHOLE stadium when we play at Old Trafford. Maybe this has escaped his selective memory!

Exactly. Also the cheek Fergusan has about the Ref Favouring Arsenal. What a joke - Refs at Old Trafford all but lick his balls.

the Ref was frustrating in that game for both sides.

Also it doesn't help the ref when people like Anderson act like complete knob heads trying to get people sent off.

I just hate this holier than thou attitude that Man U have. All the things they are complaining about Man U have done or been doing for years.

Hargreaves pissed me off saying our two goals were scrappy. The first one was great play initially and their defence was shit (Just like our defence for their second goal.

There first goal was a complete miss hit by Rooney - If he hit it like intended it would have either been deflected by Gallas Boot or Alumnia would have saved it. - but it ended up being flicked up and coming off Gallas Hand.

Is that not a very scrappy goal?

Its just a load of Bullshit.

We played the ball around well and had lots of possesion. Man U were brilliant on the break. Thats it - it was a well fought out draw on both sides.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

During the first half when Ryan Giggs was taking a corner, did anyone see some old granny pointing her middle finger at him? LOL!

Yeah I just saw it in the Mirror (the Paper that is - not in my mirror, that would be freaky)

It was very funny

Man Utd probing Arsenal 'abuse'

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/7081581.stm

I think this shows that we have got Utd rattled and they now see us serious contenders. Do you think Demento would be doing this if we were mid-table? Of course not. I am happy because we want the Emirates to become a fortress and this sort of thing can only be good for us. We get a hostile reception every year at Old Trafford so whats the difference?

Its ridiculous - Apparently we chucked out the person that was responsible.

What else do they want us to do gag all our supporters?!

Its just petty - If Alex Fergusun wasn't so much of a cunt then maybe people wouldn't shout abuse at him :)

Also its true (As someone mentioned earlier) its ok for the Man U fans 10s of thousands of them chanting about Arsene being a Paedophile? thats more of a concern and should be stamped out. Rather than a few individuals shouting at Ferguson - only probably calling him a degenerate red nosed fuck, which he is.

I agree that nobody should put up with abuse - but it was shown Arsenal took action. So leave it at that.

That was me that said that...it strikes me that United have double standards. Arsene has never moaned about the abuse he gets, and why should he? That would only encourage them to do it more, he is intelligent enough to realise that it comes with the territory. Next time United play at Arsenal Fergie is gonna get it even worse, what a shame.

Interesting quote from Arsene re Fergie's comments on having a quota system:

"It is not very nice to his own foreign players, first of all. I would not be very happy if I was a foreign player at Man United. If you look at the investments of Man Utd this year, they have invested a lot of money in foreign players."

Spot on and again this looks like double standards from Utd. He complains about our foreign players yet he spent upwards of £30 million on them in the summer?? Knob-head.

Exactly - He is a knob Head.

He has some good english players - but arguably his two best Rio and Rooney he paid a squillion pounds for. We have toure and Van Persie who cost half the price of them - maybe alot less. (I'm not saying that either of those are at the same level - but they will be)

Scholes is only going to last a couple more seasons. Carrick and Hargreaves were overpriced aswell. I'd much rather have Cescy boy, Denilson et al. all our central midfielders - and we have a lot of quality midfielders - probably don't add up to Hargreaves and Carrick put together?

We are not only a succesful football club but a very successful business. We don't want to spend 20-30mill on an english player when the equivelent abroad is half the price.

Anyway alot of our young english players are good and if they are not Arsenal quality then they get sprinkled around the English divisions because they are good. So I actually think we do an alright job concerning English players.

We don't buy them because they are either not good enough or too expensive. all that a qouta will do is reduce the quality of football in the premiership - end of story.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Like Arseblog said: Why spend £20,000 on a Rover car when there is a Seat car for £10,000 which has the exact same specifications?

Transfer that to Toure and Van Persie (combined cost £3m) to Rooney and Ferdinand (combined cost £58m) and you can see how overpriced English players are. The reason they are so overpriced? The lack of quality English players that are available.

The lack of quality English players in the premiership is not down to the amount of foreign players, its do with the fact that there just aren't enough good English players around. Questions should be asked of the FA and the grass roots level of the game and how we can improve the development of English players. Its easy to blame clubs like Arsenal for England's failings but tbh its the FA who is to blame.

I like Arseblog - very entertaining and It is very rare that I disagree with what he says.

Did we really only pay 3 million for them both combined?! thats amazing! I thought we paid more for Van persie?

Just shows how ridiculous it all is.

you really think van persie will be as good as rooney... cmon man... im pretty sure man united have made back in spades in kit sales alone for rooney and ronaldo... every other kid from the UK to HK has a man u jersey with rooney or ronaldo on it. I even see it all the time in america... Dont you think that is doing good business? Do you know how many park jerseys have been sold in Korea? He is a legend there.... How many toure and van persie kits do you think have been sold comparatively? Sure you bought some players on the cheap, but man united certainly makes money off the big names they buy. After all it is a business. And while arsene and arsenal have there business style, man united has theres, they both seem to work very well, so i dont think one is better then the other... So it baffles me when people act as if its a negative that manu paid so much for rooney, ronaldo, tevez, and other players, they get the most out of them.... weather it be on the pitch or in the stores... Now if there was a salary cap in place, then arsene is a pure fucking genius... but there isnt...

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Yeah I do think he is as good (they are different types of forwards but on the same level). Van Persie can change a game in a instant and is always looking to do something out of the ordinary. Rooney is over-hyped by the British press and is no way superior to RVP in any way. Just my opinion.

You argument is screwed anyway, just because Rooney cost £29m doesn't mean he will sell more shirts, look at how much Fabregas cost and look at the amount of shirts with his name on. Yes there are lots!
