Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Well done SB.
Perhaps it's the way i organize my leagues, but i generally end up with well balanced groups. Often one nation per place. (With Vaduz, my qualifying group was Auxerre, Fiorentina, and Liverpool, for example). I have created some more european teams since my first ML, so the mix should be even better now.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Great game stringer bell - I like the way you teased Sevilla with the winning goal by hitting it in the roof of the net. I bet you thought for one second you'd skied it over!!!
hahahah! You right mate!

When i first hit the ball, it looked like it was just going over, but it hit the roof of the net! I wasn't meant to do that by the way. :D
Well done SB! Sparta for European domination! :D
Thanks mate. :)

What i done with the other leagues is mix the teams up from different nations.

For example in one of the leagues, i've got two English teams, two Spanish, two Italian teams, then i start adding Dutch teams, Danish team, Swedish, Turkish and so on. It bit hard to explain without writing down how i set up each team.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

hi sb,

I can't view the video for some reason mate i'm afraid.

sounds like a ripsnorter of a game though. Is that the highest total number of goals you've had in a game?

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

I think it has something to do with the type of software you've got on your computer, probably JavaScript.

Yeah that currently the highest number goals i've scored in one match, I recall.

Congratulations Stringer...great game that was (against Sevilla that was)...
Medunjanin tunrs out to be a great player????

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Thanks Stan

Medunjanin becomes a good player, but doesn't turn out to be Superman! Which i like, i don't like having God like players in my team. But Medunjanin becomes a good player, what stands out about him is his stamina, balance and aerial abilities!

Peace.

INFO

The Club
Racing Club de Lens
unexw8.jpg

Lens' nickname, sang et or (literally, 'blood and gold'), comes from its traditional colors of red and gold. It was founded in 1905 as Racing Club Lensois, but was not officially registered until 1906 as Racing Club de Lens. Lens originally played in green (as the club's seat was located "Place Verte", literally Green Square) and black (for the coal dug in the area) stripes. Between 1908 and 1910, they used black and red quartered shirts, then an all black shirt bearing the three white letters R.C.L., a cheaper kit for a poor club. The club's activities were silenced by World War I. In 1919, it restarted as Union Sportive du Foyer Franco-Américain and played in sky blue. Finally, late in 1923 chairman Pierre Moglia was inspired to choose the colours of the Spanish flag after someone from the club remarked that the ruins of the Saint-Léger church they happened to be walking by that night were the last remains of the Spanish occupation in the seventeenth century. Lens played their first match with their new colours when the Stade Municipal was inaugurated in 1924. For a long time, the huge influx of Polish miners between the two world wars provided Lens with a great pool of talent, reflected in the names of many players. More recently, they have turned to Africa for their recruitment.

The club has long marketed itself as a regional club rather than a town-based outfit, and has become noted for its strong support across its region, despite the fact that a second top-level team, Lille OSC, is located in nearby Lille. The club's ground, Stade Félix Bollaert, which hosted six games in the 1998 World Cup, seats 41,233 — more than the population of the city (about 36,200 inhabitants), although Lens is at the center of a considerably more populous area. With around 35,000 supporters turning out for each home game in 2004-05, RC Lens's average attendance was only fourth to the clubs from France's three biggest cities, Olympique de Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Lyonnais. The club also has a reputation for having the country's best supporters.

In recent years, Lens have been competitive in the top level of French football, winning the league in the 1997-98 season, finishing second in 2001-02 and winning the Coupe de la Ligue in 2000. In 2005 Lens succeeded in winning the Intertoto Cup to qualify into the UEFA Cup. After an average 2004/05 Ligue 1 campaign, in which local rivals Lille OSC finished a surprising second and outperfomed them for once, Lens expect a finish in the top six for the 2005/06 campaign but still probably second best to Lille. Unfortunately, they failed to get a place in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup going down to Italy's Udinese (0-3, 1-0).

Former coaches include two ex France coaches: Gérard Houllier (1982-85) managed France between July 1992 and November 1993, and Roger Lemerre (second half of the 1996-97 season, then as assistant coach 1997-98), who managed France between July 1998 and July 2002.

Three Lens players won the gold medal in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games: defender Didier Sénac, as well as strikers François Brisson and Daniel Xuereb who scored a goal apiece in France's triumph over Brazil 2-0 in the final at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in front of a 103,000 crowd.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Hey there, Alex, nice choice, but aren't u scared of the fact that Lens is one of the big clubs in France and it might turn out too easy to play with em?

AS Nancy-Lorraine 1-1 FC Nantes-Atlantique
22' Fae
35' Zerka | Biancalani

Not the worst start of the season for Les Canarais. Althou Nancy was the better side in this match it still ended up as a draw. Can't say that the visitors really deserved it thou. Nantes goal was really beautiful, but it wasn't a good team goal but a merit of a single player - Emerse Fae. Fantastic right-foot shot from about 30 minutes left no chance for Gennaro Bracigliano. 13 minutes later Nancy was able to score an equalising goal. Zerka headed the ball into the net after Biancalani's service from the left hand side. After that Nancy took the total posession of the ball and had a couple more chances, but neither Zerka nor Curbelo or Kim(twice) were able to use them.

Starting line-up: Stojkovic - Cetto, Guillon, Cubilier, Signorino - Fae, Dimitrijevic, Payet, Wilhelmsson - Rossi, Diallo
subs: Rossi > Oliech; Payet > Boukhari
Nantes MOTM: Fae (Solid performance and the goal left no doubt who it should be)

FC Nantes-Atlantique 1-2 RC Lens
13' Diallo
41' Cousin
71' Seydou Keita

Nantes, urged on by supporters started the game in good attacking manner and on the 13-th minute Mamadou Diallo Nantes' malian striker opened the score. Home side continued to press on, but every time something prevented them from scoring a goal. Diallo, Wilhelmsson, Fae, Cetto, Capoue all missed their chances, some of them even twice. Retribution for squandering moments like that followed on the 41-st minute. After a number of ricochets ball came to Cousin who unlike the home players did a great job of finding the back of the net 1-1. After the half time break Nantes apeared as the side capable of nothing but clearing the ball away from their penalty box, and even this job wasn't performed so well. Hosts' defence with Cetto at the head were making one mistake after another. Second goal was just a matter of time. In the middle of second half Seydou Keita was finally able to score and put the end to effortless strugles of the home players.

Starting line-up: Stojkovic - Cetto, Guillon, Cubilier, Signorino - Fae, Ca, Capoue, Wilhelmsson - Rossi, Diallo
Subs: Cubilier > Savinaud; Rossi > Keseru; Ca > Da Rocha
Nantes MOTM: Stojkovic (if it wasn't him the score would've been a couple of times bigger)
- Ca out for two weeks

FC Nantes-Atlantique 0-2 AJ Auxerre
20' Pieroni | N'Diaye
27' Thomas | Jaures

This game was like a continuation of the second half of the previous game. It seemed like Auxerre was the only team on the field. One by one the constant waves of attacks rolled onto Nantes' goal. It was clear that the goal won't be far off. on the 20-th minute Pieroni scored the first goal. 7 minutes later Thomas increased the advantage. After that the game calmed down a bit, however Auxerre had a couple more chances, but the lack of finishing touch or great reflexes of the keeper prevented them from scoring more. The only Nantes' chance was once again created by Fae, but the left-foot shot from about 25 meters was stopped by Fabiene Cool. All in all a fair result for this one-sided game.

Starting line-up: Stojkovic - Cetto, Guillon, Cubilier, Signorino - Fae, Dimitrijevic, Capoue, Wilhelmsson - Keseru, Diallo
Subs: Capoue > Boukhari
Nantes MOTM: Signorino (was simply the best defender on the pitch)

Standings after 3 games:
...
11. Lille OSC | 3pts -3
12. Toulouse FC | 1pt -3
13. FC Nantes | 1pt -3
14. ASSE | 1pt -3
15. OM | 1pt -3
16. Rennes | 1pt -4

Nah,I plan to mix things up a bit in the winter transfer window. Some veterans like carriere and cousin are probably on their way out, as I don't see much space for them in the first team and I'll try to give young guns like monnet-paquet or sidi keita a chance...

Nigel Clough Takes Over At Forest

clough_beam.jpg

Nigel Clough has been named as the new manager at struggling Nottingham Forest.

Clough, who has joined from Burton Albion, has been at the club since 1998 but is excited at the prospect of managing a club that is close to his heart.

The Son of legendary manager Brian Clough is Nottingham Forest’s 2nd all time top scorer with 131 goals in 403 appearances during 2 spells at the club.

Clough faces the daunting task of trying to put forest back in the top division and will have to achieve the task with limited resources and an ageing squad of players.

“ This is the club I have dreamt of managing since becoming a manager and cannot wait for the season to start. I am relishing working with some top players such as Castollo and Minanda. This is a massive club who belong in the big time and I hope to be the one to take them there. If I can be half as successful as my dad then I will be extremely pleased.”

Clough, no doubt will be a popular choice at the City Ground and hopefully the former 2 time European cup winners will put the recent bad times behind them.

Mid season update

JackLester1.jpg

Influential captain Malcolm Stein

After going the first 3 matches of the season unbeaten, Forest hit a rough patch of form, failing to any of their remaining league games and find themselves sitting in sixth place. With Charlton Athletic and West Ham United way ahead of the chasing pack, automatic promotion to the top flight seems very unlikely for Nottingham Forest. Another worrying fact is the team has managed only 3 league goals, although they have only conceded 4 goals.

On the plus side Forest managed to knock Celtic out of the D2 Cup and progress to the semi finals thanks to a single goal in the first leg from Castolo. They will play Rangers in the next round.

Captain Malcolm Stein has been arguably Forest’s best player so far and the tough tackling Irishman had this to say to the clubs website.

“ Since being named captain by Nigel Clough I have upped my game considerably and I will give 120% for the rest of the season.3rd place is a realistic target for the club and let’s not forget we still have a great chance of winning silverware come the end of the season”

Meanwhile Nigel clough had this to say on the rumours of him dipping into the transfer market for a striker.

“ It is true I am looking for a striker who could get us bags of goals but I will not be paying over the top for any player. Although the chances of that happening are slim because we have not got any money to buy anyone at this point in time. The chairman has told me players will have to leave before I can bring anyone in”

Hopefully come the end of the season,Forests fortunes will have improved, Maybe even with a piece of silverware in the trophy cabinet!

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Good to see so many of the veteran PES ML threads still around.

You guys haven't forgotten about me, have you? ;) :p

Great to see you guys all still here old friends and some new faces as well. :)

@alexcarreira, Hello Alex, nice report. I was wondering what happened to Dermont, the RB with the dyed blonde hair?
It's Demont, SB. There's no R but you probably knew that and just made a typo.

He's a quality player. Played as a winger for Ajaccio but since joining Lens, been mostly employed as a right-back. But even as a defender, he can provide a lot of danger and attacking threat to the opposition. He's one of Lens' best players in real life along with others like the classy Brazilian CB, Hilton and the solid Coulibally and of course the most complete player overall who is so effective and does so many little things for teams he plays for which often goes largely unnoticed by the majority is Seydou Keita. A player who has to be admired not just because of his footballing ability but also sportsmanship, loyalty and overall being a very good guy. :)

It's Lens' 'left-back' position which is by far the biggest problem in the team after selling promising young full-back, Benoit Assou-Ekotto to Spurs last summer and offloading veteran Lachor to Sedan without a proper replacement. In fact Mr. Gillot recently admitted that if Lens are to do anything this year, they NEED to acquire a decent LB because currently they have probably the weakest set of LB's in all of Ligue 1! And that's true and not good at all for a club the size of RCL and their ambitions.

p.s. I don't know if you heard but Bordeaux and Ricardo (Their Brazilian coach) have just managed to take away the talented Brazilian Jussie away from Lens on loan for the rest of the season on the last day of the transfer window.

----------------------------------------------------------------

@DB and Gerd, Don't forget what I wrote you in a pm a week or so ago.
The discussion is now in its latter stages and at a place where I'm sure you'll enjoy reading and the 'example' I've been hinting about for a week or two to wrap up the "English Media" discussion will be coming very soon. :)

Take care guys.

See ya all later.

MALLORCA NEWS

3 DAY ROUND UP

Real Mallorca stumble away, losing to Real Betis, but show
promising home form, winning twice at the ONO Estadi.

16692_news.jpg

Home form could be key this season

Real Betis 1 Robert 37'
Mallorca 0

A lacklustre away performance from the islanders. Nothing seemed to go their way.

Mallorca 1 Maxi López 7'
Zaragoza 0

A bright start to the game gave the home side the lead, but momentum stalled in the second half. However, a well deserved first win of the season.

Mallorca 2 Tristán 27' Ibagaza 72' Nunes (sent off)
Real Madrid 1 Reyes 67'

"The corker in Mallorca." Diego Tristán fired the home side into the lead from close range, minutes before stopper José Nunes was shown a straight red for a challenge on Robinho. Jordi failed to add another when his 20 yard drive rebounded off the upright, having beaten Casillas. The loose ball fell to Tristán, but his finish from two yards was deemed offside. Roberto Carlos threatened from disatnce with a few hard driven free kicks, but keeper Antonio Prats was equal to the Brazilian's efforts, acrobatically palming the shots to safety.

Madrid dangerman, José Antonio Reyes, was a constant thorn in Mallorca's right side and he levelled the score with a well taken header from a cross, back across Prats. Midfielder Ariel Ibagaza then fired home a sublime winner on 72 minutes, sending the home crowd into a frenzy and denting Madrid's perfect start to the season in the process.

Real Mallorca's next game sees them travel to the capital, to face Atlético Madrid.

About the last part, no, i never heard. Why did they loan him out if his so "talented"?

ps - i've been reading your thread, but i don't post.

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread

Nope, no patches here.

Chuffed about the Madrid result. Especially a man down. I didn't think i'd get my first win so soon. Home form looks promising too :)

Dutch Striker Signs For Forest

After being linked with a whole host of strikers in the transfer window including Marcus Bent and Carlton Cole, manager Nigel Clough has surprised every one by signing Sparta Rotterdam striker Jason Oost for an undisclosed fee.

No_name_106815h.jpg

Jason Oost in action for Sparta

The talented 24 year old started his career at Feyenoord Rotterdam but signed his first professional contract with RKC Waalwijk in 2002. At RKC Waalwijk he played 84 matches in three seasons and scored 12 goals. In 2005 he moved to Sparta Rotterdam, where he became the clubs top goalscorer with 8 goals in the 2005-2006 season.

The Nottingham Forest manager had this to say about the new signing. “I have had scouts rave about Jason and after going out to Sparta to watch him play that made my mind up about the lad. Even the Sparta manager assures me he will be a great signing ;) He is still relatively young , I have no doubt concerning his abilities and I believe he will settle into our side pretty quickly”.

“ I am very excited about joining a club with such history” said Oost. “ I will do my absolute best to help my new club get promoted to the top league. After being in and out of the Sparta side I want to start playing regularly again and score goals for fun starting against Sheffield United on Saturday.

On the way out at the club however is Dutch veteran striker Ruud Huylens. The 35 year, who has been reduced to one substitute appearance this season has completed his move to Bayer Leverkusen for a fee estimated to be around the £500,00 mark.(bet they never play him )

Any other suggestions????

Re: The PES6 Master League Thread
