It's finally more like WE/PES but it's not a great step forwards, it's just a more playable FIFA.

You never know the 360 version may be the pick of the bunch and remember the PC demo has been toned down a lot. But it sounds promising given the 2 reviews so far.

In the same Mag Tetris DS got 35/40, I think you've got it all wrong with the scoring system mate, they are not comparing games to different systems graphically!

From the WE10 thread
Errr....when did I compare them graphically. I was talking about CPU power and physics and how its pathetic that EA is using a system that is much more powerful and they still can't get the physics right. Like how the 360 could even pickup the slack if ea used very crude physics code, unlike how Konami must make very clean code for the PS2 WE physics as the PS2 can't pickup the slack of poor code. I was not talking about graphics at all. Also, didnt you catch the first line of my post where I said, Lets say we are to judge these games based on scores alone, just pretend.:)

I think Konami have used Renderware for all their versions of WE/PES on the PS2, I assume it is really responsible for all there physics etc. I just thought it was an impressive review given from Famitsu mag, considering it is a Japanese games mag! I didnt mean for it to be compared to gospel or anything, but in the same mag as WE10 for it to score only 2 points behind it's still not bad.

I also think the review isnt based on graphics etc like IGN and Gamespot, but I thought I remembered reading that Famitsu is based on 4 reviewers scores, i.e. each scores it out of 10, the total is added up to a total out of 40. Maybe I'm wrong, and prob ThomasGOAL knows the truth, someone could ask him, or someone who reads Famitsu could help us out here.

Considering Criterion Software/Games developed the Renderware SDK and EA bought (July 2004) Criterion Software/Games and everything concerning the company (including Renderware), then whats EA's excuse?

EA has done good and bad for the gaming industry as a whole. one they monpolize but two they actually do PROVIDE. i mean it's bit of good and bad really. fifa as a game series has been ok. i personally think fifa street 2 was a very good attempt at making a good street ball game. It had a flow that was believeble to em as an arcade game. as far as the fifa series in general i never really played ANY Winning eleven game until winning eleven 6 FE for my gamecube9still love it but...) so i came very late into this series. either way i've played the fifa's since 2002 and to me the series got very bad by 2005 but 2006 was a vast improvemnet HOWEVER the gameplay was little bit to DEFENSIVE and the shooting at goal was never good 9that's stayed the same every year no matter what0 BUT i have the 360 vers of RTTWC and thats just OK not good because of the shooting mechanics again. this next vers of a world cup game i'm hearing has been marginally if not finally been looked at and fixed to be more beliveable and act more realistically then in fifa years past. game engine or not it's really what EA decideds to tweak. it's just a shame the game engine has not been advanced or tweaked as the konami one has been but then again has winning eleven really changed eietehr/ maybe the flows better the runs more realsitic but overall same gamne s everywhere...

Hmm.. I'm so fustrated. I played the two games back to back and I just wish they were merged :( (though in all seriousness probably only a quarter of FIFA and three quarters of PES ;))

The movement is much more free and ball control is much more free in FIFA. In PES you're players have greater variations and so on to make it much, much more realistic but it's also incredibly fustrating how on the rails the movement of the player and thus the ball is.

I dunno - just play the two games back to back and you'll get the hankering I get :(

no 360 demo yet

i am checking everyday for this demo, i really hope it is half as good as i am expecting!

yeah i hope d emo comes out just so i can ease the wait. right now i also wanna play the demo to see whether it's worth the 60plus purchase?

i really should stop refreshing, the demo aint coming until the game is out at which point i am bound to have already bought it

Thats not fact.

Just being pessimistic! :D

i have same feeling. first i play WC06 its fun but shooting isnt that good and goalies are too good. then i try PES5 its fun too, shooting is great. then i just get tired of it, ofcourse we all like different things so merging the games would result maybe in even worser game. or not if i could deside what things stay in the game, ofcourse someone else would not like it. but would i really care.

What about PES's bullshit factor? you know when suddenly everything you try nothing works, your players suddenly have crap control, the CPU can steal the ball off you easily and foul you and get away with it! does that not bother you? it does me because you just know when you are going to lose when your best players suddenly become retards and under the CPU's Spell. Thats one thing im glad FIFA doesnt seem to do.

in 2002 the World Cup final was watched by more than 1 billion people worldwide, more than ten times the number of people who typically watch the Super Bowl. i just dont like the fact that IGN titled their WC06 review:"A delightful celebration of the Super Bowl of soccer." i guess americans dont understand it being big tournament without mentioning Super Bowl.

here´s a nice schedule for Germany 2006 :http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/t/2006/schedule.html

for me its time....

its time to switch games i think, i always hated old versions of fifa but i just downloaded the demo (for pc) and i must say that the game is not bad at all.

I agree WE still better than fifa gameplay-wise but in 2006 this game looks old, no presentation, no hi-def, no 16/9, no dolby, same graphics of "we6".... (btw we on 16/9 lcd tv looks like dino-dini soccer...)

now fifa has all these things and the gameplay is quite good...

I think that (at least till WE goes next gen) i will play fifa! (what i said.... aaaaaargh)

it seems that the difficulty level on 360 videos are on amateur or semi-pro makes gameplay look really stupid

Same as winning eleven vids!

Always on lowest difficulty

those new screens look fucking amazing, just hope i can play the demo soon

Now that's detail!

Just watched the videos and while it looks like a huge improvement, those shooting and passing animations are pathetic, I really hope they sort those.

Pretty good vids, you can tell they play on the lowest difficulty because Brazil keeps going towards their goal instead of England's goal lol. Also, is it me or the yellow/green part of the crowd celebrates when Rooney scores a goal, that's kind of weird. Did you see Ferdinand? he looks like an american football player, huge shoulders lol.
