Re: The PES6 Master League Thread
Pre season transfers
It’s been a very busy time at the city ground during the transfer window. 4 players have left the club this summer with 2 coming in. Experienced players Luis Minanda and Mike Burchet have pledged their future to the club signing one year deals each. The biggest news is the capture of Marlon Harewood, who returns to the club where he first made his name.
Harewood: pleased to be back
“ West ham have a lot of quality strikers” he said. “ With names like Tevez, Cole, Zamora and Sheringham I was not seeing as much first team football as I would have liked. I am sad to be leaving West Ham and I wish them all the best in the premiership but I am looking forward to playing for the club where it all began. I do not see this move as a step down. Nottingham Forest is a massive club with some great names and I look forward to be playing with fellow strikers Jason Oost and Castolo”.
West ham almost immediately replaced Harewood with young Spanish forward Miguel Ordaz. Manager Nigel Clough was reluctant to let him go but admits he cannot wait for Harewood and Oost to score the goals that will put them back into the big time. “ I’m almost drooling from the mouth thinking about what these to can do together. They were awesome in our recent pre season tour of Germany and I’m very optimistic with the new season only a week away”.
Forests other big signing is the versatile Phil Jagielka whose main position is centre midfield but can play centre back and on the odd occasion in goal. The player admits he is reluctant to leave Sheffield but understands the club needs the money. “ I’ve had some great times at Sheffield United. Neil Warnock didn’t want to lose me but his hands were tide and was sad to see me go” Rumours are going around that Warnock has privately admitted that he is furious with the boards decision to let Jagielka go to a rival club in the promotion race and is seriously considering his future.
