The Movies Thread

enjoyed food inc. anything similar to recommend? i'm quite a fan of documentaries.

Who Killed the Electric Car? and An Inconvenient Truth are both very enjoyable IMO of course some will find them too mind crushingly liberal but I enjoyed them, watched the Electric car one and Food inc on the same flight somewhere, good movies to watch on a 10" screen that moves around when the person in front of you scratches their nuts every 10 mins ;)

Of course anything by Michael Moore is somewhat enjoyable as well but take it with a severe pinch of salt.

Oh and the steroids docu Bigger, Faster, Stronger is also pretty interesting :)

(500) Days of Summer - 9/10 Great flick, lovely flow and soundtrack, not an ordinary romantic movie.

Zombieland - 7/10 Pure fun most of the time. The build up is amazing.

Caddyshack - 9/10 (Classic) I had to watch again after a long time, Zombieland mentioned it, and I thought hey I remember that movie it was great and yes! It is great.

I don't get why people think it's good tbh. Just feels like another generic teen romance drama but for people in their 20-ties.

The Ugly Truth - 6,5/10
Generic romantic comedy.

Just saw the trailer for "The Fourth Kind", that looks pretty good!! Looks really scary :JAY: :D

Saw it over the weekend:

The fourth kind: 6/10

Some genuinely creepy bits, but all felt a bit forced. Milla is great though. Worth a rent when it comes out on DVD.

I say 5/10. First hour is crap. Then it picks up towards the end.

Could have just showed us the archived footage in 10 mins  that was the only good bit

Blu-Ray - Food Inc. 8/10

Love these kind of film/documentaries and this one is pretty eye opening...

Everyone sort of has an inclination that we are sheltered from what goes on behind closed doors but still makes me angry to think these huge corperations put proffits and greed at the top of the list above basic health and safety of their products...

Inglourious Basterds to watch tonight :)

Edit:  :APPLAUD: Brilliant, it was just superb! I thought it might be a decent film and was wary about the score on IMDB but wow, that certainly lived up to the hype.

9.5/10 for me, one of the best films I've seen. And the last line in the film summed it up.

Zombieland 7.9/10

Good film. I found it pretty funny, the main guy reminded me of Simon Amstell but less bitchy and Bill Murray's cameo was great. Didn't take itself serious, didn't get boring and was a little different from your usual zombie flick so a thumbs up from me.

Completely agree. I went to see this twice at the cinema.

Zombieland 7.9/10

7.9? Are you sure, not a 7.8? :D

2012 - Effects 9.8/10 - Story/Script - 2.3/10

Great effects, but it felt really rushed to get to the effects and then some of the most OTT scenes unfolded. But still a lot of fun if you don't expect much, was really impressed with some of the settings and images created. However overal I think The Day After Tommorow was a better film.

Star Trek 9/10 maybe 10/10

Didn't think i would like it as im not really into these but it was brilliant. I think i'm gonna watch the originals now as well if they are anything like this one
