Another arse-clinching win for us, it's nice to know we can still grind results out when we're not at the top of our game. I'm interested to see what James (or 14_Henry) said to Edu today.

Yesterday would rank as one of my best days as a gooner, there's been nothing quite like it. I've just been on a high ever since and can't believe what I've just been through. Me and my bro waited in the famous marble halls for an Arsenal rep to guide us through the events. For the whole while we was there, Arsenal stars just poured in left, right and centre. Ljungberg, Vieira, Keown, Wenger, David Dein all went by to sign a few shirts, posing for photos. If this was just a starter of things to come, bring on the main course! The Arsenal rep arrived and guided us through and in seconds we were in the player’s tunnel, I couldn't believe it, I felt like an Arsenal player walking through. It's actually quite narrow when you’re in there but it does go on quite a distance towards the pitch. The rep stopped and showed us the Arsenal changing rooms just to the right of the tunnel, this was one of the highlights of the day knowing the Arsenal galcitcos were just behind the door having a team talk and preparing for the game. I just wanted to burst in there and announce I was in the building but I don't think Wenger would have been to impressed. We then came out from the player’s tunnel to meet the Highbury crowd and stadium, I was in awe, what a beautiful view of the stadium and crowd. We all chilled and waited in Bolton’s dugout with the Barclays award sponsors. They were gonna present their awards first before mine and the lady handed me the arsenal.com trophy, we joked about how tiny it was compared to the huge Barclays awards. Picture your average primary school tornament trophy. I kept on admiring the view from where I was standing and started to get giddy with excitement. We then heard there was a delay to the game by 15 minutes because of a security alert. I didn't mind at all because I wanted to stay in there forever. The three award winners, Henry, Bergy, and Edu walked out from the tunnel just centimetres away to be presented for their Barclays POTM and 20 goals awards respectively. Henry's expression was funny, he looked like he had been there, done that and got the t-shirt. :D They did their presentation thing, posed for photos and next came my turn to present an award to Edu, my big moment! At around 3pm me and my bro (he wanted a piece of the action) duly stepped up onto the famous Highbury turf, trophy in hand, calm and collected, like pros. I made my way straight to Edu and shook his hand and said "well played Edu, congratulations on winning, you deserve it" Edu said thanks and smiled, he genuinely looked like he was loving it more than I was! We posed for a few photos for the camera guy, while all this was going on Paul Burrell the MC announced I was the competition winner, etc, then the real big moment, he announced my name and Edu's to the Highbury crowd! The crowd erupted! GET IN THERE BIG TIME! :D So there was my bro left to Edu and me on his right on the Highbury pitch as near 38,000 people applauded us. Can’t describe how great this felt, it was right up there with the Anfield 89 buzz. I didn’t wanna leave but I had to afterall there was a match to be played! I left by saying good luck and have a good game. We then went off to our seats in the north bank to watch the match, to go over what just happened, we were hysterical and all I've gotta say is get on that arsenal.com website and vote your arse off for player of the month and become a winner because this day will stick with me for the rest of my lifetime as a proud gooner. Oh yes and I nearly forgot, we won the game 2-1 unbeaten and all that :D

this is probably a stupid question on the arsenal thread, but will they go thru the season unbeaten in the league and if not who will they trip up against?

newcastle away looks a tricky one but the arse are probably well capable of finishing their remaining games unbeaten....unless henry gets himself injured.

Seems like a really great experience you had there, 14_Henry. I'm happy for you mate. :)

here here!! ...I vote on Arsenal.com myself but do you think Arsenal FC would fly me from New York to present an award if I ever won ??? :)

In a statement certain to further ruffle feathers at Old Trafford, Cruyff went on to declare that he hoped United's bitter rivals Arsenal would win the UEFA Champions Champions League this year, and insisted he, and the rest of Europe, would feel 'proud' if they did so.

"I think they (Arsenal) can go all the way and win the Champions League," he continued.

"If Arsenal win the tournament playing football the way only they know how then Europe would be proud to have such champions.

"I watch Arsenal all the time and I admire their style.

"In previous seasons they have played sublime football but gone out of the Champions League prematurely.

"They have loads of players I love to watch, not just Thierry Henry but Dennis Bergkamp, Robert Pires and Jose Reyes.

"Those guys are special footballers who raise themselves and their team above the ordinary."

Totally agree with you Nicky.
Oi Harvy, I don't know if you've noticed, but before writing this post, we both had the same amount of posts made even though you joined evo-web almost 2 years before me! Where's your commitment my friend?
That's bad news that is. [-X

hehe gooner I understand mate but dont have enough time to chat on forums I spend more time playing We7 :)

Seriously though I was never interested in talking football, i play plenty myself and only really came to evo-web just for the Pes/We7 patchs/option files and news, so I just dint bother to come down here....

i 'll try and make a few appearances now and again ;)

anyhow i just like to say off-topic just watched Ronaldinhio (check spelling) and he just scored a sublime free kick and played amazing, aint we just all glad he choose barcelona and not man utd !!!!! :D :D ;) :) :D [B/]

Great description there James. The first few paragraphs sound very much like how I would imagine a debutant's first time.

On a much worse note, looks like Poll will be reffing the United game at Highbury. Joy.

That's OK Harvy, you wanna see someone who's committed to evo-web? Look no further than Nickybaker, he only joined a month before me but he's made almost 3 times the amount of posts that I have.
Nicky, we salute you. :salute:

ps: Well done on the award giving by the way 14_Henry, sounds like you really enjoyed it. ;)

Thank you, not that I think it's a good thing.

OK, this thread has been quiet over the past few weeks, despite us doing really well on all three fronts, so to liven it up abit I thought I'd input some Arsenal trivia. Feel free to input any Arsenal related trivia questions when ever you want.
OK, here's mine............
Who was Arsenal captain when we won the League Cup in 1987?

Big one tomorrow, boys. What do we reckon? 3-0? :D

Seriosuly though I don't think it'll be easy but I'm sure we can come out on top at the Bridge AND Highbury.. lets just hope Monaco are in a good mood tomorrow :l

very huge game tomorrow ..... we will be at full strength with Bergkamp and all so .. I am confident but you never know .. Claudio's boys will play their heart out to avoid a defeat!

Why? A Madrid semi final would be the best thing possible ;)

I woke up this morning and when I thought of the game I got butterflies, coupled with the fact I put an offer in on a house and i'm waiting fora response i'm a bag of nerves!

Come on Arsenal that's what I'm fucking talking about!!!! What a response from the lads, you could see what it meant to them when we equalised, and I reacted the same way they did. For some reason scoring when your 1-0 down is much more rewarding than breaking the deadlock yourself. Come on Arsenal let's keep it going!!!!

I'm chuffed with that result, an early goal at Highbury would mean Chelsea would NEED a goal and hopefully we can hit them on the break.

I've just been in the Chelsea thread and have a manc accuse Paddy of diving. Fook me, if he hadn't jumped he would have lost his ankle!!!

Totally agree with you Nicky, but just to point out, Chelsea need to score anyway, y'know, away goals n all that?
