The PC Building Thread

You would have to put the machine together yourself.
There aren't many sites who put them together for you and most places charge quite a premium for this.

But you shouldn't be too worried about building your own machine it is very straight forward and evrything can only go in one place, it is very much like lego.

I am sure there are videos on youtube and guides to help you build a machine online.

Where bouts in the country you from?

I wouldn't recommend that machine at all.
It is best to stay as far away from AMD as possible and the graphics card is shite.

Seconded.

Stick with Intel (+ the graphics card is old and low-end. It's well short of what you can achieve within your budget).

asked a bloke here in IT - he loves doing it so said he would help me.

Take up this offer. He can probably build the thing within a couple of hours. Self build is the way to go - it's cheaper and you'll end up with a more capable machine.

Decided to hook two monitors up to this bad boy.

Any recommendations for a good cheap monitor that I can buy two of?

I'm thinking 17" widescreen will be fine.

How much would I be looking at for a PC tower just to hook up to my 50" plasma to play PES 2013 at 1080p?

Prob going abit high on the case, unless you really like the case £50 is abit excessive.
You won't be able to power your PC with a 430W power supply so you will def have to swap that out.
I wouldn't recommend an i3 to anyone wanting a "GAMING" PC.
Apart from that everything seems ok, I would still swap the 6870 for a 5870 from ebay and drop the case down abit that would give you enough money to get a better power supply.

I would just get the machine I recommended Kevano with the changes I suggested to get it to £500.

I am also seriously tempted to buy a gaming PC. I am not technical enough to be able to build one myself. Is it possible to buy a PC (with decent monitor) for around £600 which would run PES13/FIFA 13.

Thanks.

So swap an I3 to I5 anc change case.
What power pack would you recomend?
thanks for your help?

£500-£600, as with everything once you start playing one game on PC, you will start playing everything on PC.
Thanks. Hmm, well I only play PES, Football Manager and Call of Duty anyway. Guess I'll just stick to PES on Xbox for now.

I take it you can buy one at a later date?
thanks

Yep. It's very quick and easy to fit one to your system. You can then do a fresh install of Windows to the SSD at a later date (people mainly use them as a boot drive so that the PC starts very quickly).

SSD's are getting cheaper all the time. You can pick up a 60/64gb model for around £50.

It will be one of the most noticeable upgrades you make but completely non-essential if you are on a budget.
