HAha! according to sports.it Juve's Steven Appiah is set to be sold to Arsenal for 10 million euro's!

Bah, hope not. It doesn't look likely either considering we're certain to get Carrick now.

Even as a Man U fan, I have to say that Reyes was on fire. What a buy. How much did he cost?

And I personally think, you lot will never replace Vieira. You better hope theres still chance of him staying.

Fabregas looks a right gem. Why did Barcelona let him go?

Shame about the mullet though. ;)

We took him from right under their noses, just like you did with Pique. He didn't like the conditions there and Barca were being stingy with the contract. They made the exact same mistake twice, and now they're two great young players short.

I think Cesc being given the no. 15 shirt is a testament to his true qualities. Last year, David Dein said he would be a more prominent in the first team and it seems to be true. Our midfield will look excellent, although shy of experience, even if Vieira does leave.

Looks like Aliadiere needs an operation. I saw the game and saw what he did, it was scary b/c I did the exact same in Americna Football practice, no contact, just lost my balance and sretched out akwardly....

Arsenal striker Jeremie Aliadiere will be out for several months after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in the Community Shield yesterday.

The 21-year-old replaced Dennis Bergkamp on the hour but just eight minutes later fell awkwardly in a challenge and was stretchered off. After a scan today, the Club released the following statement detailing the bad news.

"Further to the injury sustained in the Community Shield, it has been confirmed that Jeremie Aliadiere has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for several months.

"Our thoughts are with Jeremie and everyone at the Club wishes him a speedy recovery."

I really enjoyed watching that game yesterday. Credit to both sides for putting in such a spirited performance. Pity Aliadiere got buggered up. Fabregas impressed me the whole way right from the start, Reyes was on fire but on occasion his final touch or strike would let him down. Henry looked a bit detached. Denis was amazing, every time he got the ball you knew something special was coming. Cygan was playing really really well up until the Smith goal when he started playing ping pong, I knew he would eventually fuck something up. He still turns like an oil tanker. Don't like him on that team, just don't. Clichy surprised me with his pace and skill, maybe it was just the occasion and the fact that he was in a position other than left back, plus we had the lead so he probably thought let me run at them. Wasn't he involved in the Cole (edit: Silvestre - haha) goal? It should be an interesting season.

Clichy was very impressive as was that Francesc Fabregras(?) kid.

Never heard of that kid until that listof 50 Most Exciting Youngsters in World Soccer mag.

Can anyone tell me some stuff about him and Clichy, too?

PEACE

Cesce aka Fabregas was a youngster Arsenal "stole" from Barca. Apparently he was unhapphy with his contract in Spain and Arsenal prized him away. Clichy was signed lat year from As Cannes for 250,000, he is a very attacked minded fullback, and can play in front of Cole.

and also don't forget that he is the youngest ever player to play and score for arsenal
he do it last year in carling cup

It was the best tap-in from two yards I've ever seen. I swear.

Pires has officially said that he didn't say anything about Vieira to Madrid. Dunnon about that really. Not too bothered, to be honest.

Funniest story this morning is the news about the giant Arsenal shirt missing from the Cardiff stadium. The story is comic relief. I love the headline. I bet Butatista has it.

they want to loan him out just after aliadiere gets a long term injury???
i'd say this isnt a great decision by wenger unless they have more backups
