Anth's FC24 Gameplay Mod

What are the sort of steps people take to ensure this mod is working properly? E.g. deleting the mod folder before reapplying the mod; are there any temp files or other things that need deleting or editing in some capacity?
I can tell it's applied, but every time I play I can feel the classic issues coming through -- players avoiding the ball, the ball sticking or being magnetised to the opposition's feet, the gameplay feels a bit faster than it should be... stuff like that

Which version you playing? Do you see the splash screen? All settings correct from the read me?

Doesn’t sound like it’s working.
 
CPU AI actually properly sprints instead of constantly playing tiki taka. CPU would never score a goal like this in any FIFA until now.

That was great. The more modern the football games get, the less ambitious the individuality of the players.

You'd think with all this coding and algorithms that the COM would constantly surprise you but they don't, the AI is just instructed to pass it back and forth even a clear shooting opportunity presents itself; or in vanilla FC24's case, they ninja dribble on the byline and blast it at the near post.

These games aren't designed with the expectation the human player is going to experience playing against the COM thus they're not going to see their shortcomings. The player is expected to play against other human players online all the time that's going to offer variety, not the offline modes.

You know the deal, backup your current TU 9 Files please before replacing with TU 8 files. In short: FC24.exe / FC24Trial.exe and the complete Patch Folder. After that you can replace with my Files and you are able to still play with Anth´s Gameplay mods and every other mod which you are running in your Mod Manager. (Mod Manager not needs an update)

What’s the restriction, Mate? Less than 5 GB?? My download is close to 5 GB, but not full 5 GB. That’s why I am asking. In Germany we have 5 GB mega download Limit. Anyway, I will upload the Files again later when I am back home from work for you. Check the thread later that day if you still need the Files.
 
Ahh yes the aggressive patching culture of our time. EA only updated this what, less than 2 weeks ago?

One has to wonder, If your frequent patches aren't to just fix a previous patch that attempted to also fix a previous patch... Then what the fuck are you patching exactly this late into the games release that should've been caught and fixed during development or at least early post launch?

Pure aggression towards the Modders of the Games imo. Didn´t read the Patch notes till yet, but yeah, what could it be so important in February ´24?!
 
@Anth James Brother.. I'm genuinely impressed with what you've accomplished with this mod. I quit FIFA last year because I was tired of how arcade-like the game was, as well as a lack of realism. Since then I've been playing PES 21 with gameplay mods, which has been great. I saw something about your mod online so I was curious to check it out. After playing a handful of games I can't believe this is FIFA (FC now). Everything is so random and every play is unique. Great work. Question for you... I have the mid-tier Patreon, I know the highest tier offers different versions.. are any of those slightly faster and less heavy? Just curious.

Yeah the bonus gameplay version included in the Full Gameplay Package is slightly faster. It's something I can definitely put together a little more purposefully though in a future version also.

It's not about correcting bugs anymore I think, but it's about keeping the usual suspects happy (or, at least, engaged).
I think that there's a sort of "circular" development cycle that goes pretty much like this:

Patch released -> Exploit/OP move found -> Complaints from the ones that lose because of OP move -> Start over

Hey guys, pLEASE make sure you read ALL of the instructions in the read me files - it's super important to have the mod working well.

For example - you absolutely MUST play on DEFAULT PACE in game or the mod will not work properly. There are three versions - Slow, Medium and the regular. You only need to select one version to play.

This includes the base V15, or if you go for the 'Full Gameplay Package, there are now 4 gameplay bases to cater for different gameplay styles. There are regular, medium and slow version for each base, plus a range of other variations, including a bonus gameplay!

If you're new to my gameplay mod entirely, this is some of what you can expect in general:


- Realistic Movement - of course the animation system isn't perfect, but players speed of movement is considerably slowed down from the default game and animations behave much better than before. Game tempo is greatly considered in this as well as players abilities and stats. Trust me guys, this is far more than slowing down some turning circles and speed and acceleration, there's been a huge number of changes and it has been extensively balanced and tested.

- Player and team individuality. STATS MATTER! You'll know if you're going up against a big team with great players - on both end of the pitch. This goes for strong players, good dribblers, technical players, lethal finishers, players with good balance, great defenders - and much, much more. You will see this reflected in CPU behaviour as well as your own.

- CPU variety has been dramatically increased. You will see crosses, long shots, tackles, through balls, long balls. Don't judge on one game alone, play with a variety of teams with different abilities and personalities and you will see it come through.

- Passing, shooting speeds have been balanced a lot to create a much more natural and realistic experience. The ball no longer shoots out of the foot like a rocket.

- Big changes to ball physics. It behaves more naturally, deflecting and bouncing around like it should.

- The ball is no longer 'stuck' to the players feet and the ball feels like a separate entity. You will see heavier touches, so more care is needed. You will see more natural and realistic deflections, traps, errors and trajectories.

- First touch has been made more realistic - stats matter in this as well!

- EXTREMELY IMPORTANT positional/behavioural changes lead to a completely fresh feeling game - that isn't stuck to rigid patterns of play. The pitch is balanced and varied now and you will see this reflect in both how you play and how the CPU plays.

The result is much more realistic game flow and behaviour. The reduction of a reliance on cutback goals for example.

- A more difficult avenue to goal - the midfield battle is much improved due to a number of purposeful tweaks and adjustments. This is not some end to end experience where you end up with 6-5 scorelines anymore. The positioning, behaviour and movement has been massively adjusted for both attacking and defending.

- The CPU actually play football against you. None of this 3 passes to the striker, turn and shoot. There's some really nice buildup play, passing backwards, sideways etc.

- Players physical interactions mean a lot more now. There's no more sliding off each other and bursting beyond anyone you want now. Your approach to goal needs to be far more considered than before. It's not just about speed! There is a genuine battle to win physical battles, and this leads to a large variety of outcomes and differences in each sequence of play. It also makes you have to think much more tactically about your approach.

- Big increase in the 'scope for fouls'. The CPU will tackle more, fight for the ball and you will generally see a lot more organic clashes between players - often resulting in more fouls.

- The game feels alive and much more intense now! There's a great fight to control and win the ball now.

- Lots of little realistic additions. For example, you can't play laser guided passes behind you anymore. You have to think a lot more about body positioning. - Crazy boosts removed!

- Much more!
