Particularly enjoyed that one. That, and the 4-0 at Anfield the year before (crumbs, so long ago, I'm not even sure of the year! Robbie Fowler was still playing for us...... ). Anyway, three good goals and nice to see my team playing well again. Never thought I'd see the day after the damage GH did.

I KNEW Arsenal would not have been able to pick themselves up after a few bad results. I predicted it. Just like Real Madrid, too many egos in one camp.

Surely this is the most unjust criticism you could possibly muster. If there is one thing you cannot rinse the Arse for its team spirit. To compare our shoestring squad to Real Madrid's multi multi million £ prima donnas is a bit of a loose analogy at best eh? And you KNEW that we wouldnt be able to pick ourselves up? You talk like the season's over boss, well over half the fixtures to go, including your trip to Highbury.

Vieira was shocking with that dive yesterday,

Agreed, It was painful to watch. But lets not even begin to compare records on that eh? Van Nistelrooy, Scholes and recently Rooney all guilty, but unfortunately its part of the game. they're not the first and they wont be the last.

United have won against Liverpool, Newcastle, Spurs and Arsenal.

And lost to Portsmouth. Rio, Rooney and all.

Chelsea play for each other, the way they defend, the depth in their squad, looks like they are on course for the title.

You just said it urself mate, I really think its ill-advised to have an Arsenal vs Man U debate when Chelski are running away with it. They were far and away the winners of the 'Battle of the Buffet' and if they dont win it with all this dough and new manager then they'll only come back stronger next year. Its gonna be interesting....

records on what, patrick veria is the most red carded player in the history of the prem!!! so yeah lets not begin to compare, its only part of the game when it suits Mr Arsene Wegner, when another player does it, he is a cheat, when his player does it, its part of the game... whatever wenger is full of shit, if he was any kind of man he would call veria a cheat as well

Wenger doesn`t EVER see his boys dive/cheat/spit/foul but ALWAYS see`s the other team doing so. Its very annoying, and his whinging is rubbing off on the players. If you look at the Arsenal camp at the moment, the team doesn`t look confident - Henry played a shocker against L`pool.

The Arsenal 16 has just been announced for tomorrow night - the biggest name being Van Persie.

oh you mean like the one veria pulled against PSV, please dude, Rudds was hardly as vicous as that.....
1) Who the hell is "Veria"?

2) I think we are talking about captains here - Roy Keanes tackle on Alf-Inge Haaland?

EDIT: 3) And who's Rudd?

So then chaps, tonight is the night our youngsters show the way. I really hope we put on display that we can all be proud of. Its quite funny how all the Utd fans on here are being the judge and jury regarding the form\attitude\commitment of our team. I really couldn't give a stuff about what they think. They should have enough issues to worry about regarding their own team, rather than goading us about ours.

After all, we are the current champions, lost 2 league games out of 55, we are sitting in 2nd place in the table, 5 off the top but playing the top team a week Sunday, 1 win away from the knockout stages of the CL and our talented reserve team is about to be tested tonight against the best team they will have played so far. So all in all I think generally, its a good time to be a gooner.

I am sure we will turn the corner in the league soon and then the rest had better watch out!!

Keep your chins up Gooners!!

Well done to Utd, I think that we were always going to struggle against a team with that much more experience than us, especially away from home. Yes we beat Everton's first team at home in the last round, but going to OT is totally different. We didn't do enough going forward, we had plenty of possesion but UTd defended very well.

Van Persie needs to calm a bit IMO. He is a great talent, but he needs to channel it in the right direction if he is to suceed. The only thing in his defence is that its clear he is a committed Gooner cos he hates Utd so much!!

Van Persie already looks a great talent. Wenger has done well signing him. He is a hot head though!

I thought Clichy and Senderos looked impressive, Van Persie had his moments (when he wasnt threatening to get sent off). Overall experinence showed, they looked so much more comfortable in midfield and were quick to swamp our passing efforts. They invited us onto the ball in the 2nd half, but all the youthful exubuerance in the world rarely competes with sound tactics and good tackling. They wanted it more and deserved it. To be honest Id be beaming if their younger team spanked Chelski's rich kids...

I thought your kids did well last night. Most were playing like seasoned pros. Larsson, Senderos and Clichy all impressed me. Makes you wonder why Wenger plays Cygan instead of Senderos when Campbell is injured.

Arsenal had a lot of posession in the 2nd half, but they just didn`t look like scoring. Aparantley, Wenger said today that our football is more "boring" as we play 5 in midfield - making us hard to break down last night.

I don't think he meant that, he also said it was effective. I think it was just one of the sly digs that Wengerand Ferguson give each other from time to time. I agree with you though, you were difficult to break down. O'Shea played well, always rated him.

True, I think its time Senderos had a go in the first team, the next time either Campbell or Toure are out. Apparently Fergie thought he was going to OT, he invited Senderos up to OT for a day, showed him around etc. Most of the big clubs in Europe were after him. Then he signed for us, it turned out he was a huge Arsenal fan so that must of made up his mind for him.

Yeah, John had a good game, but I still dont rate Fortune - he will always be a squad player in my opinion - he is a bulldog! What is your Flamini (dont know how to spell it) like? What sort of player is he? I saw a bit of him last week against PSV, too.

Flamini is more of a holding midfielder, to break the play up. He gets stuck in, but he can pass a bit. Haven't seen much of him but I think he looks promising. A squad player for this season.

I said earlier Eagles played well, is he gonna get a sniff of the first team, how old is he? The way he runs reminded me of CRonaldo.

Eagles is 19 - a very talented right-winger, good close-control. He was highly regarded in the youths and reserves, looks like he is coming along well. Whats all these rumours about Ashley Cole will be going to Real Madrid one day to replace Roberto Carlos?

I understand that Real have enquired about Cole, but were turned down flat. Ashley has since said that although its flattering to be linked with Madrid, he don't want to go there. I think his treatment when playing for England last month has made up his mind!!

Cole is my favourite left-back in the Premiership - quick, works hard, and defends much better now than he used to.

Don`t get me wrong, I would love Ashley Cole in our squad, but I`m happy with Heinze at the moment. He is proving to be a great signing by Fergie. I really rate him.

Yeah I was joking, did you hear that Heinze is on collision course with Fergie cos he don't wanna play for you at Christmas as he is a devout Catholic and he would rather be praying and spending time with his family.
