It doesn't necessarily but our performances in the league over the last few years show we're better than you.
 
Its not about the history books. If it were, it would say 4-2 at Higbury, 2-0 at Old Trafford and 0-0 (Arsenal win on penalties) at the Millenium Stadium.
I'm talking about the whole truth here. The truth is, we outplayed you twice. And we went through a season filled with injuries which made things extra tough for us.

But theres no point in debating this cuz it seems like you're still celebrating your FA Cup win.

You started the debate so don't try and run away now....anyway you still seem to be celebrating the 4-2 win at Highbury last February.

Ok so they say the table never lies.

We have won a trophy for 4 seasons on the trot, can you beat that? NO
During that time we have finished above you 3 times out of 4.
During that time we went on an unbeaten run of 49 league games which no-one (even the mighty Manchester United) has even got near.
You have 2 trophies in this period, we have 5.

Now tell me you have been better than us last season or overall over the last few seasons.

Every team has to go through that!

We lost Campbell for a lot of the early parts of the season, Gilberto was hardly there, Vieira missed at least 5 or 6 games.

its great how people choose a timeline that suits them, why only the last few seasons??????

Lets even it out and do it since the prem started and then we'll see how you do...

can you match the 8 titles???

can you match the two in a row and the three in a row we did????

can you match a European Cup Win in the last six years???

Why are we only talking a decade now then why not make it a little longer say 16 years? Then we can add a couple of more league titles in the mix.

How about we go back around 30 years when you weren't even in the top flight!

I would say 5 years is a good time span for looking at RECENET success fuck all this 1993 shit.

It always makes me laugh that Man Utd only match results since the prem started, you're starting to sound like Liverpool (before last years Euro success) when they talk about past results.

Firstly, where's Rune?? Does he now need you answer for him?

Rune was saying that we "aren't necessarily better than Utd" so as we have been the most consistent trophy winning club over the last few years I just proved that fact - with stats. Rune is talking about the present day, not the last decade!! The table never lies Vann. Its a table that has seen us above you for the last 2 seasons.

Get over it Utd fans, at present you are behind both Chelsea and ourselves, you are no longer top dog in England. Its been on the cards now for a while and I know it must be hard to accept. :cry:

I'll be content telling myself that we are still punching above our weight, have a solid bunch of kids and are well on the way to becoming one of the richest clubs in Europe due to being controlled by a top notch board with a rich Arsenal history. ;)

Lol, 1993 was when we did the Cup double!!! Err so we were successful that season but whats the point in looking back that far when comparing the current teams, ITS HISTORY!! :mrgreen:

lol in football lad everythings after the last season is history....

but to supporters of the club its relevant...

even since the turn of the century we lifted the prem in 2000, 2001 (to finsh the three in a row we started in 99) and 2003 plus an FA cup in 2004 so we're not doing too bad, I dont think any other teams can match that amount of league trophies this century....

This is true. Well done for putting League trophies in there though (to suit Utd) as if you had put overall trophies then we have 5.

lol to suit United, either way three prem titles and an FA cup is not bad..

and still my point stands, no one has won more Prem titles than us so far this Century (well you wanted the last 5 years)

the only thing you've won more of than us in that time is FA Cups which is not bad so dont get me wrong....

How hard is it to understand? Let me be more specific.
In 2003, Man Utd played Arsenal in the Community Shield where we won on penalties (yes it counts just like the FA Cup).
The next match between the teams finished 0-0 at Old Trafford.
Later on that season, the match finished 1-1 which was the tie at Highbury.
Then we met at the FA Cup semis where we beat you 1-0.
Next season you beat us 3-1 in the Community Shield.
Then we beat you at Old Trafford 2-0, beat you 1-0 in the Carling Cup, beat you again 4-1 at Highbury and finally lose on penalties in the FA Cup final.

So from 9 chances, you beat us twice! While we beat you FIVE times!
And just cuz you finish above us in a league you call yourself the better team?

Last year you beat Norwich and they beat you but you finished above them in the league, does that make you no better than them then?

The league is the best way to guage who the best teams are. If you beat the big teams but fuck up against the small teams then you can't be better than the team above you in the league.

Rune, mate listen to yourself your logic is just daft. To all intents and purposes this is your logic in a hypothical situation.

Lets say that this season you manage to do the double over us and take 6 points from us, but we go on to win the league. Does that make you a better side? Over 2 games you had the better of us, but over the remaining 36 we had the better of you by at least 7 more points.

Do you get it now??

Dont you understand that the season is about more than the league? And its not like you actually won the league anyway. Maybe if you did regardless of losing 6 points to us, then you'd have a point.

We beat you again and again but once you find one little thing to brag about, you come here and call yourself the better team. And your avatar and signature proves my point.

But seriously. Forget about all this cuz even Arsenal can admit that they only wish they could be as great as Man Utd but fans like you cant accept that.

My avatar and sig were created the Monday after we won the cup!! Whats wrong with that!! Its hardly what I would call bragging!!

Rune - Some advice. Leave your demented ramblings about how Utd keep beating Arsenal which makes you the better team to the United thread cos we ain't interested in here. Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall.

Come back when you actually manage to finish above us over a 38 game season and win a trophy, then we can talk.
 
Why do all Gooners come up with completely irrelavant comments like that? You did the same in the Man Utd thread.

Looks like just have to be the (much) bigger man and walk away here cuz you're starting to act like a 6 year old.
