The Movies Thread

I'm looking forward to seeing the new one.

It came out on Friday here in Thailand, no joke!

The girls in it are fit, as usual of course!

Haha, no I meant the 9/10 score.

Any recent film with Vin Diesel in it can't possible get any higher than 7/10. He hasn't been any good since his Saving Private Ryan/Pitch Black/Riddick days.

he was only good at saving private ryan because he was in it for 5mins:SMUG:

the less we see of him the better it is for us the viewers and himself. his got a new game out called Wheelman by the way :LMAO:

the guys slagging vin diseal are the same guys who think will smith is a great actor, LOl

Bit of a bold statement there, I don't think anyone has said that at all. While we're on the subject, Will Smith is a good actor, yeah. He's no Robert Deniro, granted, but he's been in some very good films. Have you seen Six Degrees of Separation? Will Smith is fantastic in that. The Pursuit of Happiness? Seven Pounds? they were brilliant.

Vin Diesel hasn't been in a decent film in years. I thought he had a promising career after his role in Saving Private Ryan and the iconic Riddick series, but he seems to have sold himself short, The Pacifier anyone? He's fallen into that trap of being only one kind of actor these days. Why do you think he's in two games this year? Because he can't find a director who'll have him in any of the huge blockbusters. He's only in the new Riddick film by default.

pitch black if you watch it now isnt even that good, its cheese. the second one was crap from the beginning, i dont rate him at all as an actor.

IMHO i think those movies all sucked, i honestly dont rate one single will smith film, they all are terrible, i dont understand his popularity TBH. I dont think he is any better/worse then vin

to each his own

The Day the Earth Stood Still Because Everybody Fell Asleep 720P - 2/10

I knew it was crappy but I was mostly looking forward to seeing all the special effects in HD. Shame that they had showed them all in the ad's! What a load of bollocks, even had difficulty staying awake. You wait for more then an hour for the special effects and when they do show them you realise you have seem them all in the 30sec. advert! Honestly, Im not exagerating, the ad's have them in their entirety. I even felt that they might have shown more special effects in the ad's......

Yes Man - 7/10
Jim Carrey fluff

The Hunting Party - 8/10
The opening titles / 5min. make you scared youre about to watch another War Inc. but after that it returns to normal and is an interesting watch.

Marley And Me - 7/10
Romcom....Dogcom. Amusing.

@ Placebo,

Watched epi. 2 of Wallander (the first episode had a mistake in the files name so I ended up selecting the wrong top of the list file) and enjoyed it. However it took some getting used to to everything being swedish but the language. Decent enough BBC Crime series-esque show.

Agreed.

Couple of oldies we watched yesterday:

Smilla's sense of snow - 7.5/10
Unforgiven - 8/10

Please Clint make one last Western, then you'll be the only actor to appear in Westerns spanning 5 decades!
