The TV Show Thread

I quite like The Pacific, more than I thought I would anyway. I haven't seen much of Band Of Brothers so can't compare it to that but it's definately enjoyable.

I noticed that V has came back as well.
 
Got it ready to watch but never really got around to it. I think I watched the first two but didn't finish it for some reason. Will definately check it out though.
 
Same here, also doing that for Justified and Damages.....and V. What's the point of having 4 episodes and then a 4 month break!?

And Dags, if you liked Saving Private Ryan you should love BoB's. Amazing show, especially when they start/end with the real soldiers talking about what happend....with a tear in there eye. So moving!

I enjoyed Part one and two of The Pacific last night, I love the overall look and feel.

My fingers are crossed, but I'm confident the show will finish on a good note.

Castle's great, no interest in watching a promo though, if you enjoy a show why on earth would you want to see any spoilers for it? It's hard enough to be surprised by a show as it is these days.
 
The complicity between Castle and Beckett is what most catches my attention. The chemistry between this couple is so great, conveys emotions to the spectator. Probably my favourite show nowadays (alongside with FlashForward).
 
Read an interview article when it first came out and they said the show focus is their relatioship, similar to Bones. It's more about them and the humor, etc then the actual murders. Which I think is really good, CSI is so dull now. Still watch it as it's ok but most of the time I find myself dozing off or just being bored by the musical interludes and constant refreshing of info from earlier in the show. I mean how many murders can you care about?!

The episodes are not as good as the pilot now but I have a great time watching the show. The opening scene of last week's episode was crazy. Ouch :P.

Jeez, starting to get busy watching Lost, Heroes, Pacific and now V.

A lot of my favourite shows are on the verge of coming to an end :(.

24 and Lost are finished after a few more weeks.

Chuck is probably on it's final season from the way the storyline is going, Heroes probably only has one more season left in it...

I don't see those shows replaced by stuff of the same quality.
 
New shows suck you say?

Justified, Human Target & Spartacus are 3 new shows that are superb (Justified being the stand out new show), and if you're into Sci Fi then Caprica is IMO very good as well :)
 
Two people in my work have watched Spartacus and both said it's utter garbage? Soft porn, shit acting and over-use of gore?

I'm not too worried about the shows ending. 24 and Heroes can be replaced (Heroes has been poor for a long time now). Chuck is superb and it'll be sad to see that go but it's easy enough to make a similar show.

Lost is my main one. There just wont be another TV show like this to have me captivated each episode for as long as it has. I'm looking forward to it ending for it all to tie up, but I'll be gutted there'll be no more to watch.
 
I would place Spartacus between very good guilty pleasure and very good drama.

Yeah the pilot and the FX suck, but the rest is amazing. There's violence but not all episodes are gore. Nude scenes can be shocking but most of them are important to the show.

If you are not easily offended, this show deserves a chance, especially for the couple Batiatus/Lucretia played by John Hannah and Lucy Lawless.
 
I agree about Lost, it will be sad to have it finish, I just hope the ending does the rest of the seasons justice. It's also one of those shows where you can re-watch some of the earlier episodes and with a different perspective, knowing stuff from the later episodes.

Well it has been pretty lame since the (IMO) very good first season, but it's one of those things I just watch even though it's not that great, because I want to see it to the end, and there's still the odd good episode.
 
Yeah Heroes is ok, it's not a show I watch every week but it's enjoyable if you watch a few after each other. Gets you into it more.

Watched the 1st 3 episodes of The Pacific the other day. Couldn't resist. All after each other. Really good, well expect epi. 3 which was a bit dull. But probably a nice rest between the other episodes of the show.

Really? That's a big shame, didn't see anything on Tv.com other than some speculation but others saying the ratings were fairly decent considering Fox's usual habit of not promoting shows and moving them around a lot.

I loved it from the first ep as did my wife, but a few people online are saying they thought it got much better after the third episode so might be worth people "forcing" themselves past the first 2 and letting it evolve, really is a great show.
 
A mate has said the same. Watched the first episode and tried to look past the comicbook-esque style. Seemed ok, good enough to watch some more. Also have no idea why anyone would be complaining about the softpron part......
