The TV Show Thread

I've actually got a bit of a funny headache since watching, I kinda went into a daydream watching it.

Did anyone else see the white borders get bigger on each side then go back off the screen?

Did not work for me but did you see the flashing image of a person strapped to chair before and after the video.

I just done it twice and both times it did not work have to say only when i saw it again did i spot the flashing image.

Slightly off-topic but has anyone tried those audio files that make you think something is happening? I've tried ones that made me feel high, like a dentist was drilling my tooth (actually felt like my tooth was vibrating!) and one where I thought the couch was moving.

A LOT of those worked on me and shit me right up, the feeling high one was pretty good though

Edit: http://www.bwgen.com/index.htm

You download the program there and there's loads of audio files to try with headphones. Give it a try, leave your mind open and see if it works :)

I recommend the Dentist ;)

Derren Brown is quickly becoming boring and repetitive. Yet yesterday I booked to see him in March. He subliminaled me into it I swear, because 2 out of 2 weeks I've been disappointed.

I don't get how you can say Derren Brown is boring and repetitive. He hasn't done the same trick twice in the 3/4 years he's been broadcasting and every show prior to these DIY type programs have been excellent. I don't think there's one trick I've seen that I've ever thought, "Oh that was ridiculous" or "boring", they've always been rather mind-blowing.

I'm also a little disappointed at the lottery episode and the stick-to-your-chair episode didn't work for anyone I know, but there are perfectly good explanations why. It was obvious he wasn't going to explain his method on the lottery show, otherwise everyone would be trying it, and he already had to gain clearance from Camelot before he started, so I doubt they would really have given him clearance if he was then going to tell all. The STYC episode can be explained mainly by the environment you are in and the fact you are not in optimal conditions. Regardless of this though, the other tricks he's done on those two shows were excellent. Especially the undercover tramp one in today's, where a random guy gave all his and money and even his shoes to him. I have a friend who's seen him live here in Nottingham and some of the tricks he performed live were unexplainable and were clearly unplanned (e.g. he threw a toy out to the audience, which selected people at random to participate). The guy is beyond simple misdirection, psychology and magic tricks. He's superb and a lot of his tricks are refreshing, simply because they haven't been done before in public and under such conditions.

I agree, I still think what he does is amazing but I can't help but feel like he's been a bit of a tit doing the lottery thing and saying "I'll tell you how I did it" - then come out with a pack of lies. He didn't tell us how he did it, there's a difference between guessing the weight of an ox and guessing totally random numbers like the lottery numbers, and he didn't fix the lottery because it's not as simple as knocking out some security guards. THAT'S what annoys me.

Also, I notice he said last night "there are no subliminal messages, I won't be using subliminal messages", then the picture of the guy in the chair flashed up three times. I'm getting really confused with him, I think he's great but stop the lies!

I just hope that the last show is dedicated to showing you how he did everything.

I totally agree with you MJ. But that fact that you know what is going to happen now is what has become repetitive and boring for me .

I think I just feel a bit let down with this new series, hasn't stopped me buying my tickets to go see him live though!

Anyone watched Virtuality? It was co-written by Ronald D Moore (BSG) and was aired as a TV Film. I thought it was quite good.... too bad it wasnt picked up by Fox.

I haven't seen that no, anyone watched Leverage? Fun show, watched the two seasons of it so far in the last couple of weeks :)

Tonight sees the return of:

Castle
Heroes (double episode)
House (2 hr episode)
The Big Bang Theory
And probably some other shows we don't watch :)

Nothing then really... :))

I think the only current shows I'm following are Fringe and Supernatural and the latter I'm only watching because I've invested in three seasons of it already. It's a long wait until next year when the main shows are back (24/Lost)

Anyone know when Heroes is back on BBC2? Getting shite now, but I'm gonna give this season a go.

Apparantly House is back on Sky on 4th October, so not much longer to wait. I'd rather wait and watch that on SkyHD - not like I need to watch it today to keep up with forums (like say Lost, which I love to jump onto the various forums to discuss theories etc!)

probably next year lmao. if i was you, i will watch heroes somewhere else. by the time it shows up here you will be able to buy the whole season on dvd in america

Anyone watched Bored To Death? Sounds like a good show, might give that a watch tonight. Just noticed it's got Alan from The Hangover in it as well :)

What happened in the last finale of SVU?

Did it involve the wannabe forensic guy kidnapping Elliot?

I was watching it on Hallmark a few months ago but they are notorious for showing episodes out of order.

Tonight's returning shows are CSI: LV and The Mentalist, debuting tonight will be "Flash Forward" and if there's a more confusing premise for a new show I'd be surprised ;)

LOADS of new shows started last night, mostly looking crap though. Will be watching Flashfoward tomorrow night :)

Watched Bored To Death last night, reasonably funny in a way that it kept a smile on my face without many LOL moments. Will keep watching this.

FlashForward - 101 - Pilot

Interesting pilot and directing, but I'd liked to see more characters.
The cliffhanger works well. But I doubt we'll get an answer anytime soon.
I also hope that the show is not just
an investigation about the event.
Could be a bit boring.

7+/10

I agree with you tuta. I hope the show progresses with many concepts like in Lost season 1. I hope it is more plot orientated, rather than being episode specific like Fringe.
