I agree there are aspects of FIFA that aren't right for sure, and I began just treating it now as a videogame for fun with some nice graphics and authenticity, but hey, it's working because the career mode is so immersive this year. If they've got that right, and games against specific CPU teams feel really realistic in terms of the CPU I'm playing against then I'm happy enough.

I really want PES to get it right because I don't have any loyalty to either series, I'd rather both games were amazing as I love football, but to me there are so many aspects to PES2012 that are screwed in terms of representing the way matches at the top level actually pan out. People say how FIFA is repetetive, and in previous years it was, but this year it feels like both game's have almost swapped identities - FIFA12 is varied, you can take a thrashing away at Man City but then you could catch them on an off day too, whereas in PES2012 every team plays the same way, triple presses with deep defenders with limitless stamina, and spams the same goals at you over and over. It's really boring especially in FL. Every match is a war of attrition against 11 man defences and football just isn't like that.

Really can't agree on people's comparisons with FIFA12. For me, someone who's always argued that PES is the more realistic, for once I'm going with game reviews and saying I think that FIFA12 is the most realistic game ever. There, shoot me down!

There are tons of things that need refining like ball control etc, but if you get the sliders right it immediately becomes far more realistic. The games ebb and flow at a realistic pace, the CPU has equal if not more possession of the ball, and there is a limitless variety of goals to score. Conversely, while PES gets certain tecnical aspects right such as ball control (well, in PES2011 anyways), the way the CPU teams set themselves out is utterly unrealistic and shatters any idea of being sim-like. Packing the first third of the field with all eleven men then leaving a massive, gaping gap in the midfield, then spamming through passes and repetitive ways of scoring are abysmal ways of replicating the way football teams play.

I think similarly on that topic: I hate how Fifa 12 feels when I play it, it just doesn't feel right, it doesn't have that sort of football-feeling I get when I play football in real-life.

There is a sort of detachment I don't like, players move all way too similar, the players skate too much on the pitch, when the ball gets passed around, the players all have perfect ball-control-abilities when receiving the ball, momentum/inertia plays only a small role... It all feels too comforty, missing danger and dynamic.

Unfortunately no slider-setting changes these things for the better.

All these things are better in PES, at least in PES 5 and PES 2011, and to a smaller extent in PES 2012.

But everything else beside these things are way better in fifa 12 than in PES 2012 and that is thanks to a good engine, allowing way less rails, better ballphysics, more natural animations...

Would love to see a PES-game with a new engine that rivals or betters EA's one, as well as I would love to see a Fifa-game with lots of individuality, momentum/inertia, realistic ball-control and proper foot-planting.

Manager mode is great but I hope they do more for just playing as yourself like Be a Legend mode. In Fifa it's terrible, I joined Arsenal from Norwich and everyone had gone and replaced them with incredibly average players, really was a killer.

Also, playing at the same stadium kinda makes it more dull as well, if they can implement a PES editing mode so people can make stadiums then that would be fantastic.

Isn't PES Champions League licensing over? If so, I expect Fifa will get that and that will be another win for Fifa and another loss for PES.

How funny times changed. FIFA on PSX and PS2 and PC was rubbish. Worst engine ever, no changes year in year out. Graphically pathetic, on rails, no freedom, but it had licenses and tricks. Not to mention that some of old stuff is still in NG games like 100% certain ways to score goals (correct position outside box, aim towards left up corner or right up corner and watch). Check FIFA 10 PC trailer to know what I mean in that ;)

Now NG FIFA is way better than PES. Animations, balls physics, skill moves (ok I could DO without them), licenses (again I could do without obscure licenses for leagues NO one ever plays anyway xD).

Of course FIFA 11 on PC was a milestone. The game which was as close to PES 6 as possible. Superbly crafted game. FIFA 12? For me, it's step back. Worse animations, worse ball phyisics, player impact engine is bloody awful in detecting collisions and we have refs who, even after clean ball tackle, give away penalty/freekick... Because of P.I.E. bad interpretation of situation...

AI? Are you serious?! AI in FIFA 11 was MILES better than on FIFA 12. ON PC. I couldn't stand rubbish AI in FIFA 12 so much I sold game after 5 days. AI is terrible in your team at least. Players make no runs (without tweaking sliders, default settings), you have to do L1 + pass all the time to make them trigger run. Zzzz. Action goes to waste.

Did I mention AI in your defenders is retarded? Funnily enough AI in CPU team is amazing. Ping pong passing (over 90+% passing accuracy... Even with shit team), intercepting passes, scoring freekicks... Oh and unbreakable defense, which rarely makes mistakes. With added super Goalkeepers (I must admit I wish we had such GK in PES).

I can say I am enjoying FIFA 11 more than 12. Because it has less errors, AI makes passing mistakes, etc.

Pro Evo 2012 is fun game for me personally. Firepatch + yair25 gameplay patch and it's miles better than what default game offered.

Wish they never changed Manager mode to Football Life though. I can't stand it :(.

However, when I heard that Adam is involved in PES production now... I have doubts whether it's good or not. Adam NEVER listened to community. When he tweeted that GKs are improved I was ecstatic and said "Finally." Got demo, demo#2, final game, and what? No changes. GKs are retards.

Take what Adam says in 70% bullshit 30% truth (he did say game AI offers much creativity and that is true).

Oh well, PES 2013 better be using new core gameplay engine or else, I will have to stick with PES6 with updates ;)

Yeah its getting a little embarrassing to read.

Here is the latest shite from Adam,

'Straight from the off, WENB will be detailing PES 2013 bit by bit. Because we are making the game, you'll see that level of transparency regarding the game throughout the months leading up to launch.'

'I'll say now you'll see PES 2013 shown in the way that I envisage it should be shown. Marketing is what I do for a living, and this PES game will be shown in a way you will all love and appreciate.'
(Adam, december 20/12/11)

Jeez that's embarassing.

Anyway at least the marketing part fully admits that is pretty much what WENB is. That's why there's no point in trusting them, in listening to them or in thinking that just because it's a PES site it has any real decent elements at all apart from the objective news that is sometimes on the home page. It's like taking reviews of Nintendo games from Official Nintendo Magazine, or Playstation games from Official Playstation magazine, seriously. Sure the writers can write but well they're biased as anything and never give you the full story.

I don't really know why people keep talking about WENB anyway. They're pretty inconsequential to me and i'm pretty everybody thinks of 90% of their content as pointless. Then again they're delusion is quite funny to laugh at as the guy i quoted probably intended to achieve. At least they serve a purpose.

Better marketing doesn't make the final game better. He might be able to fool more people into buying the game, but why would we care about that?

FIFA got great ball physics now. I like to play around in the arena, but I can't stand playing matches, doesn't play like football to me.

Can't say I like to play any of the games. PES plays better I think, but it feels like a beta release. Three patches in and the defensive AI still let the attacker run unmarked on early crosses. Every other goal in BAL is scored that way.

I'm not sure what to expect from the games next year. If EA listens to Romagnoli it could turn out good. Don't see why they would though when they haven't done it for several years. If PES fixes ball physics and get back to player individuality and not frantic attacks every time someone gets the ball it might turn out good.

Kind words, though to be honest I won't deserve much of the credit myself. I've posted about plenty of stuff in the GC thread but so have the others. I'd been quiet for months until recently in fact.

Great, so the hype will be excellently presented. Who gives a f*ck?

Because we are making the game :LMAO:. Didn't know he was a programmer.

Agree with all your comments there mate.

Ok Pes 2013 will be shit. Everybody happy?

Well if Adam and WENB are to be believed they've given Seabass and his entire programming team the old heave ho and put a self aggrandising, self publicising, self confessed marketing expert in charge of making the entire game.

So yeah, it probably will be shit.

Adam will love it though.

:P

the guys at wenb suffer from a well known pshychological disorder. i would not believe a word of what they say. some of the stories the A- guy comes up with are pathetic quite frankly. the game needs to stop this non sense marketing. and probably it is about time to change the guy in charge.

i personally would take pes 2011 as a base for pes 2013 and just forget about pes 2012 and its features. And i would look closely at all the nice things we had in pes3-5. Some of those things are very much missed.

are there no mods in here?
Lami? How can it be possible that i come here to discuss about pes 2012, still i have to read complaints about Adam and wenb?

Because Adam is part of Konami now it seems? If he is in some way officially speaking as a Konami employee, obviously people here will talk about it.

I haven't read up on this, but reading the comments here it seems like he is involved with marketing this year.

There are 40 odd pages of in depth discussion about PES 2012 on this thread mate. Knock yourself out.

This thread is entitled "Not Happy with PES 2012" and Adam and his WENB cronies are part of the reason we are not happy with it when you take into account how "involved" they boast they are in the direction the game has taken.

However, I do agree it's probably time to stop banging on about him and his ridiculous forum.

No,i visit wenb too and i can tell you he is just much closer to Konami UK than last year. He is NOT working with Konami JP, he is still an Ubisoft marketing employee.

Adam's influence on Pes 2013 will be something like 10% at maximum, it's Seabass and his team that make the game.
At this stage, even if Murphy is just a "feedback man", he has much more influence on pes development than Adam will ever have. Murphy actually works with the team sometimes during the year, Adam just stays in UK giving Murphy our feedback and receiving preview code (and hyping the game, refusing doubtful or negative user posts on wenb boards)

All that talk about him giving advice about which new engine Konami has to use for Pes 2013 is just nonsense. Konami will use the engine they want, that's what i think.

It's just that this year Wenb will become an official marketing tool, while last years it was an unofficial one.

@pj_puttz I disagree. This topic is the Pes 2012 Official Complaints topic, not the wenb and Adam complaint topic.

If john murphy is really interested in the success of the game, he shoud just check out this thread and ask some 10 people. all the issues are clearly identified in this thread and most of us have been playing the game for 15 years.

WENB are biased and cannot provide healthy feed back.

P.S.
I am so familiar with konami programming that i can always tell in 2 seconds in advance the exact moment the ref is gonna whistle the end of the game....i guess it happen to all of you too!

why don't some senior evo web members do that? Send an email to Murphy asking him to make Evo web as an official feedback source just like Wenb is right now

Of course KONAMI will use engine they want but if Pes 2013 will have the same engine like in Pes 2012 from Ps2 days they lose another half milion customers.

We all know that Adam will have next to no input when it comes to PES 2013 but the fact he keeps trying to tell us the exact opposite is the reason people are on here ridiculing him. He claims to have a lot of influence at Konami therefore he should be prepared to shoulder some of the blame if the game is crap. This is the complaints thread and as he claims to be working closely with Konami I dont really see why he shouldn't be mentioned on this thread.

We've all had our say again and again about PES 2012 and it's problems. To keep going on about it after 40 odd pages would only be repeating ourselves dont you think?

If you have a new topic to raise complaining about PES then please raise it and I'm sure we'll all be happy to discuss it with you. It would be a welcome break from slagging off Adam or talking about FIFA.

Some people here should know john murphy (in person or via twitter).

If they could contact him and tell him about a selected feedback from trustworthy people that played the game for 15 years...i am sure we could provide a lot of positive and pragmatic pieces of advice. we know the game history like the palm of our hands.

The game has been losing 1 million customers each year since pes 2008. Which is exactly the year i which WENB started its non sense unofficial marketing. So that blog actually did not help konami at all. This year konami will lose another million or more...they will hardly make it to 3 millions copies. they sold almost 9 in 2008. I think it is time for a change for them.

Guys are naive? Jon Murphy is not Seabass and Pes team. They don't have concept. They don't know wich way they want to go. Seabasss clearly said that way which FIFA is going he doesn't like. KONAMI don't want make ultra sim game.

If they create new engine with Pes 2013 and main things will be good like passing, shooting, keepers, animations, graphics etc they will not lose another 1 milion customers.
