The Retro-PES Corner

Hi all, I posted here but maybe I'll have more luck here.
Does anyone have the mapping for the preset faces of PS2/PSP 2014 ?
Ex. Skin 1 / Face 1 = Player À , ...

Is there a tool i could use to globally up a specific stat for every player?

I would like to up the teamwork stat by 10/15 for every player in the WE8LE option file on PCSX2.

Hi,

I was watching a Retro Football PES 2014 PS2 on YouTube and saw this comment and especially the reply :

Does anyone know if it can be enabled with an "action replay" / pnach code ?

I remember @robimex2002 found it for the ps2 later it was ported, I think in YouTube there's a video for it, the only downside is that for kit combinations the palette must match otherwise you'll get wrong colors, also this code is not part of the static memory is dynamic so making a pnach code could potentially break other game instructions and I'm not sure if it will work with default kits

The only shame is that on a graphical level with the Wide camera the turf has a low lod which makes it look really bad....on an AI CPU level no one beats it

Yes, but you have to keep in mind that the PC version is still broken (PES6 version in fact is even more broken), the game was made for the PS2, just like GTA SA if you look some videos there are people porting shaders from PS2 to PC, and the PC version has some issues with gameplay stability due to the engine expecting an specific hardware, the XBOX Classic version probably don't have this issue as it's always the same hardware, perks of old games :) also remember anyone can play in the platform they prefer, another example of this is Ratchet and Clank or Jak and Daxter PS2 ports to PS3 are so unstable that it's better to just turn on the PS2 and play at 480p

these are metropolitan legends that I'm hearding from 23 years by console possessors... I playied both version since that time with only emulators (ps1 an ps2 games) on goods gaming pc for the time era of ps2 games, and good optimized by me for gaming.. and there aren't any broken or unstable gameplay version for pc... the game are the same mate and PC haven't any broken gameplay respect the ps2 version.... at the time many pc users don't know how optimize their pc for gaming... windows processes and their priorityies second the hardware adopted was the problem not the pc PES games

Sorry but in this case you're quite wrong my friend, the PC ports even tho they have hardcoded some values to try to replicate the PS2 values they're not the same, frequency of the CPU, a lot of tricks were used on PS2 to get interesting physics in the game, even if you look at the decompiled code from pc there are "emulated" ways they try to do this, the speed it's not the same, game ticks are a thing that really depends on hardware
have a look here

if you ever dig on old game dev you'll notice that same pattern of making mechanics depending on the hardware, it was very popular back then, and i do not see why pes should be the exception

PS. Also you'll really notice this when playing the same game on the consoles, emulators are not the same will never be sadly, and again pes6 pc port it's really broken, once you play the ps2 version it feels really different ;)

today PS2 emulators are better than an old ps2 hardware... they work great with ps2 games
nah, sorry, get a console and play a few hours you'll seriously notice the difference. pcsx2 still gets update due to some specific contrains of the CPU and GPU of the console, XBOX Classic emulator also its very unstable right now, again, emulators will not be better, I used to think the same, but once you really play it on the console the game feels way better

I played it at the house of an ex-girlfriend of mine at the time, who's brother had it... and I've always preferred emulators on my PCs to playing it on the PlayStation2... already at the time the whole graphics section could have been improved with a good PC of the time and the gameplay was the same... regarding PC version as I said I agree that at the time Konami made a port for PC , as you explained, but then it depends on how you optimized that hardware and what hardware you had as you specified... and on pc that is still important also for emulators... And one thing that must never be missing from a PC used for gaming and emulation is process lasso... and a good optimization of your graphic card filters...use them to maximum to avoid the ps2 games era use too much cpu like they usually made nativelly, so then you can pass more work to your GPU

He wasn't asking about the PC version, he was asking about the PS2 version.
no in the image I posted the dude talked about xbox version of pes5 ported inside xbox360 with emulator, and he talked he never seen an other football game that make the same with kits... that's was the reason of my little joke ;) Mine wasn't a direct joke to juventino32 request but to the dude witch Juventino32 quoted in that image ;)

Seen a clip of a match in PES6 using DLSS5. My god, it looked awful 🤣🤣 Good for your screenshots etc. For actually playing the game, absolutely terrible

I think graphically actually that technology can give its best only just on replay and players faces and for sure not on ps2 era games models...
Anyway DLLS5 its a vampire of resource if you want play at same resolution of you play normally a modern game... you should set any game you want to test to half of resolution of your monitor and enable inside your nvidia control panel the relative percentage to upscaling for your monitor resolution.. DLSS for nvidia as like FSR fidelity for amd, are, before each other features, two "upscaling tecnologies"

NOTE: fake preview face for clicks of that video (not PS2 era game)

I've that for PES and WE 2008 on PS2.

PES 2008 :

WE 2008 :

Just pick the "zero" edition.

NB : sometime ago we discussed about my PES 5 OF and it's now ready in case you still need it.
Man, you're a lifesaver. This is the second time you've saved me from hours of research. Between work and having a kid, I don't have that much time—I just want to have a little fun during my free time.
I also downloaded the Option Files for PES 5 and PES 6; congrats on the amazing work and thanks a lot.
