Hmm probably not. I blagged my boss to get me invited to a Highbury hospitality evening where they sell the new 'club level' seats to rich local businessmen. I was told that Emirates is ALREADY over-subscribed, so in all likely hood the situation will probably be the same as it is now.

My gut feel is that there will be more match by match tickets available. Its so expensive watching Arsenal now that once the novelty wears off regarding the new stadium, people will start to pick and choose matches. I genuinely feel things will get better for the Silver and Red members.

Yeh Cardiff's been relatively good to us. Part from 2001 which was a bitch. They jut showed it on FA Cup Classics. Probably the worst ive felt after a game.

I just felt drained after that game, we murdered them and got caught with 2 sucker punches.

Wenger has said Reyes will start but he doesn't know where yet. I suppose its whether Freddie plays or not. If Freddie plays then Jose will be up top, if Freddy doesn't he's likely to be wide left.

What defensive partnership would you go for? Its tough but I go with Senderos\Campbell. Senderos is playing well and Toure hasn't been as solid this season.

I agree, you need Sol for his big game experience and it would be unfair to drop Senderos as bar one error against the Brum he has been outstanding since he stepped in at the back.

I think it's gonna be an interesting game, I think we can win as long as we get a goal before 'Team Manchester Buccaners' kick the shit out of us.

I did read an amusing comment in the Utd thread where someone commented that they would be alright as they've beaten us 3 times already this year! Yeah if that's how it worked we wouldn't have lost to Chelsea in last years Champions league quarters!

Yeah 2001 was a real killer. I was working in Tesco back then as a stacker, and I got roped into working on the day of the final. Had to keep running up to the staff room every five minutes to check the score. There was this other guy who worked there who was a Liverpool fan, obviously in exactly the same circumstances as me, who ran in close behind me towards the final part of the game. I still have this horrible image etched into my brain of his face in sheer ecstasy when the radio blared out the confirmation of Owen's goal. I went home.

Anyways, personal traumas back buried deep, 2005 is probably gonna be just as nerve-wracking. Man Utd are masters of the physical game and I don't think Arsenal are really able to cope with it. Some might point to the fact Arsenal managed to ride the physical styles of Blackburn in the previous round, but Man Yoo are a different story. They obviously have some of the most skillful players in the world, but I think their real strength comes from being able to control the game and influence the flow accordingly. In other words they can defend effectively as a solid unit, they know how to give away tactical fouls to frustrate the opposition, and I think they know more than anyone else that Arsenal only really have a Plan A.

My greatest hope is that Plan A works to a treat and we are able to overwhelm them as an attacking force. But if they score early and settle into a rhythm, god help us all. I genuinely belive Arse would beat Man Yoo in a CL tie because European refs dont tolerate the same levels of physicality in a match. But this is bruising, bloody-nosed, British FA cup football, and in my humble opinion no one plays that game better than Manchester United.

Yeah, the better team has gotta win sometime, its the law of averages!

lol the better team, who do you think you are mourinho...

Its called support mate, bigging up your own team. Plus I knew I would get a reaction from you. Just trying to liven the thread up!!

Anyway the table doesn't lie, we gave you 6 points this season and we still finished 6 points ahead. Added to the 15 points we finished ahead the previous season then its clear who's the better side.

Well I am just talking about the present day, not past glories. When did you last retain the title? 2001?

Like I said before the table doesn't lie.

gave us 6 points !!! i was under the impression that we ripped the arse outa you in both league matches, or were you wearing a pair of the professors rose tinted spectacles Buta?

No you deserved it both games mate, all I am trying to say is that effectively you had a 6 point head start but over 38 games we still finished 6 points ahead of you. Yeah?

lol your only saying that cos your team doesnt really have any past glories...

but yeah you've finished above us for two years running, WOW, that really puts all ou achievements in the shade, we are humbled lol

but I spose after us winning it 8 times to your 3 (lol two more than blackburn) you being above us for two years is a big thing..

we salute you!!!

No it just proves we are the better team at the moment, which is nothing to get excited about really.

Why does every argument with a ManU fan end up with them extoling their glorious past when it is clearly obvious that we are talking about the present. ManU were the team of the 90's, thats that. Episode closed! Now you can argue that you beat us twice this season (thrice? yeah, against our reserves, huh). For argument's sake, please desist from illogically throwing in facts from 10 years ago, when its pretty clear that your past is impressive, but it has no bearing on discussions involving current form or contemporary achievement.

Well said

This whole arguement depends on how you compare two teams. You can look at stats and figures and what sort of form the teams are in or you can just look at the result of the game between the two teams.
Arsenal's form in recent months has been better than ours. But midway through the season, our form was better than Chelsea's too when we had a great unbeaten run going. And our defensive record is much better than Arsenal's. And to be honest, you lot havent been playing any better, its just that we've played badly in comparision. Chelsea won the title regardless of whether Man Utd and Arsenal played good or bad, cuz they had their fate in their own hands. But you lot are ahead of us only because we messed up, not because Arsenal is the better team. When we were on a good run, we were more consistant AND we went through you twice with wins in both games. That to me proves we're the better team.

LOL BS!!!

Arsenal 83 pts.
Man Utd. 77pts

If you're gonna count performances like that then we can argue that our performances in ALL other competitions have been far greater than yours. And we only been knocked out by Chelsea, who eventually won the Carling Cup and AC Milan who are now in the finals. Its the same last year. We won the FA Cup and lost to the eventual winners of the CL. We only lost in the carling cup then because we fielded a reserve team and paid the price.
Our form in Cup competitions is definately better than yours so theres no arguing there.

But in the league, its just a lack of motivation. We knew we werent gonna beat you to second place so our performances dropped cuz we knew theres no point trying. So the gap grew bigger and bigger. The fact that we beat you 3 times this season is a good enough reason to say we're the better team. Dont argue that we beat your reserve team cuz we also used a reserve team. We had many injuries this season but once we got a run going, we were the best team in the league at that time. Plus we had a better defence.
The only arguement to support Arsenal is that they finished above us. And we all know that the table doesnt tell you the full story.

RuneEdge said:

???? No-one can argue against the fact that after 38 games the table is a true reflection of teams quality over an extended period of time. (ie the whole season).

You argue our defence is weaker, well we have scored 29 more goals than you in the league, nearly one more each game!!

:lmao:

Please... the fact that your team just capitulated and gave up proves that your's is clearly not the better team, this year.

Seriously, the high and mighty tone taken by you lot is entirely indicative of why so many people are so critical of Man Yoo fans. THE TABLE DOES NOT LIE. You are all like the Nazi Panzer commander who won his battle but cannot comprehend why his country lost the war. Time to be a man, stand up and admit; "You've had our number this year."

I dont think anyone would try and argue that Arsenal have always been a better team than Man Utd, trophies and league positions would highly suggest otherwise. BUT THATS NOT UP FOR DEBATE. In the cold hard light of day;

ARSENAL HAVE SCORED MORE GOALS AND PLAYED BETTER FOOTBALL THAN MANCHESTER UNITED IN THE 2004/2005 SEASON, THUS RIGHTFULLY GAINING MORE POINTS AND A HIGHER LEAGUE POSITION.

There. No amount of past success can change the above statement. Stop being so immature and accept that this has not been your Premiership season.

So Norwich beat you this season and you beat them so in your strange logic does this mean that you are no better than them?

You beat us at OT in controversial circumstances you didn't outplay us! In the second prem game you did well to beat us after being behind twice.
In the Carling cup game you beat us from a very lucky goal. If you had beaten us convincely 3 times this season I could understand where you were coming from.

Don't forget we also outclassed you in the community sheild. Granted it's not a competitive game but neither team wanted to lose that one!

Agree with most of that. I felt a right cunt after the game at OT, it should've finished 0-0. Still sweet to see your lot moaning, although you did actually have a case that day.
As for the 4-2 game, that's probably my only highlight of last season. That was the United of old, we really rattled you that day. I loved it.
Can't wait for the match tomorrow. First Cup final we've been in since '96 where we haven't been overwhelming favourites.

cant believe that hutch, we deserved the 2-0 win at OT you could tell that by how muched they bitched after the game and that it really got to arse whinger...

but im with you on the 4-2, they couldnt touch us, even with a one-nil lead...

I think its great that even though we've been shit this season we still took 6points of the then champions..

But at the end of the day we weren't the team to beat, that was Chelsea and you took absolutely fuck all from them.

One thing for sure is,nobody dares to lose this final. The loser will end up with nothing for the season.U know what, the "O" on your kit would really be significant if you lot lose, tomorrow, hahaha,Cheers~
