Shevy and Ronnie are out and out strikers , same goes for Raul(buts he been poor by his standards this year) on the whole I would go for Henry, not just because of his goals but things he does off the ball, runs, pass's etc etc

Some interesting thought there Harvy, and I've gotta say, Henry must be a brillliant player if he can pass the ball, off the ball. That must be a very unique skill.  ;)

Maybe it's a new move he invented where he pretends to make a pass without the ball just to fool the defender.

I know I was only joking, the only thing you could do of the ball is make runs to take out a defender who's tracking you to open up the defense or take advantage of the new offside rule and stand in an offside position to fool the defender then come back onside when the ball is being played.

Tiago reveals Gunners dream

EXCLUSIVE
Portuguese starlet Tiago has revealed to skysports.com that he would love the chance to play for Arsenal.

We brought you news last week that The Gunners had rekindled their interest in the 22-year-old Benfica star - after previously watching him in 2003.

Speaking exclusively to skysports.com - the midfield dynamo has confirmed he would jump at the chance of joining Arsene Wenger's outfit.

"To play in Arsenal would be a unique opportunity for any professional," the Portugal international revealed.

"I am happy in Lisbon, but it would be something to think about and almost certainly I would say yes."

Tiago added that he was not considering any offers at the moment and Benfica would decide his future.

"I don't know anything officially of any possible transfer, I have a contract with Benfica and it is they who must answer any interested clubs."

The young defensive midfielder - who has been likened to Patrick Vieira, admits he has been really impressed whenever he has seen The Gunners play.

"This year I have seen some games of the Arsenal on television and they play the best game in Europe at the moment," he added.

"They and Real Madrid are the best teams, but the advantage of the Londoners is that they do not depend as much on the individuals as the Spaniards do."

Tiago reaffirmed that he would love to be given the chance of a move to North London.

"To be next to soccer players like Henry, Vieira or Pires is worth all the gold in the world," he continued.

"I know of some friends who would pay for this possibility.

"English soccer is pretty for the spectator, but very demanding for a soccer player.

"There is a constant effort and an enormous amount of physical training, but I would be able to give it everything on the pitch.

"If Cristiano Ronaldo or Helder Postiga is playing in the Premier League, why could I not do it. My age is not a problem."

Tiago scored the crucial third goal for Benfica in their 3-1 Portuguese Cup semi-final win against Belenenses and the Lisbon giants now face Porto in the May final.

I think that a lot of the players at Arsenal possess great off-the-ball play. Especially the wide players like Freddie and Pires. Our formation seems to can change to almost a 4-3-3 during attacks with Freddie and Pires as wingers, Bergkmap supporting Henry and Gilberto playing behind Vieira in midfield (who's usually in acres of space). And, I'm sure many people have noticed how if when Ljungberg and Lauren our playing the ball around on the right, Pires will move into the box taking up a striker role and vice versca on the left with Cole, Pires and Henry.

Arsenal have enough defensive midfielders anyway, what Arsenal really need is another solid right back and another central defender to cover Toure and Campbell, Keown will retire soon after his testimonial and although Cygan has done well when brought in we need class at the back, maybe Mexes to come in and let's hope Senderos develops well. Up front we should be covered with Reyes, Bentley, Aliadiere taking over Kanu, Wiltord and Jeffers.

Wiltord and Jeffers are gone at the end of the season i think..

Heard Massimo Oddo is up for £4mil from Lazio. Though, will he play second fiddle to Lauren?

I'd second Mexes... i think Wenger could turn him into a great CB.

We've gotta keep Kanu, he's more important to us than you think.

I partially agree, he can sometimes play a great supporting role in games - especially away in the CL. The Inter game is probably the best indication of that.

I know I have a go at Gilberto every so often but he is important to our make-up. He doesn't go in for challenges nearly as much as I would want him to and even when he does it usually results in a foul or the opposition getting the ball back again immediately. He's very good, however, at just nicking the ball off people's feet and frustrating them and palying the odd excellent long ball. Good head on him too. To add to that, he is needed when Vieira's goes on those great forward runs to clear up any counter-attacks. That's one thing that Edu lacks.

I think we do need another young defensive midfielder in the De Rossi, Xabi Alonso mould however. Tiago is a very good player. It would all be about settling for him if he did come and after that, he could go on to plenty with Arsenal. There's always Yaya too of course - but he's at some Ukrainian side now - but would it take too much to ply him away? In his time at Belgium, he was touted numerous times as the best midfielder in the league (and only second best in all positions to another Ivorian at Anderlecht). And, of course, K-Lo has nothing but praise for him. Considering how immense K-Lo has been this season, that could only be a good thing.

Just got a phone call from Arsenal FC saying I've been chosen to present the Arsenal.com player of the month trophy on Saturday to Eduuuu! It's gonna be mad walking onto the pitch in front of a packed crowd at Highbury with a trophy! I also get two tickets to any coming games at Highbury, I'll choose the Man Utd game me thinks! I only voted on the website but didn't think I would get picked. GET IN!! :D

Wow. Loads of respect to you, dude. That's quite major - you're a lucky guy! Tell Edu all of the Arsenal thread at Evo love him. ;)

I'm not charmed by Kanu. Not at all. Lazy is the only word that comes up when I think about him ;)

Another defensive midfielder? We already have Vieira, Edu and Gilberto who can play on that position.

What we really need is a central back. If Lauren is injured, Toure can replace him and the new central back can replace Toure. If a central back is injured, the new central back can replace him of course ;)

I would really like to see Cannavaro coming, but I can't see that happening.

Rumors are saying we (and Liverpool) are interested in Lazio defender Oddo. He can leave Lazio for 5.000.000 quid.

Mexes and Ferrari would be at the top of my list for a central defender.

We already have Senderos coming through who, if he can prevent injuries, will be superb. He's already a great prospect.

Sol is 29 and is a world-class defender and will continue to be our leader in defense for about four or five years more, as long as he can make sure that groin injury doesn't become too big a hinderance.

K-Lo is 22 right now, Cole is 23 and both Clichy and Senderos are still around 18. So, in an ideal situation in the future we have a very good set of defenders there. I'd expect for maybe Kolo to take up a starting position at right-back or maybe in midfield and Cole and Clichy battling for the left-back position with maybe Cole moving up to Left mid.

So as I said at the top, Matteo Ferrari and Mexes would be at the top of my pragmatic list. And if we're looking closer to home, Rovers' McEveley looks lively. I don't know if he's good enough for Arsenal though. Wenger said after the Reyes transfer that we still had money left in the kitty so I think we will be buying in the summer.

Am one lucky mutha! Couldn't believe it at first when the lady told me. Definitely be sending the love from all of the Evo Arsenal thread! Let's hope I don't drop the trophy on Edu's foot and put him out for the rest of the season. :D Am gonna be proud to hand that trophy to him because he's been outstanding for Arsenal in the last few games and deservedly a first team regular now :D

Well done mate, don't forget to congratulate him on little Edu jr, and also don't forget to tell us what you said to him and vice versa. Why not post the picture on this thread when you get it, or maybe even use it as your avatar?! A good idea if there ever was one!

I usually vote in that but didn't this time. Well done that's a big prize

Interesting surname you've got there James. What's it's origin? ;)

Another arse-clinching win for us, it's nice to know we can still grind results out when we're not at the top of our game. I'm interested to see what James (or 14_Henry) said to Edu today. Next comes our hectic schedule against the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th placed teams in league, who were also last seasons top 5, and all these games in three different competitions!
We not only equalled Leeds and Liverpool's record of 29 games unbeaten from the start of the season, we have also beaten our own record we set last season with 31 Premiership games unbeaten from the end of last season to now.
I feel like dancing................\:D/

what about the crap about Real Madrid and Ljunberg ???

Damn galacticus bastards they best not nick him!!!

anyways hurrah for equaling the premiership record, the key game now is the champions league!!!! we must win!!!

me also thinks that now we are well ahead of man utd they will take it quite easy at highbury and not go all out for the win, I seriously dont think we need to, a draw would be enough, yeah they'll play to win but i dont think players will push up too much, it will be a tight game.

I can just see wenger playing gilberto, viera and edu across midfield????

The newest ones are of AW and Henry are moving along to Madrid too. I'm sure you can all make up your mind about that...

Good win yesterday. Jittery in the second half but we did well and those are the sorts of games we would have drawn last season. Shame Henry couldn't score. He had two marvellous chances. Great goals from Pires and Bergkamp alike, however. Edu and Toure looked equally sensational too.

Four, potentially 5, tough games ahead now. I think the reason Freddie was rested today was because of that. After all, Gilberto will be missing the semi-final so it's better for Wenger to make use of his resources now.

Are you being serious?

They woul want to beat us no matter what!

Totally agree with you Nicky.
Oi Harvy, I don't know if you've noticed, but before writing this post, we both had the same amount of posts made even though you joined evo-web almost 2 years before me! Where's your commitment my friend?
That's bad news that is. [-X

If your talking about the Man United game, it's on Sunday mate, just to save you from confusion.
