The Movies Thread

The woman pissed me off though.

She scared the hell out of me.

I've always had a thing of being shit scared by old ladies with weird hair, and spooky expressions. Got to do with a horror series I used to watch when I was young, when I first came across a banshee. Nothing terrifies me more in this world than spooky old women, with long white hair that hides their face

Other than that, you're right, VERY powerful movie. An eye opener for anyone who's venturing into drugs and that sort of stuff. Really shows what the psychology of a drug addict is.

Must make some of my friends watch this.

lol c'mon that film is about as realistic as batman..

anyone who has even dabbled with drugs would laugh at that film...

but saying that I wouldnt encourage anyone to dabble, and if its put you off then cool..

Vantage Point

8/10

Great film, well thought out and put together. A good story too, with plenty of twists and turns!

X-Files 2, Superhero Movie and Vantage Point have all got poor reviews from where I've read and people I've spoken to.

You must be easily pleased with regards to movies, Tim ;))

On a serious note, I really think I am Dags. It's a weird one. I don't care what reviewers say, if I enjoy it, then that's all that matters to me :)). Good to see other people's opinions on films and stuff though. Yeah, when I go to the cinema I don't expect to be blown away every time I go there, I usually know what I'm going to see so know what to expect from it and can judge it from there. I honestly can't remember the last time I went to the cinema and didn't enjoy it.

Time to dump that CW

Just watched Jurassic Park after something like 10 years. Have to say, its AWESOME. Special effects are incredible for its date and are better than most movies these days - such as the recent Star Wars films. The dinosaurs look surprisingly good and theres tension through many parts of the movie. The best part has to be when we first see the dinosaurs, followed by the T-rex introduction scene.

I've been meaning to watch JP for ages but never get round to it. Used to love it when I was young!

I watched Batman Begins on Monday and thought it was excellent and I can't wait to see Dark Knight now.

A few?!

Can you whittle it down to which ones you'd really recommend? I'm fucked if I'm hunting out 50/60 titles!

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

It was ok.
The beginning is very lame and the humour doesn't work like before, but when it comes to action it's way better. Some scenes are very good, some are not, and Maria Bello is not good at comedy (despite being good playing dramas). Also, the guy playing the son is the worst actor I have ever seen !

6+/10
