Hi ! , so after my comment about the we 2013 j league dlc , I played only exhibition j league matches and now starts my first master league journey with avispa fukouka, I don't think I'll capture video of matches again because it's my first time and I'm not sure if you going to like it 😅
But it's complete highlights of our first month (3 matches) , we scored some beautiful goals , I consider this video to be continuous to my first comment about we2013 j league , I've covered also player faces , highlights goals , tactical subs.. this was played on professional, 3 level pass support .
This was recorded by my mobile 😅 and it's also RGB composite I think not HDMI which is better in my experience!
Here it is ! Enjoy !
Yes I have the yellow white red composite which comes usually with the ps3 , I set the tv to av , tried widescreen but it seems less detailed unlike 4:3 which is different from hdmi, but that's the best screen i can have on my tv with some settings of smoothing until I buy another hd cable
@christ88 Wow, pretty cool pics, it remind me good ol'days, we did one big tournament from PES 1 to 6 like that : always been fun even if we were all in "competitive mode" with controller flying without wings lol
Otherwise guys, i'm currently trying to do some PS3 editing for those who got a Jailbroken Ps3. It's to share some version to have some kind of "PES encyclopedia", by taking ol'option file from that console and rectify them, even if, i know, there's PC version you can play in 4K, but it looks to me at least, more natural to play it in a lower resolution, with less super PS5 graphisms. It's kinda hybrid when you look at general movement in comparison closer to PS2 than PS4.
Another reason is that Windows 10 and 11 causes me some issues to run few version : games launch when i install them then as they're pretty old, they're recognized as a virus one or two weeks ago , it's problematic (probably some files format unrecognized i suppose).
Well, that's not my question : it's about Hex editing. i'll spoil the details as long post are often scrolled down
-In Pes 2008 to 2013, there's a lot of real presets face/hair hidden in the database.
On PES 2009 all Germany for example got preset face/hair "hidden" in the database, a bit like on PS2 : you can't choose them like "Special Hairstyle 2". But i'm good with tools like "Face Hair assigner tool from the @marqisspes6 team PES5 indie, i recreated the .yaml files from the games i wanted to edit.
-I checked on both HEX files for exactly same players : i decrypted the PS3 files and compared with the, supposely, non-encrypted (as default on patch) EDIT.BIN, but the PS3 Hex langage seems different than on PC : my goal was to copy those HEX players from PC or just change the values regarding what i can't edit IG, so face/hairstyle.
I only need to change some bytes here and there and one game could be almost done in 30 minutes, it's not really big editing : it's restoring i'm doing it.
Here's my question :
Does the data saves got a different HEX langage from PS3 to PC, even decrypted? Because i'm not sure that the PC version what i will show you is really decrypted.
Here's an example of two players from one > a PS3 player save decrypted with the tool APOLLO and second, a file i opened without changing anything but from PC :
Pc hex :
Ps3 hex (decrypted with Apollo or Save Resigner > same result)
Characters are totally differents, which one is the good and how can i get a similar result?
As there's no "PS3 Editor" for decrypted save for all version (found a converter for the 2013 only), i wonder how i could just make change and replace the bytes corresponding to appearance.
Important : i opened the EDIT.bin from PC without any decrypter, as it looked already decrypted.
I may imagine that the PC version isn't decrypted, and i check a tool for it but in 2025.... It's pretty hard.
Thanks in advance for any tips or answer you could give me, anything.
I will try it for sure.
I will create also some PS3 micro patch iso replacing the Emblems as they're limited. And they appears in slowdown in PES 2014 as they appears 15 seconds too late, better to navigate on menus
Another thing : i would have loved to get all kits for Pes 2008 but i'm checking how to make recognize the imported pictures as if they were took with Eyetoy camera. Perhaps if i modify an Eyetoy picture and assign another image. It's the only PS3 PES i got without any sponsporship and brand.
With the recoil, no rose teinted glasses, i see that version as a prologue to PS2 version same as 2009 and 2010, with perhaps less accurate models for the game (to slim probably) but same gameplay
@SiuMing ing : i've made my own test to verify about what your statement regarding the 8-16 directions transition and you're right for one version :
PES 2010 (they practically erased them except for the R1+R2 pushing ball runs) but the 2008 and 2009 got the same mechanics as on PS2.
With a bigger pitch, which make the ball flowing faster.

The difference is because of the endianness used are different on PC and PS3. PS3 & Xbox 360 are PowerPC-based and the endianess is "big endian", while PC uses "little endian"
To convert them, a program/script is needed but AFAIK no one has done this for PES before.

as SiuMing as pointed out, the issue is the endianess pc is little endian while ps3 because of their powerpc processor (if im not wrong) uses big endian, which basically translate to, if 1 in hex little endian is 01 00 00 00 in big endian is 00 00 00 01, im not 100% sure but if we take as sample the bytes at offset 0x3e on pc you have d1 02 00 00 while on ps3 you have 00 00 02 d1, but bear in mind that this might not be the case for all, the next 4 bytes dont need any swapping and then you have the following 4 which dont match at all, probably there's some change between the pc and ps3 version, maybe different data pack? the best you can try is going by each 4 bytes and determinate which values does really change and which dont, and try with the default game data, if you manage to determinate which 4 bytes needs swapping wont be hard to make a tool
ps. congratulations on your learning on hex stuff, i remember some years ago you were quite negated on that
EDIT: AFAIK pc versions of 2008-2013 games doesnt need any encryption
Hi people!
Need help, so after trying many retro PES games the one that feels the best for me is J.league winning eleven 2008 PS2.
So I got this patched version from mr. Billykong which is great, and also the one from mr. Edson Ferreira from youtube.
What I like is that at default camera this two versions are different, Billykong version is zoomed out while Edson version is probably standard, I think he only translated the game (and put cheats for maximum points in ML, we-shop and stuff like that).
Problem is that version from Edson crashes at specific situation, when I go with two or more strikers at goalkeeper, then just when keeper dives at player with the ball, I make pass to another striker and shoot on empty goal, that is the moment when game crashes.
So I would like to know does anyone have this game barebones, without any patches, just translated to english?
I like and want to play both versions translated, mr. Billykong`s patched one, and barebones translated with standard default camera?
Mr. Edson`s version unfortunately has this game breaking bug.
Thank you all in advance!
Thanks for your answers guys, i know that Xbox 360 is kinda PC compatible regarding saves (even if it was quite hard to pass through their nets for security regarding image and all stuffs importing) @marqisspes6 yes i wasn't supposed to post here but now that i understand better Hex, well the system, i wanted to talk about it as i found it fascinating.
That's perhaps because i always loved to learn some language even if here it's not that much comparable lol.
Now i understand better the "why" and i know what to do / same as you mentionned : comparing : i even found a PES 2009 option file with some faces probably, surely found with HEX editing. Now i need to check the change on bytes regarding facial and hair parameters by comparing the same player with only one thing modded
I already know every hidden players to check, it will be difficult for PES 2008 and 2009 (+ bundesliga and teams created, there's a lot of fakes players with their faces and hair on the database : i know how to found them and i took note about their offsets)
Well it wasn't a project at all at first but replaying those old games, especially PES 2011 and the very fun even if it's pretty fast PES 2009, both on PS3. I love to check, learn correct stuffs that no one have done before (probably because they didn't carried about PS3 version, but i do personnaly even if i won't lost my time too much on it..... I edited so much on PS2 versions, 5 and 2008 especially and manually on PS4-5 on 2021.
Now i replay those games since we talked about them and i found many great things and big fun to play them. 2008-2009, but also 2011 and 2012 : before i wanted absolutely a new engine like Fifa did, but now i see those game, like if they're practically new, i played Fifa on that era and i can see all the details you can add to players, the stats influences etc. etc. and it provide me new sensations
Even the 2013 that i hated : i can defend with ease just for one very dumb thing : i'm playing with a "Pitch cam" closer to the ground lol.
Still, i needed a break an set aside my project a bit and take a fresh air, and i'm pretty surprised about some games quality from that era : i don't even see the "clunky" movements or weird looking position while running, and playing with assistance or not is very different. I always said that comparing the 3 PES era wasn't relevant, now i'm even more convinced about it.
And what i learned will help me in the future, i want too make a missile PS2 patch for Pes 5 and JL2008 (regarding database at least) and for Pes 2021 for those like me who prefers to play on console with the vanilla version. Talking about gameplay mod, i will talk about it in another post : it's exactly like i imagined > many mods makes the game worst as the latest Konami patches or even the vanilla game. Some small retouch and it may kill the feeling litterally.
PES 2017 with PES6 speed/agility/inertia is totally the opposite of what i'm searching for.
I always wondered why are PES 2010 player ratings so low
Like most fullbacks, GKs and strikers have really low rating, and the whole rating system is really inconsistent
I would like to know how to make ratings in that game as close to the player ratings in like 2011 or 2013 editions, where there is a significant difference
Hi all. Just to say I’m in love with WE2008 PS2. Over the last few months, playing mostly with friends but with a few solo plays, I’ve been moving from WE9LE to WE2008. There is so much variety, in both single and multi player, it really is the complete or “lost” version. It is slower than PES2008, albeit only a little, but it makes for a more curated game. You have to think a little more to break down a defence or sit back to hold off the opponent’s attack. I’ve just lost my latest game 0-1, I’m Barcelona against SBV Excelsior, and I’ve lost against the run of play to a lob. Usually I’d feel cheated but the goal was pure bliss, and I was only too happy to think “fair play” the CPU had sat back, defended well and hit me on the break. On a weekend where some would have forked £100+ for the latest FIFA / EA ultimate whatever, I’m in football gaming nirvana! Thank you @geeeeee for raising PES2008’s profile and @Juventino32 for specifically WE2008’s! Absolutely humbled 🙏
Hi ! , so after my comment about the we 2013 j league dlc , I played only exhibition j league matches and now starts my first master league journey with avispa fukouka, I don't think I'll capture video of matches again because it's my first time and I'm not sure if you going to like it 😅

PES2010 was released on 2009... WE2010 Aoki Samurai no Chousen is an evolution of that... it was released on may 2010... so it should have a little better game-play... but the video isn't mine.
On PC, Running on tracks with false 360° directions could entertain me at that time, when pes anyway turned out better than the various fifa of the time anyway because of its gameplay... but now i prefer the gameplays of the old konami titles only if adapted to the modern and better fox engine of pes2021 with my Retro-PES portings...
I think the last pes update for 2013 was 6.00 and this version I have is 6.20 ,never dived deep into edit because I was busy but I'll update you if there's any difference.
Never tried we 2010 aoki on ps3 , guess I'll try it !
I checked your beautiful work and I think Konami should hire people from this community like you who are devoted for this game and create a new game with ps2 gameplay , ps3 mechanics and techniques (till 2013) , and PS4 graphics ! , also include master league , league , cup mode and edit mode please haha
It's just a mobile game now and we are all playing the older titles , but for me I think I'll stuck with the older titles as a separate fantasy worlds or games as I originally don't follow or like football as a sport so it's not an issue for me and not play it as continuous titles .
"Efootball" is not pes or winning eleven I've tried efootball 2026 on mobile and it's just crap and waste of time , couldn't even complete a single match and uninstalled it , I'm a offline player.. I want simple game and a nice treat to my eyes and nervous system and even if they provided offline modes I'll not play it because it doesn't have a soul .

if you are a pc user I ported also new efootball 2026 PC v5.0.0 parameters gameplay on Fox engine and PES2021 and it's a amazing gameplay... nothing to do with PC version of efootball on that insane unreal 5 engine made for online mobile platform...
I suspect Konami keeps developing and testing on his pes2021's exe the new gameplays for efooball but then when he transfers them to that castrated mobile engine for online playing, everything is ruined accordingly
you need to install PS3 firmware inside it... then when you download the right game ISO image (hope is the right iso), mount it on your virtual windows drive.. then open it and copy its content inside a new folder named as the title of the game you want add into emulator... then add that folder into emulator with add game...
but not all games and isos are compatible... you have to look at which game is compatible and hope that the iso you download is suitable for the emulator
Has anyone else had trouble with PES 2013 replays? They're playing at 30fps, while everything else plays at 60fps. I disabled and enabled VSYNC, both in game's settings and in NVIDIA Control Panel. Nothing helped.
Have some of you played extensively PES 2014 on PS2 ?
How do you feel it defers (in bad and good ways) compared to PES/WE 2008 PS2 ? @geeeeee or @NeoRetro maybe ?

The same crash happens with me ! I play it on ps3hen , jlwe2009 works perfectly, 2010 crash before intro , 2008 the same crash and I even can't enter exhibition matches it crashes
Maybe there's a fix or a better version ?
I wanted to play 2010 but idk why the game crash or freeze before intro
Looks like it needs config files
I was reading alot this thread backwards, and there is one link for J.league 2008 that still did not crash for me, althought I just tested it a little bit.
Mr. Vialli posted link on page 412!
May 22, 2014, (8 months after the release of PES/WE2014) Konami released for PS3 and PSP also Winning Eleven 2014 Aoki Samurai no Chousen for the Japanese market only.

I finished season 1 of ML playing one of the worst teams in J.LEAGUE 2, ending the season in 6th place out of 15. It's a pleasant struggle because I don't feel like I'm being cheated by the AI. Buying a Brazilian defender who dominates with his height was crucial to get out of from the bottom 5 (and 3 different formation variants lol).
Halfway through the season, I came up with the idea of recording the different goals I scored and conceded (but i only managed to record a few to be fair lol), mainly from average to nice ones.
Below is a mini montage, the goal ratio between me and the AI is around 50%, I encourage everyone to try this version

Are you playing on the PS3? I'd like to be able to play it on RPCS3. The vanilla game is all glitched, so I don't think it would be that easy to play... Also, does it have a Be a Legend Mode? I can't imagine how immersive it would be to start in J2 League and go to the top with a japanese team and internationally as well.
