I think our only downfall will be that Toure isn't playing and Cygan will be! hopefully we win, but its going to be very tough indeedy!

csaunders, do you think everyone in the world thinks alike?..

People thought it was a foul, people didnt...people think Rooney is amazing, some people dont, not everyone agrees on the same thing.

Just because people do a bad challenge, doesnt make them a dirty player, look at Lampard, his tackle broke Alonsos ankle and it looked dirty, but I know it was just a miss-timed tackle, remember that these guys are human, and cant tackle the player 100% perfect all the time..

A dirty player is someone like Diouf, who instead of swallowing his saliva, spits in on other players, or Toure, who would rather elbow someone in the back than just walk back into his position.

I suppose you could also say divers are dirty players, but some seem to think this is part of the game, which is bollocks.

I seriously dont understand football, are the players that weak that they fall to the floor when the slighest of contacts is made?..

Anyway, back to the topic..

Man UTD will win, albeit by 1 goal, but I dont think Arsenal have the motivation, morale and confidence left in them now, where 1 season they go unbeaten, and then the next season they struggle, so Man UTD for the win.

no, your right, lampard does not have the most red cards in prem history, so he doesnt show a consistent trend of illegal plays to warrant red cards, paddy does, as he has the most red cards in prem history, how can you argue that? Are you saying there all for dissent? Are red cards given out for fair play? I know the world doesnt think alike, but ALOT of different refs in the premeire leauge at one point have thought alike enough to hand out all those reds to paddy....

Another boo boy. Oh dear. Cygan played very well against Wolves and for the most part this season he's done well. It's just sad for him that because of a poor first season many 'fans' highlight his errors while not concentrating on what he is, a solid back-up. He seems better with Sol anyway because there is more leadership at the back so that's good news.

i think cygan is a good man marker, but his ball skills are lacking, which doesnt exacltly flow with the nice football arsenal plays, on another prem side he woudl be fine.. but in arsenals system he hurts you guys... good luck to all, hopefully we have a good game and not another hack fest

Hes in the back four so he rarely needs to call on his ball skills, the only time he looks suspect is when he turns on the ball for a back-pass. That can occasionally get him into trouble. Also, his pace is lacking and maybe Rooney or Saha's acceleration could cause problems today? Hope not. He's very competent though and I like the guy.

Eboue looks like a great talent, eh, butatista? Excellent dribbler and very pacy. As Wenger said, he needs to work on his tactical awareness but the foundation's already well in place.

Yeah we look strong in both full back positions now. Eboue and Clichy would probably get on most other Prem teams.

Off to the match now, wish me luck!!

What a half that was, it just flew by.

Fighting before the game is novel, who would have thought it would kick off early

2-1
Viera,Bergkamp
Carrol is Shit.

1st goal: Carroll comes for it, could have punched it, didn't. (Good strength by Viera either way, who came up with Henize v Viera in the marking scheme?)
2nd goal: Way to get low Carroll, really good goalkeeping.

Fun game though, why does Rooney get booked all the time? I mean seriously, dissent at an offside decision, its not like EVERY OTHER PLAYER does the same thing. Frickin A.

3-2 Silvestre sent off.

Arsneal playing badly, Man Utd have had a better match honestly.

Great match, definitely the most entertained I've been all season. Thought Silvestre may have been a bit unlucky, but still. Props to both sides, lots of action, skill and passion. Hopefully see you again in the FA Cup!

Oh and yeah, I'm sure Chelsea will win tomorrow...curses...

You need a new keeper, Almunia was lost for their 3rd and a world class keeper would have got their second too. Cygan is worse than useless. The only thing I'll say for you is youve still got a small chance of beating Bayern in the Champions League. If Campbell is ok for that game and you put him man to man marking Makaay then you might win, but only if (1) they play like they did vs Hertha at the weekend, (2) you dont play Cygan.

Cygan played very well tonight imo

But i think when a decent side sit back and MAKE you break them down yiou run out of idea's at times

You look very static and dont stretch teams you did like last season in those situations

tbh if your goalie hadnt messed up i think it was your match to win

What the f*ck was that? Cruising at half time and then FlapJack almunia comes out and does a cameo for the superman film.

Lauren was shit. No wonder Arsenal were offering him only a 1 year deal. I was sitting at home, i'm not on £60k a week but i could read Giggs pass to Ronaldo! Zonal marking my arse. Giggs pulled Cygan, Campbell and Lauren and left the left exposed.

Bergkamp rolled back the years which was a plus point, but apart from that, we did cower. Big players forgot to stand up to be counted today and Rio marked Henry out the game.

Well done United.. hurts me to say so, but they wanted it MUCH more. No excuse this time about Rooney dive etc, we got beaten by the better team. Nuff said.

Now i hope Dien and Hill-Wood pull their fingers out and help Arsene bolster this squad with one GOOD keeper and a GOOD centre back.

Go on Arsenal fans dare you differ.

Well done tonight lads good to see Keano finally shut up Pat Viera who bottled it when Keano told him to pick on Him in the tunnel before the game.

G:):):):)

Heinze already 2 careless mistakes. If United use Zone defence against Milan, theyre fecked.
yeah but mate, he was flawless after that, what a player he is, wow, he makes his adjustments and he is outstanding....

tend to agree with you thier iceman.

defensive mistakes cost us.

but the keeper made a blunder, and personnaly felt he made two, one he never should have come out so far to close ronaldo down and then the giggs bit was just plain stupid.

Its either the defense or its the keeper or a bit of both, but clearly just like the chelsea game we cannot hold a lead, attacking part of the game is fine, 2 goals should be enough to win any game.

I feel like as if Arsenal have become like the Newcastle team that Kevin Keagan had great going forward but could not defend properly.

I want to see Italian steel at the back, they know how to defend, either that or Wenger should call george up and ask him how he got Adams, Bould, Dixon and Winturburn to be so solid.

Well we wouldn't have lost this game last season. Their first 3 goals were all becuase of errors by our players. We need a world class keeper in for next season and Lehmann back in the side NOW.

We missed Toure but Cygan played ok. Campbell, Lauren and Cole just had bad games. Bergkamp was the only bright spark for me, he rolled back the years in the first half.

It hurts to say it but:

a) We weren't good enough last night
b) We aren't good enough to retain the title this season.

And what really hurts is:

c) Utd were the better team last night and seemed to want it more. Whats happened to the Arsenal fighting spirit?? :(

Paddy is a great captain but he ain't no Tony Adams is he? At 3-2 down, big Tone would have rolled up his sleeves and got the team going again and up the battle. I just don't feel we get this from Vieira.

We also need to get over Utd and just play our football against them, we keep getting dragged into battles when we play them which just suits them.

So well done to Utd, your 3 points last night were thoroughly deserved.

Bottled it? What the f*ck did u want him to do? Knock Keano out? Yeah, you would love that ... being dragged out into another "pizzagate".

Cygan played well, but the Campbell had a bad game. Lauren's positioning sense was awful.

I agree with Buta...

1) We got outplayed and cut opened by a brilliant attacking team with a SOLID defence. Ours goes to pieces as soon as the ball crosses the halfway line. They can't just clear the ball. Always start playing shitty one twos.

2) We cannot be called one of the great English teams if we can't have a solid home record and defend our title.. FACT. We've drawn TOO many games we should have won and cannot seem to hold on to lead. Change the way the defence plays. Get a right back - not a converted midfielder and a commanding keeper. Give Lehmann his chance. If Almunia wasn't good enough for Celta Vigo, and was loaned out to a Segunda Liga team, why is he good enough for Arsenal? F*cking c*nt of a keeper!

We've not beaten Man United since 03 season (the charity shield just doesn't count), and you have to think about the logic of letting experienced players such as Romford Pele Parlour and Wiltord leaving - both Internationals and then trying to patch up our team when we're short (Toure, Edu, Giblerto) with kids. Yes, blood the kids slowly, but don't put all the expectations on their shoulders.

Oh well, next season i guess. Well done United, fix up Arsenal.

If the first loss rocked the boat, what will this loss do? I'm scared to even contemplate it. We play like that, we'll struggle at Munich!

It was very poor from arsenal, we desrved to lose. We have no decent backup in defence at all. And for a quality team you need good back up. Cygan has to be the slowest player in the world, there was one point when Campbell ran half of the pitch and caught up with the player that Cygan was having trouble keeping up with.

There were a few incidents which would have changed the game, the major one being that our plumb of a keeper, being an idiot for their third. Also the offside given to Bergkamp, when he was clearly onside and one on one with the keeper. Also we should have had a penalty from a foul on pires.

We should have also capitalised on them going down to ten men, so I have no doubt Man U deserved the win.

But thats football for you, those things didn't go our way and thats that, we just have to pull ourselves together and start winning again.
