The Retro-PES Corner

I've researched it for PES 6, JL 2007, PES 2008, WE 2008 and JL 2008. WE 2008 was weird, with a cut off for clubs and a different one for NT.
Let me a couple of days to find it back in one of my HDD and I'll post them.

I am editing PES 5 right now and I have been testing it. I subtract the date of birth by 2005. Konami did a terrible job.

Carlton Cole born on October 12, 1983 is 21. He lost a year.

Nemanja Vidic born on October 21, 1981 is 24. He did NOT lose a year.

Michel Salgado born on October 22, 1975 is 30. He did NOT lose a year.

Jimmy Bullard born on October 23, 1978 is 26. Lost a year

Wayne Rooney born on October 24, 1985 is 19. Lost a year.

Robert Pires born on October 29, 1973 is 32. He did NOT lose a year.

Repeat. Konami did a terrible job.

It seems that the db manager for the game doesn't take in consideration the year of birth.. but the player's age when they close the db before the release, Ronney 20th birthday was after they finished working on the db.
if you compare players' age between PES6 and WE JL 2007, players have the same age.. others have +1 year

Wayne Rooney born on October 24, 1985 is 19. Lost a year.

@NeoRetro , this is WE 2008 that I find easier than PES 2008, not JL 2008 (which I have not played enough). To me, WE 2008 (6th difficulty, the max) is easier than PES 2008 (5th, max one). But it can really be a very personal opinion.

You make good to mention about birthday's date as i completely forgot that one got some issue with it.
Now for JL version, if i remember it's age before something like the end of transfers, 25 june i don't remember that well as i never modded or created teams on those already updated Winter rosters. But i will take a look as i want to change perhaps 3-4 clubs.

@TheDude about the birthday changes, it's not the good calculation for PS2 version, you need to check if the player is born before or after the 1st september. Now that you mention it, i will check it closely.
I've editing every players and didn't saw that much errors to be honest, with that logic i mean

Edit: but others errors in PES 5, yes that's probably the one with the most data errors on it, well PES 3 was also atrocious regarding stats for new players, probably created by europeans guys who got no idea about how to create a player in PES with logic, in comparison to WE7
:ANX:
PS3 versions i didn't edited those ones, not interesting as it was my second FG when Fifa bored me.... Except PES 2011, i don't know what's the "+1 years old for all players" dates.

(Edit 2 : About Jlwe2008) I would have loved to recreate Bundes over Eredivisie but i got no idea when i will found time and energy to do it. Now i got the way to get almost realistic market values so it's tempting, but just replacing the less important Swedish teams as they are a bit too many...
The reason for all those clubs was related to the Sweden federation, honored by PES team adding the (pretty small) club where Henrik Larsson was playing, got them access to new contract. Well i would keep only IFK Göteborg.

Billykong explained to me his project and i'm totally good with it for ML, As i plan to do the Big ML version with tons of clubs in D2 and 20 instead of 14 or 16 in D1.

I dont mind that the players born in September through December are a year younger since they wouldn't have had their birthday yet. I hate that Konami did such a terrible job. I will probably use September 1st as the date for the players that I create. I am not going to change any of the ages because it will mess up the players development.

Is there a chart or list on here for the player development based on age? Because I think for example a 19 year old with a standard development curve ends fast so they have to be standard lasting.

Hi guys, I need help: I'm looking for an old version of DKZ Studio to edit Winning eleven 8 asian championship. In particular I need 0.82 or 0.83 or 0.84.
Could someone please help me?
If it's impossible to retrieve one of that verions, do you think is it possible to use 0.92 version to edit Winning eleven 8 asian championship?

Thanks a lot.

sup , for the people that play pes 3 on pc without lag and stutters may i know what you guys are using , i tried dgvoodo and it kept crashing the game (unless there is some config for it that fixes the issue ) and dx8 wrapper while it fixes speed in the matches it causes slowdowns in stuff like celebrations some replays ect ,i would appreciate if you guys could help and thanks

Hello everyone.i am a very big we10 fan :) I play on pc with pcsx2 on pc.

The best version I have found so far is km 1.2 ( https://evoweb.uk/threads/we10-km-mix-patch-1-2-ultimate-of-winter-2006-by-ogaitnas99.74913/ )

If you think there is a better one, I would like to try if you can share it.

Thank you.

There's a thread about this patch already. I'd urge you to try jackallan's UCL 05-06 patch, using WE10. I'll leave a link to the thread below

Hello, I tried the patch you suggested last night, it was very successful, the room jerseys and faces are very good, but the fan special work of km mix 1.2 puts me in the mood more. Especially from the brazilian and dutch tribunes, great sounds come from.Km mix 1.2, do you know if there is another version?

I don't, but I see a lot of Bomba patches use WE10

Just remembered the cheat code in ISS Deluxe (SNES) to replace the referee by a dog.
The code had to be input with the 2nd gamepad.

Happy Christmas! Here is a gift for all of you. :)

J.League Winning Eleven 2008 Club Championship - originally released as a Sony PlayStation 2 exclusive in Japan on 21st August 2008. This particular title marks the end of the primary focus of the PS2 as the main console release for the Winning Eleven and Pro Evolution Soccer series as the games had now fully moved on to the next generation platforms at the time - PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Whilst PES and Winning Eleven titles were still made yearly up until 2014 for the PS2 the quality sadly dropped off as the main development teams focus shifted to the newer more powerful consoles.

Alongside PES 2008/WE 2008 which was released earlier that year, JLWE2008CC is considered one of the finest releases in the critically acclaimed series mainly due to its improvements to the AI systems for both offense and defence. Taking the more action orientated approach seen in PES 6 but further fine tuning it by improving the games tempo, ball physics, fouls and AI as mentioned, these particular games offer some of the highest level of replayability and longevity. JLWE2008CC also offers the bonus of 6 star difficulty not see in the international PES 2008 release as well as slightly updated rosters.

I have fully translated all the text strings within the game using an earlier translation patch by the great Fernando (v1.5). As I said with the previous translation for J.League 2007, this was done with the use of computational translation software - mainly deepl.com and Google Translate so expect some errors here and there. There may be some sentences that do not make grammatical or contextual sense, and in some instances text may appear outside of their respective boxes due to word count and text size not being fully observed due to translating from Japanese to English, but for the most part you will be able to understand and read the text fine.

I also received some help from option file creator Adrian Ferrari who has made all the unlicensed kits for the Premier League, La Liga and others which is included in the zip file of this release along with a widescreen patch for use with a PS2 emulator such as PCSX2.

Patch Details:

  • Fully translated from Japanese to English - all menus, modes, club names and players. Huge thanks to @Hawke who helped convert the main menu texture for me!
  • High LOD fix applied via hex edit to the SLPM file.
  • New wider camera applied via hex edit to the SLPM file. All cameras now offer a more zoomed out image slightly similar to PC patches.
  • Included default LOD and camera SLPM file for original PS2 hardware. Simply import and copy over SLPM file in GGS.
  • New blue power bar.
  • Removed ball cursor.
  • New selection of footballs.
  • New positional plate texture.
  • New adboards.
  • New menu sounds.
  • New entrance music.
  • New font.
  • New Adidas boot pack - more of a hackjob due to Konami's limitations post PES 6 but better than nothing!
  • New licensed referee kits.
  • New licensed goalkeeper gloves applied to all teams.
  • Competition and League logos.
  • Banners for all J.League and some Serie A teams.

I would like to thank @fernando for his translation that was used as a base, @marqisspes6 for his tools, help and support, @vialli82 @geeeeee @Lucian0 for reminding everyone how great PES 2008 and JLWE2008CC were and @Hawke for his help with the main menu.

Please download the latest nightly build of PCSX2 from here:

https://pcsx2.net/downloads/#nightly-anchor - Select the QT AVX2 release for Windows 10/11.

Ensure you apply the included Widescreen Patch to the appropriate folder in PCSX2 (I believe its cheats_ws and ensure 16:9 aspect ratio as well as cheats and widescreen patches are enabled in the emulator settings). You will know the widescreen patch has been applied properly as you will see a popup in the top left corner saying 'widescreen patches enabled'. Without this you will end up playing the game in stretched 16:9 and this causes the game to play at a higher speed than normal. Also ensure Optimal Frame Pacing is turned on to reduce any input latency.

To import save file data and option files to your virtual PCSX2 memory card please download MyMc from here:

Hi Billykong,

Thanks for this patch.

Just a question:
Here, you recently said that you're focusing on this JLWE2008CC patch after almost 2 years of last update
https://evoweb.uk/threads/pes2008-p...-game-video-thread.77796/page-27#post-4135933

Can you tell me what's in the focus, as I find this patch basically perfect with not much to add or do?
Will there be a separate thread just for this patch?

Hi! Yes there will be a separate thread. It will be quite a big update. I can’t go into detail as to what will be in it as we are still finalising the details but you probably won’t need to use an option file any longer alongside the game. 🙂
