The 'Things That Are Great' Thread

Reminded me of this @1.21 :D

@Buzzy Used to love that. What you havin' for tea Dave?
One of the only shows on TV that resonated with me as a teenager, to the point of it feeling like a word-for-word recreation of my childhood sometimes.

Jim is absolutely identical to my dad in every way - the accent, the sayings ("my arse", "bloody hell", "I can't even have a shit in peace in this house"), the mannerisms (winking when he's about to wind someone up), the bone-idleness, how tight he is with money... It's uncanny.

(I have a sister like Denise too, who seems barely awake most of the time.)

Funnily enough, my dad met Ricky Tomlinson a few times too and they got on like a house on fire. Whenever I think about Ricky, I think about when he was on Talksport and was enjoying the conversation so much, he totally forgot to promote the thing he was being paid to promote...

Is n't he, the guy that plays Mike Bassett in Mike Bassett: England Manager? Awesome actor, awesome guy! :)

Two of my favourite scenes are, when they rip the piss out of Anthony over his band "EXIT..EXIT!"

Then at Anthony's birthday, when Joe is singing and finishes setting a sad reflective mood. Then Darren drops out "i can still smell dog shit in here"

Also another that springs to mind is when Dave took is van to the shops...you know the rest. (are you having that Dave) :LMAO:

@Chris Davies Thanks for the insight Chris about your dad, i bet it would have been great TV as well :)) What about your sister? like Denise was she bone idle as well, and was she like "Mam, tell Chris" :))
And if you were like Anthony, i feel for you mate. I can hear "Chris, about time we had a brew, we're bloody parched here!..Dead bloody lazy!"

I was a baseball player for 22 years and I still play in adult summer leagues man do I love me some Dubble Bubble. Great on and off the diamond. Been chewing it since I was a kid. I'm 38 now. Once I peel that wax paper and stuff 4-6 pieces in my mouth it's pure bliss.
