Pires and Ljungberg might play upfront on saturday against boro cos Henry might be rested

Wenger has said that Option 1 will be Bergkamp in the forward role and Option 2 is wide open with either the youngsters (Quincy/Bentley) or Pires and Ljunberg occupying the space. I think we'll see Quincy there, because AW has already said Bentley is similar to Bergkamp.
Moving on, apparently, Wenger's unhappy at Feyenoord too for leaking the deals of the van Persie deal, because, as you all know, he likes to be keep things secret till the deal has ended. I understand it from a Feyenoord perspective, however. If they don't get van Persie on the market now, he'll more then likely leave for free at the end of next season.

The Reyes rumours are still up there and I think it would be great if we did sign him, although the price tag shouldn't be too outrageous. I'm an intent follower of Spanish football and the guy really is soemthing special. With Fabregas destined to be playing first team football next season, Arsenal could have two of the most promising Spanish footballers linking up next year.

Another player who I would love to see at the club, and whom Arsenal have been linked with a few times before is Samuel Eto'o of Mallorca. He's full of class and I truly believe he has the quality to be playing for any one of the top three in any of Europe's best leagues. Eto'o combined with Henry would prove to be one of the most lethal combinations in Europe, not to mention the fastest. Watch out for him in the African Cup of Nations. He shouldn't disappoint.

4-1! Bentley! Apparently, a SUPERB chip. Left foot.

"He'll never score a better goal in his Arsenal career." Wow.

EDIT: It ends 4-1. Same score as in the league 14 days ago. Did the same thing agaonst Leeds. I think it's on purpose.

I'm so pleased Bentley's got his first. It's always your hardest, I think he's gonna be a great player.

Did you watch the game, Nicky? How was the chip?

No, I was supposed to have a footy match but it was called off last night cause of a waterlogged pitch. If we'd known the night before I could have got tickets, I was not best pleased, had to listen to it on Arsenal plus instead.

Have to wait for MOTD to see the goal.

Bentley got a short pass from Pires just outside the box. He dummied to the right and fooled the defender, put the ball onto his left foot and without looking up chipped it perfectly in the far corner. Very Bergkampesque. Schwarzer wasn't far off his line but he still had no chance.

Do you get to see the games live then

Yeah, we've gotten three games live just today. We always get the games that Sky shows, we also get games at 15.00 on saturdays, unlike in England right?

There are always two games for the TV station to choose from on saturdays at 15.00, however both games are showed at all the pubs here on satellite stations (Canal+ and Canal ZAP). So you can see almost every Arsenal game, it's pretty sweet.

Don't any of the pubs in England show games on saturdays?

They're not aloud to show the 15:00 o clock kick offs, it means the smaller clubs attendances can drop. We get any early or late kick offs on Sat's but they are only on at those times cause of tv coverage.

Personally I thought we proved that by beating both Manutd and Chelsea away from home last season without him. But this performance adds to that as well. We had no problems creating chances, but to be fair, Boro were without Ehiogu and Southgate.

Just came back from the game at Highbury.... (delays on the london underground!) All I can say is david bentley's goal was an absolute stunner, he picked the ball up from pires just outside the box, shimmed, moved it onto his right foot and shot a delightful chip over scwarzer. didn't even look up, knew what he was doing. He tried a similar shot against Boro in the carling cup game and was close, but this time he feckin nailed it. Unnnnn-believable goaaal. The best goal arsenal have scored this season. This kid is the new bergkamp. He's also got quite a good whip on his free kicks very Beckham-esque. We even sang the tune "we got david bentley, we got david bentley!" "theres onnnnly onnnne david bentley one david bentley walking along singing a song walking on the bentley wonderland!" superb. One thing I gotta add is Edu had another brilliant game, this guy gets better and better with every game. Mils got his usual booooos from the crowd, didn't do to much right on the day, the crowd probably effected his game. Job's goal was also another stunner, some boro dude i think rickets, headed it towards him, he then controlled it well on his knee and shot past Lehman on the turn. He had no chance really. Overall a highly satisfying game, it's becomming a habit beating the boro 4-1 all without Henry. Who said we are a one-man team???? "4-1 we always beat you 4-1, we always beat you 4-1!"

Davids shot was actually on his left weaker foot, lobbing from left to the right side of the goal, just remembered

Bloody hell this kid's got talent. I saw him against Boro in the Carling Cup too and he was showing his skills. Especially that bicycle kick.. he should of scored in that game too.

A star is born :D

Bentley scored a good goal, but..

... cant help but think schwarzer could of caught it.

I'll take a result in the lager cup on wednesday anyhow...

Regards.

Aye.. tis true.

But even though i couldn't be arsed with this game, another 4-1 beating annoys the fuck out of me.

Are you really playing your reserves again on wednesday?

I hope so :D .

You a Boro fan jonesinho? If so we've got a Boro Thread in the club index and we can chat boro there.

CHELSEA AGAIN!!!!!!

3 YEARS IN A ROW

And everyone of those years we've gone on to win the Fa Cup!

Thats exactly what I was thinking.

Since the start of the 2001 tournament had premiership sides in 13 out of 21 ties. The FA obviously don't like us. ;)

On the plus side it's better to play them now rather than later in the competition because the further you go the harder it gets.
That means we play them twice in seven or eight days cos we've got them in the league the weekend after! It's bloody Middlesbrough all over again!

ps: by the way 14_Henry, we didn't win the fa cup when we knocked out Chelsea in 2001, we lost to Liverpool in the final remember?
