Well, let's pray Freddy will be back.
My starting line up would be:

Lehmann

Lauren - Toure - Campbell - Cole

Ljungberg - Vieira - Edu - Pires

Bergkamp
Henry

A first eleven good enough to win the treble me thinks :) Reyes would come of the bench for bergy with reyes starting in our CL away legs.

That is our strongest team however it wont be put out as long as Gilberto is playing. Lets hope trigger does a little damage tonight and leaves Edu a window to move into. Shouldn't really hope a player from your team gets injured but it's the only way Gilberto will get out of the starting 11.

Edu will probably start against chelsea on saturday though, even if Gilberto doesn't start on the right in place of Parlour and if Freddie isn't quite ready cos Gilberto's playing against Ireland tomorrow so he'll probably (and hopefully) start with Edu.

If Freddie is fit enough to make the squad on Saturday, I will still expect Edu to play in with Vieira but with Gilberto still on the right like our last game against Wolves, this will give us more ball winners in the middle of the park. If Freddie does play it will only be on as a sub depending on how the game pans out. Henry will be expected to play with dennis.

What a goal by David Bentley for the England U21's, it were proper off the hook I tell thee!!!

The second dutch goal was a corker too, I hope we don't hold Bentley back the kids gonna be something special, Henry, Reyes, Aliadiere, Bentley and (one of Kanu, God and Wilturd) should be our strikers for next season.

I think we'll keep atleast 2 of Kanu, Bergkamp and Wiltord, but I think Wiltord is most likely to leave.

Just seen his goal, great run and curling shot off the post. Bentley is a star in the making, one of many emerging young talents coming through at Highbury. I think Bergkamp will sign another year to guide the youngsters through and maybe Kanu or Wiltord will go in the summer.

Edu could be an international
by Steve Murphy
Brazil manager Carlos Alberto Parreira has admitted that Arsenal midfielder Edu has not been picked because he is lacking first team football.

The former Corinthians star has been in excellent form this season, but he has started just seven Premiership games.

Skysports.com report that Parreira and his assistant Mario Zagallo have been in England watching Arsenal's Gilberto and Middlesboro's Juninho, who both are in squad to face Ireland on Wednesday.

"It's because Edu is not a regular player at Arsenal," he said.

"The only exception we have made to that rule was Rivaldo.

"He was not a regular player when he was at Milan but he was still chosen because he already had two wonderful World Cups behind him. Edu does not.

"How can we bring in a player who is not a regular in the team he plays for? We came to the Southampton match to see Edu. Unfortunately, that day the coach did not pick him.

"It doesn't mean to say we have to see him play before we bring him, but it does make it easier for us to see the kind of player he is.

"We hear lots of reports and read articles in Brazil about many players, but when you actually go to the ground it is not always the same."

Parreira admitted that he believe Edu will get his chance in the future.

"Edu's time will come. He is playing better and better for Arsenal," he said.

"I think that if he keeps going the same way then he will get his chance really soon."

Parreira admitted that he wished there were more Brazilians playing in England.

"It is a very strong barrier," he said.

"Players in England must have an EU passport or play 70 per cent of games for Brazil.

"That's why it is easier for them to go to Spain, Germany or Italy."

Another reason to put Edu in the starting line up!

Kanu is only playing for a new contract. It's like he only works hard when he needs to. If he gets a new contract he'll turn into the same lazy bastard again I'm afraid. I think Wenger is aware of this, otherwise he would have offered him a contract already.

I think Arsene doesn't usually start with Edu because he doesn't want him to play for Brazil, and I don't blame him. If he did become an international then every time the international break came around we'd have 2 of our central midfielders travelling half way round the world and neither would be ready for the next game coming up! So we'd only have Patrick and Ray to choose from, and what if one of them got injured?! We'd be quite literally, FUCKED!

Amazing! looks like you got your wish as Gilberto got injured tonight, if it's for more than a week it would be great for Edu to bed himself into the first team.

I ain't too happy about it, with Parlour and Gilberto out, what if Vieira or Edu pick up a knock?

I ain't to please either even if it does gives way for Edu to come in. Latest I've heard is that he's twisted his ankle and is a major doubt for the Chelsea game. But I don't think it's to serious, he should be good for the Celta Vigo game. If Vieira or Edu got injured I think Pires would slot into centre mid and clichy would go wide left. As for Ashley coles injury I really hope it's just a precaution coz he's been brilliant this season on the left.

You hoped for it, you got it. And still your complaining?

Damn, God must be angry at you..

I never hoped for Gilberto to get injured! You've got me mixed up with someone else mate.

Did any of you goons watch the England game last night? Ashley Cole? We have to play Bridge instead - Cole was shite. Can he actually defend or is he only good at pushing forward?

You need your eyes tested mate, his avatar is Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry and mines Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry.

How can you judge him on 17 mins and secondly he made one bad header which gave them a chance but he also made an important block.

As for bridge everytime he crossed the ball into the box it landed on a portugese defenders head. I'm sorry but Cole has had an outstanding season and Bridge is worse than when he was at southampton.

Cole was injured before the game, then picked up a knock so he shouldn't have even started. As for Bridge, he is crap. Cole has improved his defending of late and looks much better defensively this season. Anyway, Phil Neville right back, ffs whats that all about????

Exactly! He was injured and everyone thinks Wayne Bridge is good just because he crosses the ball into no one. The only positive thing he did was when he linked up with Joe Cole but even then he shot went out for a throw in! So what does that tell you about him?
