2006 FIFA World Cup (EA Sports)

the player models still look shit, and the only thing I'm impressed by is the fact that the players all have the right boots (Owen - Umbro X whatever/ I've seen players with new Mercurials etc,)

yeah the boots like greatm think they only have nike adidas and umbro tho

Agree with JayD. The passing, shooting does look poor. It seems its very 'blocky' when the transition from one animation to the other happens. Also whats with the crossing? High, no speed and very much a 'lob' cross, or is that just the skill of the player? Still i really like the nets though!

if you compare how the net behaves on pc version and on those 360 gameplay videos there´s definetly difference. in the 360 version they are much better.
i think the crossing is too high on short distances but on long distances side to side, goalkicks corners its good. too high when crossing into goal area theres the tapping of crossing button that makes ground cross there should be 1 more cross type thats between those.

ye just like WE/PES......... i mean they'v nicked a lot of stuff from them why not that ;)

it would be great if there would be own difficulty level for goalies and gameplay. i would keep goalie difficulty on professional and put gameplay on world class. 4 days to go :)

:) I think they should stop making the goalies too good on higher levels, try and add more depth to the gameplay with the passes/crosses and shots and then we are looking at a game which for once could challenge WE/PES

Finally got the PC demp working yesterday after my direct x issues and I must say I'm actually impressed, certainly not as good play wise as PES but definatly a refreshing change and with the 360 graphics this will be the first FIFA I have bought since World cup 98' , yes that long. Definatly not as bad as some are making out. Yes the graphics are crap on the PC demo even when set to max but the 360 graphics look great and I will be getting it on that. I've scored a few good goals even on world class so I'm really looking forward to this.

the game is out here in switzerland...not as good as winning eleven...but still a very good game...
That sounds about right but its fun. It doesnt talk as much bullshit as PES/WE does either.

No real supercharged AI Players or your players suddenly forgetting how to control/strike a football!

Thats good im the same as you I want a football game to feel as good and as real as possible.

Its also good if the next PES has cut out a lot of its bullshit, I dont mind being beaten because the CPU is playing well (which happens on FIFA on harder levels) but if its just because of bullshit and statued players who you cant run them to where you want them to run etc.. and awful touches and control of players who usually have a good touch then its bollocks!

i agree playing pes5 against cpu its horrible, i stoped playing against cpu long time ago, as the game is boring as hell, i only played when my frends come around, but agen i read revews about the we10 and watched a vid match barca vs ac milan 3-4 for milan + england vs brasil, and it surprised me as i didn't aspect konami to improve the problems they had on pes5 the players are stronge fighting for the ball, falling in the groun, and no more stupit fauls + lots of animations etc...

anyways thats not the forum to talk about sorry
wc2006 in my xbox360 it temps me to buy it, but i thing am gonna wait for fifa 2007 as i prefer to play with clubs leages and cups,
hope to see true nextgeneration gameplay physics

Now that's detail!

Pff... they haven't even got the "ENGLAND" writing on the back of the socks right. ;)

I think the difference in FIFA WC 06 is that its suppose to be a World Cup game so if you play as for example mexico in it they play the best football they can they dont go suddenly bad in the game because of some stat its the player who plays who does the mistake aiming the pass wrong ect. passing for example should be very easy in the game as it is easy in real life for good players and national teams are full of these good football players (even not so good player can pass quite well).
i want that the pass goes for the right player area automatically just based on the power of the pass and direction not that i have to inch perfect aim the pass to the receivers head. i leave that to shooting, passing should be easy because you´re playing with good players in WC game. if some football player has low skill on passing for example you still can select who you want to pass very easilly (think you playing football as i assume you´re not as skilled as professionals on long passes, you see a player on the other side of the field and deside im gonna pass to that guy you kick the ball and it goes too long or too short or on wrong direction) football games like WE/PES you need to aim very carefully just to select the right guy and because gamepads arent very accurate its kinda hard to a player like me. as instead the computer should automatically select the guy based on the power you select . in nintendo revolution this could be done right way because you could point the spot you want the ball to go very accurately just leaving the succession of pass on how presice you put power on the pass assuming you kick the ball from open position.

dreaming if i would be seabass:

nintendo revolutions controller could make football games much better.
gamepads are not very accurate take FPS ´s there´s aim helping on console FPS´s why because its hard to aim with gamepad compared to mouse where you
will aim right where you want in a second.

just imagine your shooting free kick in the game. you aim (point with revolution controller) somewhere on the goal, you select the spot where you kick the ball with d-pad/analog and third you put the height with kick button. passing could be done same way just changing height to power of the pass and the kick button to pass button. trigger button could change if you want ground or air pass.
you could play great football with 2 main buttons!: basic shoot A, ground pass B. and trigger that could alter for example accurate shooting trigger+A. air pass: trigger+B.

I must admit the idea of the Revolution controller has grown on me as I have now seen its potential benefit in future games but im not 100% convinced ill get along with it. I didnt like the N64 controller (I found that too big and awkward) I didnt particularly like the GC controller so im not sure about that 1. I like Sony's good old Dual Shock 2 and MS's Controller S and 360 Controller 1.

i mean a revolution style controller where you can aim very precise. if they would make own controller type for football games. like there are for flight, driving, and shooting games i would buy one just to play football with better control compared to dual shocks and 360s controller 1s

We sure do but the game is out on Friday and ill be getting it and having a major weekend of World Cup Football :)

isnt the game out today on states? i would assume if they put demo on marketplace before launch, today is the day? if not then we get demo after 27th.

EA and MS suck when it comes to putting Demo's on the Market Place BEFORE the game comes out.

GR:AW Demo came out a few weeks after the game came out....

If football game developers just used the full 360 degrees of an analogue stick instaed of the 8 direction BS, it would be much more precise.:)
