2010 FIFA World Cup

Game seems a tiny bit faster to me.

Pitch seems bigger to me, but I am playing on the broadcast camera and it is zoomed out. But it seems like there is a bit more space around.

Doesn't feel different to Fifa at all to me. Pretty much the same game.

You seem to have a bit more control of the keeper when he comes out now. But that could be me just imagining it?

Keepers have done a few good saves so far aswell.

I have seen the computer try about 3 overhead kicks in about 8 games played.

I have had my keeper sent off aswell :DD

The ball seems to make a different noise when hitting the net, that gives the feel of a bit more umph! but I don't know if that is me imagining again?

So not anything major. Pretty much same old same old.

But I have only played about 8 games of 2mins halves which are fucking pointless, so it is hard to get a real feel for it.
very serious question:

in what situation did your keeper get sent off?

first match i played, all zoomed out on the new broadcast angle, feels slower and heavier and more space on the pitch, i like it.

Player to the right of the goal with his back to me just inside the area. I made teh keeper run out and slide down to grab the ball. So I slid in from behind, got the ball but my whole body took him out. I thought it was a bit harsh, but I have never had my keeper sent off before.

plays good so far. players feel a bit snappier when turning and stuff, i think its a positive, not sure yet.

celebrations are cool, you can do the spanish archer as a 'finishing move' and thumb sucking and wrist flicking as running moves

sounds promising

can someone please try and go round the keeper in a 1 v 1 situation and get a penalty, just to see if they get a straight red card...

People is talking about the new two-button control for this game, thats nothing.
First picture of the new exclusive controller EA has planned for Fifa 11:

Ok, played a few matches on semi-manual and normal speed, and I'm quite enjoying it. This is basically a tighter version of Fifa10, as we suspected, but it feels much more playable. Most aspects of the gameplay seem to be improved slightly.

Pitch texture is nice and the stadium atmosphere is pretty good. However I wish EA would go easy on the soft focus effect in cut-scenes. It makes the game look fuzzy and not particularly HD.

No major overhaul, but It's the game Fifa10 should have been.

Cool stuff, sounds good. Will judge for myself later today. Thanks for all your input in here so far, guys!

Since I cannot try this demo till evening I'd like someone tell me:

1. Lob shots. Please tell me that now are really much harder to do. I'm tired of them online.

2. Keepers. Please tell me that now they stay near to the line and don't go out without you to press (Y).

3. If keepers still do whatever they want, please tell me that with 2 X (Y) you can now REALLY keep them where they should stay.

Please. :'(

Hmm some good, some bad:

The Bad:
Pausing stops the current line of commentary (tiny annoyance but annoyance all the same), worst thing is match highlights are easily as bad as Fifa10, I just won 3-0 with a number of shots on target and the post match highlights showed just two goals nothing else, pathetic.

The Good:
Loving the post match stat screens (it says man of the match but you can view that screen for every player by pressing LT/RT).

finally we can see stats for all players again as with Fifa08.

Was booked for a foul I made about 10-15 mins before the play was stopped and it still "remembered" the foul and showed me a highlight of it.

As for the gameplay it's hard to tell in stupid 2x2min halves, passing on semi seems less accurate but too short to tell.

In what way? Seems pretty good to me.

It's hard to pin point. But I have noticed alot of occasions (and I have only played about 10-12 games) where I press in a direction and it seems to put it too far in either direction. Seems to be less accurate to me.

Every now and again I get this probably in Fifa 10. But it seems to happen alot more in this.

Could be that semi is a bit more sensitive, so I need to get used to it?

Some other things I have noticed;

I put it on slow and it seems to play a much better game.

It seems a bit more fluid than Fifa 10. Turning etc so you can get out of tight situations easier.

If you go more offensive, the opposition AI take more advantage of the space that your full backs leave. Playing long balls into space for their wingers.

I am playing now:

A bit faster on slow in relation with fifa10. I hope it is just the demo...

Perfect pitch dimensions, better moving and turning of the players

You cant turn off the commentary! Why?

I play slow/manual and i love it!!!

I'm surprised no one's discussed the defensive AI, which has exactly ZERO improvements. All the above is true...except that the game is slower- it feels a bit fast, but I've been somewhat inviting the Spanish attack and the Italian defensive AI has been slap-stick at best. I WILL NOT buy this game because of this alone. For those who don't care about defensive basics there are quite a few enjoyable improvements. It's impossible to play a Calcio-listic slow/defensive style, my preferred strategy.

I think you're right. I've been putting it to the test and you have to be a little more accurate on the analogue stick, but I think it feels better. Passing can be a bit more wayward if you don't concentrate properly.

Just won 3-0 plus had a 25 yard finesse shot clatter the post and a 35 yard power drive that hammered the cross bar, post match replays = 3 goals + 1 trickle back to keeper, utter, utter, utter shite.

Yup noticed the same here, it's erratic though as it seems to randomly decide oh that pass will go way off target for no particular reason.
