Well played Mr Bennett :applause:. We battled well for the whole game and Given was immense, but no way a sending off. It cost us the game and spoiled the game as a whole. :(

Yeah. It was pretty open and fun to watch. Game of the week so far. Lets see what Chelsea can pull off.

well played?

You mean Gilberto Overreacted?

Its not his fault.

Its the way he fell thats why he was screaming in pain.

Yeah Gilberto overreacted. Look at the gif again. Just when he's about to hit the ground, he dramatically throws his arms in the air. Everyone does it. I'd do it too.
But IMO its that, that decided whether it would have been a yellow or a red.

Thats another thing Arsenal will now lose out on. Vieira's great "negotiating" ability.

Mastermind, hate to remind of what was, I'm sure a very well received FA Cup trophy you lot have sitting at Highbury, but you got outplayed in Cardiff too...

Does it matter?

Curses Chelsea's luck. Curses Arsenal's ref. Thanks Yobo for the kind assist to Rooney :)

Out of the three results, our's was the least dependant on luck. I dont think theres much to worry about at the Old Trafford camp.

2-0 against a team who came to defend is a fair result in anyone's book. We never beat Newcastle convincingly so its good to get that potential banana skin out of the way.

I am happy with the result and the way we played, its always tough against Newcastle, they are a good side. We find it hard to play against 10 men as they sit back, our game is based on counter attacking which was proved by the 2nd goal, nice goal too.

From my seat in the ground I felt the sending off was harsh. I found this pic on the bbc site. How could the ref give it? Look at the view he has got, he seems to peering over Parker and Pires just to get a view of the incident. From his position I find ift difficult to see how he could be 100% sure. Steve Bennett is a muppet anyway, he was the ref that gave the pen at Old Trafford 2 years back for the tap on Forlan by Keown. Van horse face missed anyway....ha ha.

What's funny is before the horrific scissor at the end of the challenge, he actually got the ball first ;)

If that had been Vieira it would have been a talking to, with no card :p

Now that he's with Juve, he can get away with worse!

Oh well, nice of Bennett to ask for the card to be switched to yellow. Lots of help to Newcastle now...can't he get a pay cut or something? Or a suspension of his own? I know refereeing is no easy task, but if you're going to be so hard line, make sure you get it right. He was clearly unsure, and so should have produced yellow rather than make such a mistake of a giving a red he'd regret.

True. Definitely the right thing to do, at least Newc won't be without Jenas for 3 games now. The red card really did kill the game and made it a boring seige on their goal, with their end of the pitch permanently awash with black and white shirts. Why didn't Bennett ask the assistant? That's what he's there for right?

Who would be a ref today eh?

Well, I think they were doing good business, realising his value will go down from the age of 30.

hm, i don`t think so. After all take a look at Nedved - the man literay exploded at his late 30. I think that Viera will play in the same good old way more years in the future.
I am just wondering how will Gilberto, cover this area, without the Viera.

In the light of media reports this morning, Arsenal Football Club have released the following statement.

Reports today stating that Sol Campbell has asked to leave the club are mischievous. Sol has not requested a move away from Arsenal and as Arsène Wenger stated only recently, Sol is part of his plans.

Sol’s focus right now is to get back to full fitness and help the team compete for silverware this season.

Come on Gunners lets get stirred up for tomorrow. Any predictions on the scoreline? Expectations? Should Reyes play or not? What about having Van Persie start for a change? If we win this game it should make life down the road tougher for Chelsea because other teams will surely fancy their chances against them, especially after their poor performance against Wigan. P.S: Did Chelsea trade Frank Lampard.
