Wenger made a mistake by keeping Pires, the guy has blatantly lost the desire and class to call himself the best.......he's only a shadow of the 2001-2004 Pires

RuneEdge said:You would think that its only a minor thing because its very early in the season. But people are forgetting that the Premiership is becoming a very brutal competition. One loss can hurt you greatly now and leave you playing catch up. Arsenal had to go undefeated to win their last title. Chelsea only lost once to win theirs last season. And now just 5 games into the season and Arsenal have already lost twice. If you would have to judge things by the last two seasons, one would say that Arsenal have already lost the title. Man Utd drew and to most fans, it felt like a loss.
Chelsea seem to have the Champion's luck and theres no stopping them now. If Chelsea could just draw a few and maybe lose one or two, then maybe Arsenal and Man Utd have a chance. Cuz right now, Chelsea look as though they can win 38 games in a row.

giammo said:"controcampo" said it...I konow the transfer is very difficult but now delpiero isn't a holder in juventus ..he never plays and there are a lot of possibilities that next year Cassano arrives in torino....and with a lot of possibilities del piero will leave juventus...
How can you not see it as a brutal competition? As a Arsenal fan, you should know this better than most others after your undefeated season. One or two losses can sometimes mean you're already out of the title race now. Most other leagues let you get away with defeats. But in the EPL, any team with the ambition of winning the title have to set themselves the target of going undefeated or else they dont have a chance.Butatista said:A very brutal competition? I don't think so. This just proves that its a myth that the Premiership is the best league in the world. Its highly uncompetitive. The quality of the teams in the mid to bottom half is questionable. They say that the EPL is where teams from the bottom can beat teams from the top but can you honestly see Chelsea losing to anyone else other than Man Utd, Arsenal or Liverpool this season? I can't.

Anything is possible in football and I think Del Piero needs a new challenge. Has he past his peak though?
