Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

I just can't understand one thing.
If we suffer a foul and the ball goes far from the player how could we take a fast freekick without seeing the black screen?
The referee pass us the ball?

sorry for my baaaaad english :(

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

This game looks good but i've got a feeling the Master League is still the same shite they give us each year.

No, no. The ML is wonderful. What more could you possibly want? OK, so it doesn't mirror the real world league structures, cup structures, CL structure, it's full of holes, tedious to play, is completely devoid of inspiration and imagination and hasn't improved in 5 years, but apart from that, and the fact that it's, as you put it, "shite", it's perfect.

And let's face, what would your rather have - untucked shirts with sweat stains, or a good ML career mode? Exactly.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

Hi everybody...I'm the guy who loved PES2008 graphics since the first screenshots release...I'm a comic drawer who first defended Konami graphics work when most of this thread users didn't like it...I sent few messages and I know most of you can't remember me, but now I'm very PROUD to say that I WAS RIGHT and I can't understand why only now people admit PES2008 visuals is superb...Most of you said that FIFA's one was long better but I told you that it wasn't true...I said that FIFA only had stronger lights effects but Konami's players models was more realistic and smoother...This is my LITTLE Victory...Sorry for my English

Yes i remember you very well. I like what you said before and i like your vision. Only thing i don't like about you is your avatar. ;)

My guess is that we'll see an all new blue screen.

a dribbling style i would like to see is the outside foot (i.e c.ronaldo and sometimes ronaldinho) it will add more realism.

it has improved alot in 5 years IMO, but it is still not perfect. And needs alot of improvements, but your general disdain and posting is annoying the shit out of me and probably everyone else on here

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

The feature list just keeps on growing. My favourites so far:

- Fans in pub.
- Breeze blocks to hold net in place.
- Invisible sweat stains.

I hear the next feature to be announced will be urine stains on the players shorts if they forget to take a leak before the game.

That would be taking the piss.

They'll save that as a new feature for PES2010.

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

Yeah, someone mentioned that earlier (with "breezeblocks in pic 2 :(" or some shite)

and I for one would like to know what the two of you are referring to, and why it invokes an unhapy smiley face.

hmmmmmmmmmm

And that hysterical excitement that greets the most feeble of "new features" gets on my tits. Every forum needs some balance, and I'm happy to provide it here.

I'll be thinking of you honey

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

The more clever, far-seeing, expert, competent, exhaustive post I ever read and agreed.

I also feel the game-player control balance issue from ages, you're touching the core of the gameplay I believe.
This is a touchy issue since there is people who ask Gattuso can't dive.

Since of game control leads to a TV-like gameplay, so I prefer the way of player control, towards a "toy" gameplay that as far as complex, at the end of the day it must be a toy.
After all if I want players do all by themselves I watch a match on TV.

(sorry for my terrible eng)

As usual from Trance only quality posts. Thank you.

I understand you, don't worry about the English. ;)

Yeah, I agree completely. I much prefer the gameplay more towards the "toy" way, rather than just feeling like I am watching a game on TV. Since it is an interactive game, I'd rather have too much interactivity than too little, although I would obviously have "just enough" control. :)

I very much agree with Trance_Allstar in his comments.

Cheers for reading it, I always write lots of text. :)

I just can't understand one thing.

Hehe. Well, since it is realistic, it is desireable right? If the ball goes too far away, another ball might be thrown in. The best thing would be teammates chasing after the ball and passing it back to the freekick taker, like real-life.

I am amazed at some of these features though.

Diving - In ISS64/98/2000 for the N64
Freekicks without blackscreens - ISS64/98/2000

Congratulations KONAMI, you have reinstated great features that were used 10 years ago (In another KONAMI footy game no less). :D

I like the features, but I am amazed at their inability to make changes and alterations.

Ohh well, atleast we are now up to par with ISS98. Now we can move forward into uncharted territory. ;)

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

From French PSM

"PES always privileged the beautiful play with instinctive and dynamic movements. Unfortunately for the enthusiasts, in this new episode the Japanese developers followed well the results of the world cup. Conscious that Italy, at the top of world football, KCET thus integrated one of its specialties houses: the dive."

Francais bast...!?!??!?Italy World Champion and also Milan european champion

Fortunately Konami is not going to add "Zidane's Karate Butt"...In this way PES 2008 could be the first soccer game with beat'em up Features...French are the usual nationalist...I remember that (during 2006 world cup) the only player diving was Fabio Grosso in the match against Australia...Now I ask EVERYBODY :Where is going to play Fabio Grosso in the current season ???? :lmao:

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

i can't see all the scans, some of them say "image removed due to high-bandwith usage". where can i get them?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

Thanks for the scans and information guys, you are all stars in my eyes.

Game is looking very good judging from the latest scan, knowing magazine 'lead' times I would say that these screens are at least 2 months old, so the game is going to look even better now.

That biased French magazine......they were the only team in world history that manage to score 0 goals being the champions in the next worl cup.......

Anyway i am tired of screenshots. Give us a god damn video ffs.

LOL!

It's all good to have nice graphics and details in the game, but people make a big fuss about thing like untucked shirts and stuff like that...when there's more important things to look at like the improvement of the single-player modes, especially the Master League!

So many things that Konami could do with the ML that wouldn't be that hard (compared to sweat stains say..) but probably won't.

Things like currency, 20 team leagues, a proper CL, not making it so everyone develops into Maradona (Smith? Really?!), being forced to rotate your players every game etc etc

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

is it possible for Konami to get the licenses for the league cups?

Re: WE/PES 2008 Next Gen - News/Discussions Official Thread (Last Update 07/23/07)

without the black screen, it would be sweet to actually see players running the ball back from the net to the center circle after scoring a goal when down a goal or two; maybe even shave off a few seconds from the clock. it would also be nice to be able to have the defensive wall delay free kicks and request a whistle. besides that, a decent ML wouldnt be too much to ask on top of all taht
