Lucky you. I'm often bemused by the lack of interest from other clubs when i have a top performer. Pozzi is my leading goal scorer with about 13 goals at the moment (i think he's in the top 3). In real life, his performance this season would have the big clubs being linked with a move. Nobody was interested in the mid-season window, so i will have to see at the end of the season.

That never happens in PES (for me anyway), but to be fair, i'm playing a manager mode with FIFA08 (and enjoying it) and i became champion in the championship with WBA and not a single club was interested in one of my players.

I'm also a Football Manager freak and it barely happens in that game too...
 
Strange, it's happening a lot to me. In two seasons (four transfer windows) I've sold six players.

I wonder if it is because of my club's low popularity? It did peak at C for a short time in the first season, but otherwise it has been D and is still D despite promotion. Perhaps CPU clubs are more likely to bid if your player's popularity exceeds your club's?
 
Have they been your best performing players Nerf (statwise)? Is it that the bigger clubs (rated A or B) AC Milan etc aren't interested in players or teams rated C or D?
I have had offers coming in, in fact i sold Marianini to Lokomotiv Moscow, (i thought he could join fellow countryman Pelizzoli there). Does anyone else notice the wage/payment bug? Look at some players and you'll see their wage is 1 or something silly. Often these clubs offer me no money too, as if the player is out of contract. That's either very cheeky, or a bug...
You could be right gerd. My top players are rated C at the moment, of which there are 4 of them, i think. My club is currently rated D however.
 
Muller and Topmoller were both statistical leaders. Muller had a massive 14 assists, the highest of any player in any league, so Wolfsburg snapped him up. As I said previously, Topmoller was top of the divisional scoring and assists charts this season.

The others were not. I have a feeling, though I'm not sure, that they might all have been Popularity C (compared to my club's popularity of D).

I haven't seen a player with a wage of 1, but I did spot a backup goalkeeper with a wage of 5000.
 
It is certainly a bug though. You'll find threads on odd tranfer market dealings on Pesfan too. I actually got no money for Marianini. I went through with it, to see what would happen. I thik it might be only the first offer which is 0 points. Amazing the amount of bugs in this game, particularly things which worked fine before.

Hmm, so if i top the scoring and assist charts someone might come in with a bid for them. I remember in my FC Vaduz ML, in PES6? Dante Lopez was a goal-scoring phenomenom for me, always topping the charts in both divisions and no club ever wanted to sign him.

I'm considering getting Giovinco and Marchisio (were on loan at Empoli irl last season) back at Juventus at the end of the season. I might try a player swap and then release the players i get. Or sell them to a bigger club.
 
Wow, unlucky Db. Serie B can be a be tough. I hope you can go back up. Do you think you'll be able to hold on to your players then?

VANNUCCHI SEALS ROMA SWITCH
Empoli's captain and playmaker Ighli Vannucchi has been sold to Roma for €7M, after the capital side tabled a bid for the skillful midfielder. Vannucchi was a key player for Empoli and will be tough to replace.

MARCHISIO RETURNS TO THE OLD LADY
Empoli's on-loan midfielder Claudio Marchisio has returned to his parent club, Juventus. Claudio Ranieri has stated the midfielder is required in Turin for the coming season.

VANIGLI RETIRES
Veteran defender Richard Vanigli has announced his retirement from football at the age of 37. Vanigli rarely featured under Professor Nutmeg.

VOLPATO STRIKE SEALS EURO SPOT
Rey Volpato's 88th minute equaliser against Palermo on the penultimate day, sealed sixth place in Serie A for the Tuscan minnows and with it, a European qualifying place next season. The striker came on as a substitute, late in the second half and found the net with only minutes to spare, cancelling out Mark Bresciano's first half header.
 
During negotiations, when you decide to enter negotiations with a player, has anyone had that prompt which says something along the lines of - Your bid may be denied. You press continue and then it says - Bid refused, or something similar. It's the first time i've seen it.

I had a tense match last night. The game was drifting to a 0-0 draw when my huge Czech defender, signed in the summer, bullied his way on to the end of a corner for what I thought was the winning goal. I smugly hauled everyone back into defence for the remaining three minutes... and my opponent promptly waltzed in and smashed home a rebound in the 90th. Worse, another chance to win it fell to Mokhtari in stoppage time only for him to spoon it over the bar. Two valuable points up in smoke :(

in answer to your first question, it's an almost certain no. i will be using nerf's rule that should a better team come in then the offer must be accepted. I actually think this could decimate the squad somewhat but then again collectively they weren't good enough to keep me up :)

I have just started negociations and tried a cheeky bid for Daniel Pranjic which natrually received the contempt it deserved from Heerenveen - and the message you said about appeared.

I shall be cutting my cloth accordingly I think, the one good thing of loosing some of the 'stars' is that the wage bill wall fall dramatically.

I follow that rule too, hence Vannucchi leaving for Roma. I'll miss him, a lot went through him on the pitch, plus he was captain and the free-kick taker.

So you've seen that message too, Db. Strangely, my club rating has gone down to E in the off-season (from D). I'm not sure why, as it happened immediately after the last game.
I tried a cheeky bid for Nakamura, in order to replace the departing Vannucchi, but it was rebuffed straight away (along with a few others). So it looks like i will just have to reshuffle my squad, as there is little time left for negotiations.
My squad will be smaller than last season now and i've got gruelling European qualifiers to contend with, at the beginning of the next season.

Having seen Vannucchi, Marchisio and Giovinco all leave this summer, Empoli have seen their attacking creativity significantly reduced. However, the Azzurri have swooped to make their only signing in the off-season. San Lorenzo midfielder/forward, Juan Carlos Menseguez, joins on a three year contract and the ex-Wolfsburg flyer will look to fill Ighli Vannucchi's boots as he's handed the number 10 jersey.

Empoli striking sensation, Nicola Pozzi, fired his side to an impressive win over former Uefa cup winners, Sevilla, in the first round of European qualifying group games. The number nine shocked the Spaniards, striking in both halves, before late pressure from the visitors resulted in an own goal from Lino Marzoratti, as a tense finale ensued.
Empoli will now welcome Scottish giants, Glasgow Rangers to the stadio Carlo Castellani, in the next group game where Professor Nutmeg will be hoping for another upset.

Empoli took another step towards the Champions league group stages, with a thrilling victory over Glasgow Rangers, at the stadio Carlo Castellani, in their second qualifying game. The Tuscan outfit bounced back from a goal down to finish the match with a flattering 3-1 scoreline.

Both sides lined-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Rangers looked to have gained the upper hand early on, when they netted first. Kujovic's initial save from Lee McCulloch, trickled goalwards, but the custodian was unable to stop the ball crossing the line, as he scrabbled after it. The Azzurri struck back immediately, when captain Antonio Busce hammered in an equaliser from six yards. Twenty minutes later, new signing Juan Menseguez put the home side ahead with an exquisite finish from just outside the box*. The Argentinian met Volpato's through ball and calmly curled it past the keeper with great finesse. Empoli were now playing with confidence, as Rangers looked visibly shaken. The visitors' night was summed up when with minutes left of the tie, Kirk Broadfoot's close range back pass, took keeper Frank Rost by surpise and nestled in the back of the net.

With two group games gone, Empoli sit at the top of their group with six points. They now face a trip to Brussels to face Anderlecht.

* This goal was amazing! It was very very similar to Nihat's winner for Turkey against the Czech Republic. A finesse shot from the D, outside the box, left of centre, curled around the diving keeper (it didn't hit the underside of the post though, rather hit the back of the net in a satisfying way).

I jumped out of my seat at this one, due to it's uncanny resemblance to the aforementioned goal (it was my favourite of the competition). A little through ball, same position, same finesse like shot, keeper wearing a yellow shirt (lol) and it was a winning goal too. I saved it, so i'll attempt to upload it at some point. I think it could well be my best PES goal ever, not just for the goal, but the situation too - a winner, coming from behind, on a European night of football against an arguably better side. :w00t:

I'm in my "difficult" second season with Valenciennes. Since the club plays the CL as champions the board decided to invest and change the squad quite radically. Ten players left the club and 7 came. Among them one big name: Pavlyushenko (it's against nerf's rules, but i couldn't resist). Other new names: Lugano, Marange, Diawara, Louvion, Poccognoli and Ishizaki.

I've played three matches in the new season: 1 draw against Lens, an away win against PSG and a loss against newly promoted Caen...the board and the fans are already complaining...tough season ahead for Valenciennes...
 
Thanks Gerd, yes it is. I haven't managed to do well in Europe for a long time in PES now. Last season, i went out 4-1 on aggregate to Lyon in the first round of the Uefa Cup, so this is quite exciting. I could be heading for the Champions League proper.

Lots of changes there Gerd. It can't help your team bonding. Are all your new signings in the first XI? They'll have low co-operative stats i'd imagine.
 
They are not all in the first squad all the time...i'm one of these "rotations managers"

The players i sold to other clubs were fringe players...i replaced them with possible first team players...so i virtually have 22 first team players...

This makes it more of a challenge and even realistic, because you don't expecrt a team like Valenciennes to become a league challenger every year (it's already highly improbable that they would beat Lyon after 38 matches...).

But i enjoy it, and that's what counts...

I know this seems an awful lot of transfer activity but, I think it's fairly realistic in terms of what a supposed 'big' club would do on getting relegated.

Every offer that came in I had to accept, and for players like Recoba and Di Michele it was inconceivable that they'd of hung around in Serie B.

My main hope for next year is Dominique Malonga can come into the side and really establish himself in a similar way that Balotelli has for Inter. He's only a young lad but a brace on the final day against Fiorentina suggests he has the mentality to do well.

Munteanu, Jerome and Reynoso were all picked up on free's so the only financial outlay was on Niculescu who is ageing (31) but was a big star at Dinamo Bucharest before doing his best, but ultimately failing to keep Duisburg up (scouted via eurogoals btw!). Guilhereme Siqueira is a bit of a punt but as Udinese were
so insistent on taking Stellone I thought I'd take a chance on the Brazilian playmaker who looks like a poor man's Elano.

With Bjelanović gone, I am losing a really good target man and key ability in the air. So the plan is to change formation to a 4-1-3-2 utilising Corini as a lone dmf rather than the dual dmf alliance from last season and play a more attacking style through the middle rather than wings.

I've always had Siquiera on my ML list, in the last few PES. His stats have gotten better, but i never got round to actually signing him. He looks useful in this one. Of course, as ever, you have to wait and see if he plays well under you (the good thing about PES).
I'm only a few games in to the new season, but already Menseguez is looking a good signing for me. I'm still beaming over that wondergoal he scored against Rangers. I have to show you it.

Well i have to be honest mate, despite Walter Casagrande's Brazilian networking it was'nt a player i had come across. IRL has he fared much for Udinese?



Stellone could of gone elsewhere but with Rosina moving to Old Trafford the need for some creativity without any outlay menat it was a no brainer.



Menseguez is an intriguing buy mate (seem a lot of Argentines come to europe then go back if it doent quite work out), id love to see it

Prof, Menseguez, is that the Argentinian player who plays or has played for Wolfsburg ????

I had him in my Wolfsburg team a couple of years ago (the best ML i've ever played, but in my second season my daughter (the apple of my eye) decided to play in bath with my PS2 memory card...). He was awesome for me. I played him upfront in a 4-3-3 with Martin Petrov and Diego Klimowicz...great team i had (with D'Alessandro as AMF)...
 
Yes it is him, gerd and i do remember your Wolfsburg ML. I was wondering when you would chime in about Menseguez and Argentinian players in general;))

So far in Europe i'm using a 4-2-3-1, and he's been the central one, behind the striker. In my 4-4-2 though he's wide left, with license to wander in.
His acquiistion was a happy accident really. He wasn't on my 'to buy'list. I wanted to get Giovinco back at Juventus, so i looked for non-Juventus players in their squad, with a similar position and tried an exchange. It turns out he's probably exactly what i was looking for, with regrads to filling the space left by Vannucchi. Although, i'm missing a FK specialist now.

I think D'Alessandro plays with him irl at San Lorenzo too.

Glad to hear some of you are taking on the offers-from-bigger-clubs rule. A further aspect of it is when you then have to play against those bigger clubs, like I did last night when Christian Müller made his first return to the Bieberer Berg Stadion since he was sold to Wolfsburg a year ago, for whom he is now the starting right-back.

He had an excellent game, giving me all sorts of problems bombing on from deep. Indeed, he was the one who collided with Wörle to earn a somewhat soft penalty. At 1-0, that penalty gave Wolfsburg a two goal cushion and became the turning point. Talk about twisting the knife.

Life is proving difficult in the Bundesliga, with only four points accrued from about eight matches. Oh well, only Bayern up next...
 
I've been reading for a while now and the way you guys put this makes me miss all my past ML adventures :( May i ask what platform you guys playing on? I'm assuming PC.

Thanks. A win in Brussels and i reckon i'm in the hat for the CL group stages. It gives me a dilemma though. Do i field a weaker team against Anderlecht and save my better players for the League, where i have only grabbed 1 point from 6 so far. Or do i go for the win and then relax?

Indeed, always loved the bigger club rule (you're cheating yourself if you don't). It then forces you to find replacements etc.. Always fun when you then face your ex-players, thinking, i taught him how to do that, when he skillfully slots one past your keeper. :DD
