The TV Show Thread

I tried The Unit the other week, but after 3 episodes I got the impression that everything was set in the Hollywood hills and they just kept changing their costumes. Im sure I recognised a couple of roads from 24 aswell. :D

Thought it was more of a longterm story instead of a story per episode.

TrueBlood is setting itself up well for the last 2 episodes. :D

Anyone watching DefyinGGravity? Watched ep.5 and not much has happened yet, but still enjoying it because it's so relaxing watching the space(ship) views and sounds. :D

True Blood - 211

TrueBlood is setting itself up well for the last 2 episodes. :D

True but once again, I'm disapointted after the last one .
I have not changed my mind : 2-3 episodes were really amazing, but the main story lost too much time on pointless things. Some parts were streched (if the word is correct) too much, it indicates a big lack of sub-stories.
Tara's story is by far the weakest. Last week she was exorcized, this week she's not anymore. Her story is going backwards, that's stupid.

Eric flies now. Nice magic trick...
I'm still confident that the finale is going to be good, but overall for me this season is good, at most.
I love the cast, so I really like following True Blood, but it frustrating to see that quality became less and less frequent.

5/10

Anyone watching Damages? Someone might have mentioned it on here but I can't remember. Interesting Lawyer serie with Glenn Close (not a fan of her but she does it really well). Just over halfway through the 1st season. It's a bit odd in how its told, you get to see something happen "now" at the beginning and then they flashback to tell the story with flashforwards throughout the season. So its one whole story for the whole season, not per episode. I think season 3 starts the coming tv season.

If you like lawyer series / movies its worthwhile.

I got the first season on BD in April but haven't started watching it yet, heard good things about it.

Of course http://forums.evo-web.co.uk/showthread.php?t=48402&highlight=damages great show :)

Hells Kitchen USA on ITV2. Not sure if it started last week or this week but the preview of what's to come looks insane. At one point he tells a woman she's a 'stupid thick bitch'. I'm guessing she's going to send uncooked chicken out or something.

Bunch of US Shows resume in September, some from tomorrow but haven't checked which yet, useful post I know :)

Here's what I'm waiting for this month:

Sons of Anarchy S2 - starts tonight
The Ultimate Fighter (TUF10) - 16/9
The Big Bang Theory S3 - 21/9
Heroes S4 - 21/9 (Double episode)
The Mentalist S2 - 24/9
Dollhouse S2 - 25/9
Smallville S9 - 25/9
Dexter S3 - 27/9
Lie To Me S2 - 28/9

I never really got into Sons Of Anarchy, watched 2-3 episodes and it didn't seem to hold my attention.

Looking forward to Heroes and Dollhouse.

Interesting that after he's done it he's going to reveal how we can do the same.

It seems the numbers might have already been revealed to us...

My list for the coming season:

Bones - 17-9
Castle - 21-9
Criminal Minds - 23-9
CSI - 24-9
Day One - 2010
Dollhouse - 25-9
FlashForward - 24-9
Fringe - 17-9
Grey's Anatomy - 24-9
Heroes - 21-9

Anyone watch Wire In The Blood? Really liked that but ITV have decided to not continue it after 5 seasons. What a waste, was really nice seeing a more darker murder serie then the flashy US series.

More news on Derren Brown and his lottery numbers
http://www.itwillbeyou.info/

Event 1

This event is on the 9th of September (LIVE)
Derren will predict the lottery number and you will already have played them!
You will buy a lottery ticket using the 5 numbers below and have to guess the last one.
This will assure you get 5 out of 6 numbers on the lottery and reduces
your jackpot winning chance to 1 in 44.

The numbers are in the below image. Good luck. Not that you need it.

lottery numbers

6, 10, 22, 25 & 47

Event 2

Derren Brown will take on Manchester United in a Football game.
At kick-off all of the Man U players will not be able to move
and Derren Brown will have a free run at scoring against Man U.
Hence: http://www.retsehcnamdetinu.com/

Event 3

All the viewers at home will be under the same spell as the Man U team,
however they will not be able to get off their sofa's when instructed to try,
and will probably be eating a Pizza.

Event 4

One audience member will win a large sum of money betting on a live roulette
wheel. They will be betting on either Red or Black and doubling
their bet with the winnings each time.

Nice choices there, almost identical to mine! LOST and Heroes in particular!

Getting 5 numbers on the lottery gets you some money doesn't it?
Of course, you'd get thousands. If you got five lottery numbers and didn't win a penny you'd be a bit pissed off wouldn't you?! It's hard enough to get one!!

I wonder how many people will use those numbers for the draw tonight and throw away a quid. I think that's what the idea is, seeing as if you Google "Derren Brown lottery" one of the first things that comes up is an interview where he talks about lottery scams.

Perhaps he's thinking the power of the internet will get people to spend a lot of money on it and that's the point he'll make, because it's impossible to predict the lottery numbers. Either that or he'll have seen the lottery recorded five minutes earlier if it's not "live" live, and make the point that we'll believe anything we want to believe.

Oh God...

If the numbers do come up then thousands of others will have put the same numbers on and you'll only get a couple of quid anyway.

At least I'll have made a profit on the £1 I put on though

Or maybe everyone is thinking the same as you two and wont bother putting the numbers on "because everyone else will" .... ;)

Come on then, let's work out how he did it.

YouTube - Derren Brown PREDICTS 2 11 2 28 5 9 LOTTERY NUMBERS !!!!!

First off he says he can't show the numbers before the draw for legal reasons. If you're predicting numbers then what the hell does it matter? Bullshit.

His exact words are "we've had a meeting with Camelot, one of the things that came out from that meeting with Camelot is the fact that the BBC have a legal right to announce the lottery numbers first" - so breaking that down, is that all he was doing? Announcing the winning lottery numbers?

But he said several times that it was a live ("to the second") feed from the BBC and his feed was live as well. The balls don't move and he goes and picks up the stand they're on, it doesn't look superimposed or anything.

Secondly, two things that might help figure it out... He doesn't predict the bonus ball - why? And there are only two cameramen. Could that help him out in some way?

I really want to figure this out or I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.

Some quotes from YouTube:

Notice the reason he is in a studio and in front of a wall is that there can be no change in the background. Why is there not a clock on the wall? Why not an audience? Why doesn't he have the numbers written in an envelope like so many other predictions?
