same happened last year, it looked quite sad seeing our end full and about 12, actually it was the same at the semi final at Villa park aswell...

where are all these extra thousands of fans for the new stadium??

Not to mention Viera wont even be considered a galicticos at Real and will get less pay then the rest of the players.

I think it is highly unlikely that Vieira will be leaving the CHAMPIONS. I just wish he'd quash these rumours early doors rather than letting the papers make up all the bullshit they need to sell papers.

A friend of a friend who over heard Vieira's gardener in the pub the other other day quotes are just a loadf of toss.

He has a couple of days left before the champions league qualifying deadline is up. If he hasn't gone by then (which is highly unlikely) he probably wont be going at all.

This is what I'm talking about - so many Arsenal fans are buying into this Domine effect happening. I'll tell you right now, the loss of Vieira will NOT RUIN the club. We're not back in the days when Merson left us and we fell into mediocrity. We have amazing players in every postion of the field, a brilliant balance between old and young and assembled team sprirt other teams could only hope for.

I don't know if anybody else is notcing this, but the French generation in Wenger's era is slowing fading away. Henry of course will remain here till his legs do him part but considering this long-winded, boring Vieira transfer saga is about to end with him in Madrid, and Pires is in the dawn of his career, Wenger's next clique is forming. Noticed all the Spanish players coming? Noticed how we're looking much more at Africa now (opening academies in various countries to try to get another K-Lo)? It looks to me like Wenger has earmarked the future of Arsenal to include the technicality that Latin players posses with the physical traits (pace, power) Africans have. That's not to say we won't have any more Frenchman coming in, I'm sure we'll have a global balance in our squad like we always had under Wenger, but times do change.

Wenger said a few years ago he was interested with him but West Ham were admant to make him stay then so nothing materialised. There could be some truth to the story. He's not a Vieira replacement by any means but he reminds me sort of Lampard, however, has the potential to be better, imo. He would be a good buy, especially with Wenger's amazing ability to improve and get the best out of players. Opinions, fellahs?

I still think Flamini will sign, Marseille are just peeved that their best youth player left their team for virtually nothing. Their president was stingy and didn't give him a proper contract so he left and now they're taking legal action against it. The end result will probably be us having to pay an extra couple of million for him. They won't up the price too much because otherwise we might lose interest and they don't want young Mathieu back at the club because they're describing his actions as 'treason'. More likely becuase they've already bought Costa. Mexes->Roma is a familiar situation as well.

You may be right about Carrick. It seems that when Lampard, Cole and Carrick were in the midfield at West Ham, I always heard heaps of praise being thrown at Carrick being potentially great - but it seems the other two have flown past him. I only thought lampshade was in the west ham team cos of his dad - but his performances last season proved otherwise. I still think the Argentinan Javier Mashpotato who is at River Plate is much better!! (sorry - Javier Mascherano).

On the Flamini note - it just stinks of sour grapes. Eduardo Costa was already signed as to the departures of Camel Meriem and Stepan Vachousek.

To be honest, Costa is probably the best DMF in L1 so they really seemed to be pissed off at Flamini.

Mascherano had his best season with River last year, but he is still a bit lightweight for the Premier League. I would be overjoyed if we landed him but he'll need more than half a season to settle.
